No worries - it was a very well worded reply!

If it helps those who are waiting, I ordered mine on August 12th, and they arrived today. I've been ordering off Etsy for awhile now, and I really don't pay a lot of attention to how long it takes for items to arrive (unless it's been a ridiculous length of time - like two months for a bib!). Between things being handcrafted and then having to go through the mail, it takes awhile.

My first, ordered back in May - Simone, double non-adjustable strap, three interior pockets, three exterior pockets, magnetic closure. Carnival in Bloom with a hot pink interior:

My new babies...

First, Abby - single adjustable strap, three exterior pockets (plus two side pockets), three interior pockets, zipper closure. Blanchette with burgandy interior:

Second, Kirby wristlet - Sophistica with hot pink interior:

No action shots - no way I'm taking a photo of myself right now (ripped sweats and a hub's Kokanee Ranger free out of a beer box t-shirt... with baby puke on it).

LOL OMG i love this comment.

I personally decided to wait last week to order. I already love by current bag so much, and what MORE, but also realized by reading this thread that The Obleek Studio was probably super duper busy. I rather wait for a custom made product, something that is made by hand, in CANADA, something that supports our Canadian economy.

So what if there is a wait "all good things come to those who wait", and personally i would rather know Katie is busy working on the production end then spending precious time answering nagging emails asking "when will my bag be done, has it been shipped, why is it taking so long"

Meh, I dealt with Katie when creating my bag. She seems like the kind of person who goes above and beyond to ensure her customers are happy as can be. If my bag goes beyond the shipping time, I would put two and two together after seeing this thread and knowing how much she probably has sitting there and wait another day or two. I might send off an email at that point just to check on things, but I dont think I'd make a ranty post about it and claim that due to it being 1 business day late so far that I wont order anything from her again (I know you back pedaled that one, but that's what you initally said)

This is what I initially said:

Quote:

But otherwise I'm so disappointed that my order has been delayed without so much as a message from her, that I probably won't bother with the orders I had planned to place when this arrived.

Not an angry rant, saying that I'll never order again. A sad, "probably won't bother".

You're in the same boat now I was a few days ago when I saw people who'd ordered a couple of days before me were getting theirs, or getting notice that theirs had shipped. My excitement was building, thinking I had just a couple more days before mine would ship. Then my day passes without notice of shipment, and it's like a balloon popping. At least because I said something, it won't be quite the shock to you when your estimated ship date passes and it's not done.

Anyway, either Katie saw this, or someone emailed her and told her I was having a hissy fit because I didn't have my bag yet. She sent me a message saying they'll finish it Friday and have it in the mail for Monday. I replied back to let her know that I'll be away next week, so won't be here to receive it, so she may as well work on someone else's order instead.

Although I do feel like a [censored] that she was up sending me messages at 12:30 in the morning.

And for the record, I did not send her a message for this exact reason. I relied on what was happening here, which probably got me in more trouble.

Ok, so I didn't even know this thread existed until a few days ago, and since I'm already an Etsy addict, I read through all the fa-reeking pages of this thread. OMG you ladies have lots to talk about on Obleek, but who blames you, they have fabulous bags!!

So I just ordered my Kirby yesterday, and I am very excited, but the thing is, it's not for me, it's a gift. Yay for my friend, boo for me. But the reason I didn't put in a larger order was

a. she is swamped right now, and
b. I'm not sure what I want yet (fabric and bag)

I'm the undecisive type, it even took me a few days to decide on fabric for my friends bag. I'm leaning towards the gracie because I love the pleated look, but I also love the diaper bags as well (abby or stevie). So I dunno... I guess I have to think about it. I want a bag that will be useful while DS is young but that I can also use after we've outgrown the diaper bag stage...

