 Obleek bags

  1 2 3 4 5  ...
I know some of you have bought Obleek bags, and I just wanted to get a feel for them. How much you liked them, the styles and colors you chose, photos if you have any. They look awesome, and I wanted to see real life experience .

Here is the etsy website:

I have an Obleek purse, lunch bag, and sandwich bags and love all of them! I got them as Mother's Day gifts this past May and I have received so many compliments on them. They are very well made, and for the size of the purse, it remarkably holds quite a bit! The sandwich bags wash up really well which leads me to think the purse and lunch bag would as well.

I also bought my mom one for Mother's Day and she, too, loves hers. I cannot say enough about how great Obleek is!

Purse:

Lunch bag:

ETA: It's an added bonus, too, that Katie and her company is a Canadian company, from Alberta!

I believe RBM bought one. Either way, the purse she has from Etsy is very nice!

I love them. I may have to give Etsy a try!

WOW! For some reason I thought they only made diaper bags. I would love one of their purses...sooo nice! Thanks for posting, I'm off to check their website. I need another purse like I need a hole in the head, but at least these are different.

I featured Obleek on my blog a couple weeks back and she has a special offer of getting the bags in CAD $ if you mention it when you buy!

http://bebechouchou.blogspot.com/2009/06/canadian-company-spotlight-obleek.html

I am still trying to decide on a fabric! She has so many nice ones to choose from!

Thanks Brecksgirl, I was going to add that!

Spirit, I just don't know between all the models! I love the Gracie, but I'd prefer to have a zipper over a magnet as closure. I just love the Simone as well!

As for fabrics, I love:

Summer Bloom

Ashen Rose

Watercolor posies

Maybe a 60 year old would also like something more classic like:
Beige Berries

or
Brown Damask

Maybe even Watercolor Posies.

Cypra, if I'm not mistaken, you can request whatever closure you want for your bag, so don't feel "stuck" on settling for something you're not crazy about. That's the joy of getting a custom bag!

k&j, really?? Because some of the descriptions say : "magnet OR zipper" yet some simply say "magnet". As such, some say the model has 1 strap, others 2, and others you can choose 1 or 2 . Guess I'll be sending the seller a question!

Yes, definitely send Katie a message as it is my understanding, esp when you custom a bag, you can choose what kind of closure. And if for some reason it is one over the other, I'm sure she can explain the reasoning or give another suggestion for a bag that would work for you. Katie is excellent to work with!!

I have a Simone from Obleek (fabric is night garden) and I love it. It is SO well made. Mine doubles as a diaper bag sometimes. Its a good size to throw in two diapers and travel wipes as well as all of my stuff.

So I asked DH and he said to go for the Gracie in brown
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3299/3513612483_e2af6a1aca.jpg?v=0

what do you think?
I was kind of hoping that he would pick something with a little more colour in it.

Cowgirl: I think you should get either Modern Love in Grey or Charcoal and Chalk.

I ordered a Large Stevie diaper bag combo in THIS fabric with a hot pink lining. I LOVE it. Love it. Love it. I can fit everything I could possibly need and more. The straps are really nice and don't slide off of my shoulder. I love it so much I am thinking about getting another diaper bag in THIS Fabric. Oh Paypal, you make it too easy...

Cowgirl,
I LOVE Summer Bloom (one of my choices, although the type of fabric is not recommended for the Gracie, which I think I prefer) and Daisy Dreams.

Spirit, that fabric was one of my suggestions for a 60 year old, so I think it's great!

These are really nice bags - love the variety of shapes and patterns. Not too crazy about the Obleek tag sticking out in the middle like that though...but they're still really great looking bags.

I got mine yesterday! Already switch everything over to it. Its just a lightweight bag, but digging the colors!

One thing i was a tad disappointed with was there is no inside zippered pocket. I would think every womens bag should have one to hide things .

Another Obleek lover here!!!
This is mine
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3650/3596710223_2e6ebcd2ed.jpg
Have to say, that it's more then big enough for the various stuff that someone carries around when you have 2 kids (out of diapers)

I got this set for my BFF for her bday - she LOVES them
http://www.flickr.com/photos/obleek/3596699309/in/set-72157611770982349/

Both the kids have a set of snack bags - Our School encourages litterless lunches, so lots of my mama friends have been asking about the snack bags
Shay's
http://www.flickr.com/photos/obleek/3597518540/in/set-72157611770982349/
Kiara's
http://www.flickr.com/photos/obleek/3597518014/in/set-72157611770982349/

and i also bought 2 SLR camera straps for my friends (who in turn have ordered bags)
http://www.flickr.com/photos/obleek/3563173866/in/set-72157611770982349/

I am SOOO addicted to Obleek that i plan to buy Kiara and I matching small purses, most likely in Mocca in Chocolate

did i mention i love my bags!!!

They are indeed beautiful bags!!

This is my purse. I'm getting a lunch bag in the same fabric as the lining (I custom ordered the exterior fabric) and I'm also getting a lunch bag for DH in a custom ordered fabric.

My bag - The Simmone

DH's coming lunch bag

As for the zipper vs magnetic closure and the 1 vs 2 straps it is an option on all the purses/tote bags - even if it doesn't say so. They are all customizable including extras like key fobs, etc now! You can also arrange to custom order a fabric for a small fee if you have your heart set on a fabric that the shop doesn't carry.

I love my Obleek bag, it's perfect and it's about to experience the true test on vacation! Can't wait.

I am loving your bag TTC!!

Initially I was looking at some of the other fabric, but with me i figured it was safer to go with a dark colour - that way it doesn't get spilled on, show dirt as much, etc

LOL Jan. That's my purse. I love it! For the zipper closure pocket, you could have asked Katie to customize it for you if you like. This purse was customized pocket wise inside and outside (on the outside 2 instead of the 3 because I wanted them bigger) although I didn't ask for a zippered one inside because I don't need it.

I also have a tote bag and a lunch bag that I have ordered perviously, before the purse.
I love them all. Katie makes amazing bags.
