I wanted my cleo in charcoal and chalk but had to pick a different fabric.

This is what I ordered! (with a Kirby to match) I can't wait until they get here!

You mean, like this:

Ok, but mine is a bit different since I asked her to use solid black fabric on the top of both with solid black straps. But you get the idea.

Same idea! Different bag! The more I see it though, the more I wish I had ordered the Gracie.! Very nice Honeysher!!

Sorry, but is this the cleo or gracie???

THANKS!!

I was just on her site and she's now saying 12 business days for custom orders I'm on business day 8 so I'm crossing my fingers that my bags will be shipped next week!

It said 7-10 days when I ordered, it's now been 10 days, and it still hasn't shipped.

I'm bummed. I have a small hope that it's shipped and she just forgot to update the website (I do data entry and forget stuff like that all the time). But otherwise I'm so disappointed that my order has been delayed without so much as a message from her, that I probably won't bother with the orders I had planned to place when this arrived.

I think we may have overwhelmed her quite a bit with all the orders (plus everyone NONE WB that's also ordering from her), so it might be a bit soon to say you're not ordering anything else from her, no? I don't know... Maybe I just don't see it the same way...

I guess I shouldn't be complaining too much - I just did the math and today is business day 10 and she was quoting 7-10 business days before shipping. Apparently it shipped a minimum of two days ago.

But I still want it...

I can totally understand that she's overwhelmed. I'd have totally been fine with an email around day 7 when she still had more than 3 days worth of work before getting to mine. I'd have been bummed, but known that she did all she could.

Instead, I check every day thinking it might get shipped today, and I'm on about day 5 of disappointment (including Saturday and Sunday, which I know don't count for manufacture days, but I checked, hoping she'd update the website on those days).

I also have the pleasure of seeing everyone else's arrive, and have no idea when mine will.

It's one thing to have to wait a while for something. It's much worse to think "maybe today? nope. maybe today? nope..." indefinitely.

Plus, it's not looking good to be able to show it to my sisters next week. I was planning to gauge their opinions and give GCs to the ones who were most interested.

And everyone else who is waiting should be prepared to wait at LEAST 3 weeks so you don't feel like I do right now.

ETA: I've really just lost the excitement, not "I'm so angry with her that I refuse to ever give her my business again."

OMG Ladies! I can't believe how impatient you all are! Give the poor woman a break! These bags don't just get thrown together. How can we expect to bombard her with orders, changes, add-ons, emails and not have her a few days behind. Personally, I have waited for ready-made orders from ETSY for up to three weeks and didn't think twice about it. I understand when we all placed our orders that she had an expected date of delivery but holay molay Ladies, cut her some slack.

I can't believe all the whining, just like kids at Christmas!

We all know she is doing her best.

P.S. I technically ordered mine first because I had my order list in while she was on vacation so she should stop with ALL your orders and get to mine!

Totally convo her about that. She's pretty good about "customization" to suit - I think you can even get plain fabric bags with colored pockets etc.

Marie Eve: I ordered the Large Stevie Diaper Bag package! I love it and can fit everything I could possibly want in it. I am even using it as my carry-on for my flight today!

In fact, I loved the bag and all of the accessories so much that I ordered a second one! Obviously, I don't have the large abby so I can't compare but I really love the shape of my large stevie.

Holy crap, there are some serious whiners in this thread! It won't kill anyone to wait an extra day or two, it isn't like she's intentionally picking and choosing what products to make and bumping others just to piss off her customers! Since other ladies are getting their bags in decent/normal time, I'm sure it wont be much longer for everyone else. Might be a good excuse to learn some patience. If you let it, it might even help build your excitement about your product instead of turning some people into the eternal pesimist.

I'm glad to see that some people are coming to her defense. As her friend, my opinion of things is a little biased!

Believe me when I say that Katie and her mom are busting their butts to get these orders done and I know that she was not happy about having to temporarily close the custom order part of her business. But if there's one thing I know about Katie, it's that she is a hard worker, she goes above and beyond to maintain customer satisfaction and quality in everything she makes and she did not come to that decision lightly. I know that she has a few things in mind on how to better her business and I'm sure she will find a way to implement them but, bear with her, these things do take time. Her business is barely 8 months old and it has really taken off - a lot more than expected.

Again, as her friend, all I can ask is to cut her a little slack. She is stressed right out and concerned about some of the messages on here. She really is doing the best she can.

AmberM - I realize that your frustration is largely due to how much you really want to see your bag come to life. You will get it - your wait isn't indefinite! She quoted 7-10 days, add to that shipping time to Calgary (2-3 business days). I'm not sure when you placed your order but perhaps taking into account the time to ship and not counting your order date will still have you within the time line??

As far as I know, the people calling me whiny currently have a bag in their possession, or at least know that it's on it's way. I'm now on day 11, and it still hasn't shipped.

And from her blog post: "Also, in fairness to all of our customers, we will not be able to accommodate rush orders or additions to orders several days after your initial order." Yet someone here who added more to her order after I placed my order already has hers in her possession.

I've been caught in the gap between the boom and Katie learning how to deal with it. I don't believe anyone else here would not feel just as disappointed.