Love all the bags btw.... I will post pics when my (*cough* my friend's) kirby comes. I ordered it in mocca brown, with a brown band on top and a aqua interior... I hope it's as pretty as I picture it...

amber you aren't the only one who has not recieved a bag in the time quoted. I ordered on the same day as you. And my bag isn't here yet either. I know its not been shipped yet, (I asked) only because I was ordering MORE bags.

Convo her and ask if she's ordering some. If she has no plans to at the moment, maybe your future order will spur her on!

Oh no - I just realized that she's out of Charcoal and Chalk (the fabric my mom wants). Hmmmm, I wonder how easy/difficult it would be to get some more of that fabric? Only 3 more weeks before I can bombard her with my questions and my new order

I ordered in that one last week and she said then that it was low and she wasn't sure if she could get it, so I had to pick a back up just in case.

I HAVE BEEN SHIPPED! I'm giddy right now! I was actually in Edmonton all week and thought about telling her that I could pick them up if they happened to be ready but I didn't want to rush or pressure her. I ordered quite a bit from her and she had to order the fabric in special order for me so I didn't think they'd be ready so soon! Can't even wait to see and show them off!

AND, I saw one in person at the Edmonton GTG this week! It was awesome!

Oh noes, Janny you're going to start more controversy.

I DID NOT HAVE AN OBLEEK GTG AT MY HOUSE.

Ahem. Janny did me a "favour" and I was "repaying" her. That is all.

SOO sorry, didn't want to start more controversy! Like Futo said, I stopped by (the way you put 'favor' in quotations, makes it sound very dirty you know! ) and happened to see the pretty Stevie. Come on, we're cooler than that, having Obleek GTGs... Hey wait, that's not a bad idea!

OK, the new fabrics she posted are gorgeous!! I'm loving the Night and Day one and Asian Watercolor too! Just more to add to the crazy amounts of choices...

Diva that Gracie you ordered is fabulous! I can't wait to see photos in real life!

Oooh, new fabrics! But I can't see the Night and Day fabric... I do love Asian Watercolor and Fleurs Violettes (was that new, or did I just miss it the first time?).

ETA: ah, it's because the fabrics have been split between Quilter's and Home decor types on 2 separate pages. Night and Day IS a gorgeous fabric!

Caramel Swirl

Asian Watercolor

Yayyyy! I got my bags!!!! <running around the house with Kermit arms>

My Gracie

The inside, complete with key fob

She's a beauty! Smaller than I thought she'd be for whatever reason, but I'm totally okay with it. Really well put together, and the pockets inside are amazing!

My only tiny concern is that there's a mark on the fabric of my Gracie from what looks like a black marker - but I'll get over it. I'll just wear that side facing in.

My six snack bags, with granola bar for reference

And one close up for my nephew

GREAT gracie bag!!! I'm liking the idea of the snack bags. Wonder what I could use them for... Are they ok for non dry foods (not sure what the lining would be called for the non dry foods, sorry)? I'm very tempted to get a sandwich bag or two and a lunch bag, and the snack ones would be great too me thinks! What do you intend to use them for?

Janny, the snack bags are pretty small, so they'd be good for something like dried fruit, candy (yum!), nuts, small cookies - anything from the Bulk Barn! They have linings to make them easier to clean. And the velcro is uber strong so nothing's falling out!

MPsGirl, yep, asked her to put it inside just because the pattern is so busy.

Here they are Ladies. And they were worth the wait!!

Simone in Mauve Mums, single strap, button enclosure

Lots inside. Make-up bag, hand lotion, wallet, address book, phone charger, a spot for my gum...

Next to my old purse, showing that it's not too large at all. Pretty much the average purse size

My custom order fabric. It looks a bit taller because it's empty but they are exactly the same. And my matching make-up bag

Simone with a key fob, inside zipper, 3 pockets, custom ordered fabric. Double straps

A couple of Kirbys

Inside my make-up bag. PERFECT size! It's holding a compact, 3 tubes of lipstick/lipgloss, pill holders, tooth picks, lipliner and gravol
