 Sorry... Sears Wish Book question

I apologize for bringing up a Christmas topic when Aug. isn't even half over yet, but I don't want to be disappointed this year... last year was the FIRST Christmas in my whole life (34, now almost 35, years) that my family did not have a Wish Book! I was sad and mad... I get basically EVERY other Sears catalogue delivered to my HOME but didn't get a Wish Book!... So... does anyone know when, exactly, it comes out?? I seem to recall the lady telling me last year, when I called to complain, that it was August!

Thanks!

I thought you had to request a CD and they didn't make the books anymore? But I thought they'd done that for years and if you got one in 2009 that would mean my information may be wrong.

If I remember correctly, they come out the last week of August/first week of September. But I think you have to request one now.

I got a postcard in the mail last year, and I think they were available for pickup starting Labour Day weekend with a postcard, and a few weeks later without one.
I know you can order it on CD too. Just keep checking the Sears website, it usually says there when it's available too!

I believe it is end of August/ beginning of September at the latest.

I didn't have one delivered last year and had to pick one up at a Sears pick up location nearby.

Aw man, I miss the Wish Book! It used to turn up right around the time University went back in, so beginning of Sept maybe?

There is a link on their webpage now where you can request a catalogue, and the Wish Book is one of them!

I had one delivered to my house last week. This is the first time I ever had it delivered. I usually get a card in the mail to pick it up (which I never did).

We just got ours delivered to our doorstep last week. Dh was going to pitch it as I haven't opened one up in years...but it looked nice and fat, and I've got a 40th bday coming up so I thought I'd look for presents. grin

Mine also just showed up on my doorstep last week. smile I am not sure if it is because I normally get the sears catalogue or if it was delivered with my weekly flyer package.

Last year I had to go to a sears to pick one up. They usually have stacks of them near the catalogue order pick-up area.

I remember getting the Wish Book each year at my parents' place - and remarking each year that (a) it seems to come earlier and earlier, and (b) man, there's some cheap and ugly junk in there!

Thinking back to it, the Sears catalogs stopped making sense long before I stopped seeing them (when I moved out). Big, thick tomes slurping up all sorts of marketing dollars and generating waste, while at the same time profit margins were on the decline thanks to competing stores like Walmart. My mom did use to do phone orders from the catalog, but given how often she just wound up taking things back for return or exchange, the shipping costs must have also piled up.

Still, leafing through that encyclopedia o' toys was a lot of fun.

My in laws and my sister received a Wish Book. My mom and I did not. I rarely get catalogues at my door anymore.

Go to the site and you can request one.