And being called names for being honest that the estimated times have been too optimistic doesn't help the situation.

And futomaki, your bag is fabulous dawling! I'm jealous.

Amber I beleive this is their policy going forward, I don't think it applies to orders already processed. As she says on her blog, these additions and changes add to everyone's wait time (your's included). So it sounds like a great change that she is making.

I can understand you are dissappointed and anxious, but I think what upset the girls here is that you said you wouldn't order anything else from her because you hadn't heard back from her quickly enough. I am sure she is doing the best she can and that you will be so happy when your bag arrives.

I myself am actually glad she haulted custom orders, it gives me a chance to make up my mind without other people ordering the fabric I want! lol!

And I tried to clarify earlier, I'm not so upset with her that I refuse to ever order again. I've just gone from super excited with a list of stuff to order as soon as I get my first bag, to wanting to wait and see how things go in the next few months.

Ooh AllyT I got that fabric for the diaper bag and can't wait!!

Futo, LOOOOVE it. I also liked the other fabric you initially chose (yeah yeah I was stealth stalking) but think I prefer this one. You can pull it off with some many outfits.

For the record, I'm a bit of an Etsy virgin here and just naturally figured that a quality custom product would take time to reach me. I ordered a while back and am still waiting and that's more than cool - better to wait and get something I'm totally inlove with, IMO.

Ditto. I also figured it would take a while to receive my bag. It took 11 days and I was surprised it took so little time. I realize at first that some of the girls were being funny, saying the wait is too long, but then for some it became serious!! Ladies can live without a bag for a few weeks!!

And I also hope Katie knows that there are so many fans here and not to give in to the pressure!

Again, it's not so much that it's taking too long, it's that it's not within the expectations that Katie set. And that she didn't update my expectations when she realized she couldn't meet them.

And I think even Katie has realized that's no way to run a business, since she's changed some of her policies.

Umm nope. I called you whiny and I am currently on day 10 of waiting with no notice of my bag being shipped. I added no late pieces or anything other than my initally placed order 10 days ago. And guess what? Still just as excited as the day I ordered it! Maybe even more so because the anticipation has been building. I'm even from Calgary, so we're in the same boat. Seriously, I ordered a premade item from ebay that a woman just had to stick in a box and ship and it took 3 weeks. 11 days of waiting for a CUSTOM MADE item is nothing. You can't fault her for trying, which is exactly what it seems like she's doing.

OK, I misunderstood the earlier one, so you don't have one in your possession.

I ordered mine about 4-5 days before you. When I say 11 days, I mean 11 business days, so I am passed my expected ship date. I am also the first person here to not get it within the quoted time. If I had said nothing, and your expected ship date passed with no word, can you honestly say it would make you even more excited?

After seeing all these other bags arrive within the planned time, I got excited about mine. I honestly expected it would ship when she said it would ship. It's a lot like having the excitement build for Christmas, and then waking up on Christmas morning to nothing. And then later in the day being told Santa will be there next week because he was too busy bringing toys to the other kids. Being told "come on, you couldn't honestly expect him to get to EVERY house in one night!" doesn't make it any less disappointing.

ETA: And just to be nosy, was the ebay bag custom made? Did it come through customs? 3 weeks is about a typical time for me to get stuff from the US, not custom made. I got the feeling this was custom made, so I'm very impressed with that timeline.

Meh, I dealt with Katie when creating my bag. She seems like the kind of person who goes above and beyond to ensure her customers are happy as can be. If my bag goes beyond the shipping time, I would put two and two together after seeing this thread and knowing how much she probably has sitting there and wait another day or two. I might send off an email at that point just to check on things, but I dont think I'd make a ranty post about it and claim that due to it being 1 business day late so far that I wont order anything from her again (I know you back pedaled that one, but that's what you initally said)

And no, the ebay bag wasn't custom. However there were lots of people who left her feedback within 3 or 4 days of their auctions ending saying they had received their stuff how great their product was. I was patient though and it paid off. And I was JUST AS excited today as I would have been a week ago or a week from now.

Anyways, this is now a dead horse being beaten into a second death. You can obviously tell from this thread that she's a good seller and you will get your bag soon. And now from her latest blog update, it seems she feels so absolutely horrible that there are people (I'm sure you're not the only one) who are having to wait those extra few days that she has stopped taking orders entirely until she can get caught up. Your initial post just seemed a little bit like a 3 year old on christmas morning stomping her feet because she didnt get the tickle me elmo that all of her friends got, even though she knows that she'll eventually have one too. I know I'll catch heat for saying that, but that's why I posted to begin with. I feel for Katie, I know what it's like to be an overwhelmed small business owner who's trying to do their best to keep everyone happy, so I defended her.

Honestly, I think Katie is awesome I just decided I would get a gift certificate in a custom value for a friend of mine who is getting married in a couple of weeks. I wanted her to get something special for herself, and I know she loves bags! So I sent Katie a message about 30 minutes ago, and she's already set up the listing for me (and it's like 11:00 pm there). So she's probably up madly trying to get all of our bags done.
