It takes a lot to impress me (where cosmetics are concerned). I like immediate results and get very impatient waiting to see them. I saw a 60 Minute piece (or something like that) on this cream and how it has a cult following in Asia so when I saw it hit the North American market I was really excited to try it. Garnier is the first company to release it, but I checked Sephora and a few other lines are starting to carry it - Clinique I noticed. Anyhow ... I thought for $9.00 I'd try it - Im so glad I did - Im not sure I would have spent $19.00 for it, but now I won't be without it - it made that much of a difference - for my skin anyway - it does everything it claims to.

CHW - I don't think you'll be disappointed! Especially when bambino comes along and your time is a little more limited. Speaking of bambino .... I can't believe your still holding on!! I've secretly been stalking BB waiting for some news - good luck!!!

I think Sephora has BB creams in store for the following brands: Clinique, Smashbox, Boscia and Too Faced.

I am tempted to try them but my skin has been going nutso since November and it's only now starting to get back to normal... Ugh. I stopped using foundation (don't know why the hell I started using it last fall anyway) and went back to tinted moisturizer and that seemed to help out a lot, so I am weary of trying BB creams as I fear the difference formula might break me out.

Le boo!

Ok I was in Costco today on my lunch hour and they had a 2 pack of this Garnier BB cream so I figured WTH and grabbed it. Can't wait to get home and try it out. Fingers crossed it works as well for me as it does for BridetoBe. smile

Ooh, I really want to try this BB cream now. Like canhardlywait, I also have sensitive skin but it's hard to resist trying something that so many people rave about.

Emmanus - do you remember how much it cost at Costco for the 2-pack?

It was $24.99 for 2. I probably should have tried it out first but when I went to Shoppers yesterday they were sold out. So when I saw them today I figured I would give it a go.

I'm putting my faith in BridetoBe.

I bought some yesterday and so far I'm happy. It gives me a nice glow and helps with any unevenness. I like that I can quickly use it and some mascara and feel presentable when I don't have time for makeup

Anyone know where you can buy it online? I really want to try it, but I'm on bed rest and I don't think DH will be too excited to track this down for me locally!

I have the regular prep and prime from mac and it's not that fantastic. I would suggest a paint pot over the actual primer. Mine is pretty old though so maybe it's improved since then.

So, I bought the Marcelle BB cream (the lady at Shoppers said she preferred it over the Garnier). Anyways, I like it...it's really not much different than the tinted moisturizers I have tried, though.

So do you put this BB cream on top of regular moisturizer? or does it replace it? I have a pretty strict skincare regimen so I'd be hesitant to replace my usual moisturizer (which has SPF).

I have the Garnier BB cream and I am fairly light and I find the light-medium a little too dark. It may be better for me in the summer when I'm not so pasty.

I bought the Garnier BB cream over the weekend and I got Light/medium and I love it. I agree if you are really pale it may be a bit too dark for you.

I will ask at shoppers and try the Marcelle one as well. So far I'm loving it and bonus is that it doesn't irritate my skin which I was worried about as I tend to react when something has Vitamin C in it.

In my city all three Shoppers were sold out. Walmart was sold out and it's only 12.99 there. I finally managed to get it at Guardian Drugs. I paid $21 with tax.

Must not have caught on in my city yet, seems that everywhere still has it. I picked it up at Walmart.

I'm pretty fair, but I have freckles, so I think that's why the light/medium isn't too dark on me.

I like it, still need some coverup under my eyes and on any pimples, but it hasn't made me break out and makes my skin look more glowy and less dull.

Bumping up the thread I killed to ask for a blush recommendation.

I know most people rave about Nars Orgasm, but I find it too peachy for my skin, I prefer something pink-er, but not too dark and maybe with a bit of shimmer. Any suggestions?

I find Orgasm a little peachy as well. I LOVE "Flush" in the Blush Rush collection by Smashbox. Its exactly that - a little pinky but not dramatically so, and just a touch of shimmer.

