ATTENTION ABBY OWNERS!!!!!!!!!
I need help! I am trying to make my decision so I can place an order as soon as they open up again. I am in love with the Abby as it will be our diaper bag! However I am having a hard time deciding between the regular Abby and Large Abby! Baby #2 is on his/her way and I think the Large Abby will be good enough for us but is there anything you recommend for me to add? pockets? sleeves etc?? Anything?

I am having such a hard time picking a fabric we like...Agghhh I like the Sophistica and Brown Damask...but also Carnival as its "fun" lol Ahhh! Decisions!

Show me pictures of your Abby!!

I think I may also get the Kirby as well Just so I can throw my things in there instead of everything being lost in the diaper bag lol....

Thanks in advance ladies!

Damnit...

I have been avoiding this thread like the plague since I knew if I started going through it, I would need an excuse to get a new diaper bag..

and Damn you Melinda for showing me your Large Abby In Gothic Widow last week!!!!

Sigh.. now to wait another week until Katie opens and I can start to figure out what to get done.
I have no idea what kind of fabric to choose!!! Im so not a decision maker!!

Haha don't hate me! We could be bag buddies!

Well I am a beyond happy customer! I had katie initially make me a moddified diaper clutch. I asked for it a bit wider and had her put an extra pocket on the back for the change pad. When it arrived I posted that I wish I had asked for it even wider cause the change pad was a tight fit. Turns out it hadn't been made wider at all, so I emailed Katie about it (as well as the key fob that hadn't been put into my bag that I ordered) and she felt awful (I could tell stuff like this doesnt happen often!) and not only did she send me a clip on key fob and an additional $2.50 off a future purchase, but she re-made the diaper clutch and sent it to me no questions asked! Now I have two! Beyond amazing customer service, I will be coming back for sure!

I'd definitely get the large Abby, especially with two kids. My Abby is enough for short runs and trips. Other things I would get:

- key fob
- soother pouch on inside within easy reach
- one large outside pocket to put a change pad in
- if you have other outside pockets ask for a velcro attachment.
- in a perfect world the elasticized bottle holder on the outside would be insulated

Okay, here they are!

Large Abby in Antique Damask on Black with bright green interior:

The inside:

I have it stuffed with: 1 spare change of clothes for each boy, 2 cloth diapers for each boy, a wet bag, my nursing cover, a receiving blanket, 3 size 2 & 3 size 5 disposable diapers (as backup dipes), wipes, bum cream, small bottle of Tempra, hand sanitizer, sunglasses, my wallet, my cell phone, and in the outside elastic pockets a bottle of water and ODS's sippy cup. I still have tons of room to put more if I want!

For the inside I had 3 pockets put on one side and 4 on the other...in hindsight I wish I had done 2 one one side and 3 on the other instead. I think I got the measurements mixed up a bit when figuring out how much space I'd have in each pocket. It was a bit of a tight squeeze to put the disposable dipes in the side pockets and I can't fit my wipes case. No biggie though!

Here is me wearing the stuffed bag:

Despite all the stuff I have in there it still "wears" nicely if that makes any sense. It doesn't look overstuffed.

And here are the 2 Kirby's I ordered. The one on the left (in Sophistica with red lining) is for my SIL for Christmas. The one on the right is for me to match my Abby:

(I hope the pictures are sized okay, Photobucket hates me!)

Thanks! I'm assuming so. I'm not sure what the dimensions of the Tammy are but when I ordered it smaller she did say she had planned on offering it as a regular item. Mine is about 11.5" wide, 11" high and 5" deep.

And I agree with you on the pockets in Large Abby. I had 3 pockets and a pen slip put on one side (and a zippered pocket on the other), and I wish I would have just put two because they are a little small... and don't fit my change pad (which I just put on the outside since the fabric matches).

OK then ladies, you would recommend two pockets on one side and three on the other for the inside?
Im a cloth user so its very rare I need to carry disposables.. and I have a change mat, but honestly rarely use it.

Im trying to figure out what kind of pockets to have on the inside.. as you can tell:)

OK, so a key fob is something I should add... plus the velcro on the outer pockets, plus the zipper... Sigh, this bag is getting to be more and more over $75

Need some suggestions on fabric.. I dont have a clue what will look good. Nor do I know whether to get a color to wear for either gender babies... or whether I should get the color *I* want:)

Here's my regular Abby in Sophistica that arrived this week. It's doubling as a purse/diaper bag for short trips. I'm so not the big 'ol diaper bag kinda gal - the only 'real' diaper bag we actually own is DH's DiaperDude!

