 Le Belvedere

I did a search on WB and nothing turned up. Has anyone else booked a wedding at Le Belvedere in Wakefield for this summer?

I'm thinking of booking it for 2013 and would also like to know?! Do you find it a little expensive for a 3 course meal?

I sent them an email about 5 days ago and haven't heard back. I would think they would be on the ball.

Wakefield. I assume you won't find anything on this place because its so new.

The Belvedere looks amazing. It might be worth taking a drive up.

skyla_11 - it is a little expensive, but then there is no venue fee on top of the food - you might work out how much that fee would be per head at another venue - for us it worked out to around $25 each.

You would have to take a drive up there and check it out.

It's not in the village of Wakefield itself, their map makes it look like it's nearby, but that area is a bit of a trek by car across the river. It's about the same distance as Captiva Farms, which is close to 10 Km from the village, I believe.

It looks pretty, and that area if beautiful. I know Wakefield like the back of my hand, but I've never heard of it. Sorry, wish I could offer some info frown

PM me if you want some Wakefield tips wink

Thanks Malkynn. I wonder if there is much talk in Wakefield about this venue being built?

I just saw this thread today. I booked my October 2013 wedding at Le Belvedere in February. I know all the booked brides are invited to an open house next week. Everyone else is invited to an open house June 24th I think.

So, I went and checked out this site with my sister over the weekend, since apparently one of her friends built it (who knew?)

Anyhoo, the view is unreal, seriously ridiculously unreal.
The building is a great size, and it's a great blank slate for any kind of decor you'd ever want.
It's definitely not my taste, but it will make a great impression on wedding guests.

It's a decent little distance from the village and there's nothing up there other than the venue, so either plan a good chunk of time between ceremony and reception to justify people driving into the village and trying to find parking, or plan your activities carefully so that people don't end up with nothing to do.

Your photos will be phenomenal, the place is a photog's wet dream

Hoping the drought doesn't affect the photo opportunities, but definitely looking forward to it.

We're getting married there next week, so look for vendor reviews in the future.

Wakefield 2012 how did everything go??? I'm going for a viewing tonight. What did you do about accomodations and shuttles? Did you find the prices to be super expensive?

They have some great photos on their Facebook site. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Le-Belvedere/205803989444579

It looks like there are some amazing places for formal photos.... and the view is amazing. A fall wedding would be great there.

ElleBakes - We stayed in the Mill, my entire family (15+ including children) stayed at La Grange B&B, her entire family stayed at the Alpin Gruss motel, and we had a bus run (First Student Canada) back to our wedding hotel (Cartier Place) at 1am.

Everything was awesome, and I can't say enough how beautiful it is up there. Jessica was amazing on the day of, although communication wasn't always prompt over the last year (she has been busy with building the venue though!)

What did you do for your photos Wakefield. Did you venture into town? My work mate is trying to arrange a trip back into Wakefield but the limo driver seems not keen on it.

Wakefield is about a 5 minute drive, it isn't far at all.

We did photos with family on the rocks & in the trees near the venue, then did bridal party photos on the covered bridge down in Wakefield, and then did a couple of bride & groom shots in the forest on the way back up to the venue.