I forgot to update on the BB cream. Overall I am pretty happy with it. It feels light and offers a nice coverage without being too heavy. My skin does seem brighter. Plus I like the smell. smile

I'm also glad to hear that others weren't a big fan of Orgasim blush. I didn't notice much difference between it and any other cheaper brand of blush that I have bought. I thought there would be more of a shimmer effect.

I would just use the drugstore brands that were on sale at the time I needed blush (Maybelline, Revlon...etc). I find that blush is usually lost on me as I have freckles across my nose and cheeks so it seems that it isn't as noticable on me as it may be on others.

jasey - a suggestion that I have for cheap blush with nice colours would be ELF Studio blush (from eyes lips face). It isn't available in stores here that I know of but I know it is sold in Target in the States.

You can buy their makeup online (which is what I do).

The blushes are around $3 each and they have a lot of great colours that are dupes for high end blushes. Just a warning - the colours on the website are NOT accurate to the real colour of the blush though. Here's a link to a blog post that I found about them:

http://www.amarixe.com/2011/02/elf-studio-blushes-review-swatches.html

I'd also suggest NYX blushes. I know you can get them at Rexall/Pharmaplus in Ontario. Here's a link to the NYX swatches:

http://karlasugar.net/2009/06/nyx-powder-blush-recap/

Personally, I am really into bright blushes for spring, and three of my favourite brights are:

ELF - Pink Passion

NARS - Mata Hari

MAC - Frankly Scarlet (I bought this yesterday and while it looks terrifying in the pan, it is a gorgeous raspberry colour when applied with a VERY light hand)

One of my friends bought the Marcelle BB cream in Light/Medium as she is really fair and it caused her to react to it. So she gave it to me. I'm wearing it today and so far loving it just as much as the Garnier BB cream. It is a little lighter for sure and works great smile

Any blondes with blue eyes out there? I want to get some eyeshadow for me friend for her birthday. I am looking to spend no more than $50

Any suggestions from Sephora? Palettes or singles are fine

Ginger, the Naked palette by Urban Decay is probably around that price. I prefer the first one to the new one but the colours are very flattering for me (very fair, blue eyes, blond hair)

Ohh, I think it might look nice on you then. I,m practically see through I'm so fair.
For a pink blush on darker skin, like Kim k, I,ve heard Desire is great, from Nars.
I'm wearing Well Dressed now, from MAC, but am considering something a little more colourful, perhaps Dollymix, or Angellika from Nars.

Ok, so has anyone tried Loreal Lumi magique foundation? It was all over the runways at fashion week, apparently it really gives you that glow.
It's on my lis to buy, but I'd love to know if anyone uses it.

Hey ladies! Can you please recommend a great, long lasting cream eyeliner? TIA!!

As for the BB Creams...I tested both the Marcelle and Garnier at the store. The lady recommended Marcelle, and it's a better match for my fairness...but I found that it settled into my fine lines, whereas the Garnier doesn't. I ended up getting the Garnier, but I wish it had an spf.

Anyone here try the Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream?

Um, ok, another question...I read the first page of this thread and it reminded me of something...

I have to wear "tube" mascara, because any degree of flaking, and my eyes end up so bloodshot it looks like I've been, er, smoking the green stuff. wink
I usually use the L'Oreal one that has the white primer, and it works well, but I don't always like the two-step process.
I bought the Too Faced Lash Injection mascara, and it just seems like a regular mascara to me, doesn't even come off in tubes when I'm taking it off, and it flakes. Am I doing something wrong? Or did I just get a bum tube?

LadyA, from the video, it seems they're even potentially marketing for concealers, etc. on a Swiss army knife like approach. We've apparently been using the tube style lipstick since the early 1900's. So ya, intriguing is right!

This isn't really makeup, but it is a beauty product. Has anyone tried the Clarisonic Mia, with the oscillating brush? I read about it on Lainey Gossip, and I bought one at Sephora a few weeks ago. It has made my dry, flaky skin so much smoother and softer. It has totally evened out my skin tone too.

I want to get one for my sister, but her skin is oilier than mine and she gets breakouts occasionally, so I was just wondering if anyone with similar skin has tried the Mia...