I also got the Kirby to match with pink lining but that's been posted many times already...

Inside I have 3 pockets on one side, 2 pockets and a pen pocket on the other. The 3 pockets are kinda small but at least I have 2 bigger ones for the diapers and wipes.

Currently packed I have: 3 diapers and a wipes case and pen on one side, 2 face cloths and vaseline on the other, a change pad, change of clothes, and my wallet in the middle. Keys on the key fob, and my cell phone in the front pocket.

Kelly take another look at mine on friday. I have a few different sized pockets on the inside so you can make a guess as to which ones you need. You can also try my diaper clutch and see if that's an option for you as well.

For the record, I got the material I liked. Babies dont give a moment's thought to what their crap is carried around in, but when I look down and see my pretty fabric, it puts a smile on my face and makes me feel a little bit prettier.

I say definitely get the fabric you like. Like PP's have said, it's you carrying the bag, not the baby. My previous diaper bag had a really obvious pink lining and a pink change pad and I have 2 boys.

Sarajen: Love your Missy (or is it a Tammy?)! Which fabric is that? I am debating between a Missy and a Tammy! Is your bag big enough to fit a laptop? I am going to order a large Stevie as a diaper bag and purse. So I am looking for something of a medium size!

The bags are relatively the same in terms of overall size and accessories. Where they differ is in their shape. The Abby is square (16" top and bottom) and the Stevie is tapered to the bottom (16" top, 12" bottom).

DJ I asked Katie about this a couple of days ago. She is still offering the at par deal.
Also if you buy 5 bags or more she will give you the at par deal or 10% off the USD price whichever is better for the buyer.

I was also looking at ordering a bag, but I may just wait until this next wave of orders to die down, or will it ever die down? Poor thing she is going to be swamped again.... Ah well, I may just order and wait for her to make it. I am quite patient though, being that I am still waiting for my kirby (i did order they day she closed though, so I am one of the last one to get my order). Can't wait to get it, even if it's a gift (or is it )...

I think the way she was talking though, she will be taking fewer orders. Whatever is listed on the website, after it's done, she won't relist until she knows she can make them on time, am I correct? I think by noon tomorrow, everything may be sold out though LOL

I really want a lunch bag, but not sure what size to get and don't know which fabric either...

For those of you that have them, are you happy with the size you got? What do you usually fit in there?

She is limiting herself this time but it moreso applies to the larger bags (Stevie & Abby) since those take much longer to make than the other ones.

If it were me (and it is because I also have an order) I would put my order in on Monday and realize that it's going to take a few days for her to sort through the chaos before getting into the swing of things. I wouldn't wait for the wave to die down because once she gets through this one, the next one will be Christmas stuff, then the next is redeeming Christmas GCs.... It would be better to get your stuff in the queue and stalk the Canada post guy/gal until your package shows up!

Still not sure what size Lunch Bag I'd be getting it in... Is it just me or are there a LOT less fabrics than before? I guess it's to be expected considering the amount of orders we asked for...

I love the new Black White and Red one too though, but I'm wearing WAY too much Black and Grey lately, so I need a fun pop of colors I think...

and a change purse in Teal Dream.

The change purse is apparently the same as the business card holder, but no flap and a zipper. Katie will be making this an option when you order the business card holder.

Question.

Would any of the bags work for a gym-type bag for when I go to the pool (my reg bag broke and I can't find anything I like)? It would need to be able to hold my larger swim towel, a small hand towel, shampoo, soap, face wash, comb, underwear, water bottle and wallet. The only thing I would really want is to make sure that I can zip it up.

Any feedback on styles that would work for what I need would be appreciated.

Thanks!

The bigger ones (Abby, Stevie) would be good for that purpose. And I bet you could ask her to do the interior in the material she uses for her wet bags and snack bags so that it wouldn't get damaged if things were a bit damp inside.

I'd choose one of the home decor fabrics instead of the cotton ones for the same reason.

Thanks. Good idea about the lining. Stevie was one that I liked the look of already but I wasn't sure if it would be big enough or if I should look into one that was more of a diaper bag for size.

Nice to pre-emptively reward (read as being incentive) myself for getting back to the pool regularly.
