My wedding dress is in (yes - I am super ahead of the game)...
Turns out that the salesperson did not realize that it was a "slim fit" dress and measured me on the wrong size chart. So, my butt is about half an inch too big to get it over my hips. Can I lose it? For sure. But, it was almost anti-climactic to have to put the dress over my head and have the salesperson struggle to make it look good on me.
All I keep telling myself is I have ten months - but it sucks... it looked not as good as the one I initially tried on. *sigh*
Pretty proud of myself - I didn't cry!

I thought about that too. I have done nothing all summer and am about to start dance and spin back up, so I know that half inch will come off... and in the end where it doesn't fit properly, it will probably need alterations. If I get a bigger one, it will need even more.
The bonus, my shoes are almost the perfect height, I need an eighth of an inch off the dress.
I now look at this as motivation!
Honestly, the exact same thing happened to me. Except it was my fault because I gained about 7-10lbs between when I was measured for the dress and when it came in. Like you, I had plenty of time to lose it (several months).
I ran 4x a week and went to hot yoga 4x a week and lost it all, and was happier for it!
Good luck!
