Essie Mademoiselle is on of my all time faves, but right now I'm loving Yummy Mummy by Butter London:

and Mambo by Essie:

I'm more of a neutral fan, I just don't feel like myself with bright colors on my nails.

For those of you that like/have used Essie - do you like the consistency? I have a few of them - 3 to be exact: Barefoot and Nude, Fiji and Vanity Fairness. The first two are opaque and go on like "liquid paper" - so streaky. It takes a good three coats to look like anything. Have I just purchased duds - maybe seconds or something? Essie seems to be a cult favourite right now and I love their swatches but two of the three that I bought I will never use because of the consistency. Any thoughts??

Hmm... I've only tried 3 Essie polishes (2 minis, 2 full size, one repeat)... I haven't found any of them to be particularly thick, so I'd guess you've just had bad luck in your source frown Have you tried a thinner?

Love this thread!
So many of my favourites have been shared already!

Here's a few more:

My all-time favourite...Chanel Black Pearl. Glorious shade of deep green. In some lights it looks almost black.

My favourite almost black..>Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees

I am very impressed by those of you who put the time and effort into regularly painting your finger nails. Toes I can do because it lasts a long time, but fingernails just are so....much effort tongueold I'm quite envious of people who always have cute manicures!

I'm loving the next round of boxes!

I'm getting American Beauty with two pinks, but I am tempted by a couple of them.

I got my mystery boxes (with a Maven coupon code so they were $19.99 instead of $60) and one was three very pretty polishes, a lotion, appliqus, and sparkles.

The other one? 8 polishes, I think! And lotion and treatments and more sparkles and appliqus, and just a TON of stuff. So, I have bottles and bottles of nail polishes to try.

I'm going to highly recommend leaping on those the next time they come out.

And oh my - you should see the complaining not he Facebook page! From people who didn't get the big box - it's endless. I mean, $20 for at least $60 worth of product is a great deal, and I thought my small box was still a ton of fun, and that's the excitement of it, right? The mystery? Anyway - good fun even getting a small box. Definitely worth it next time!

I'm wearing the Julep Glenn right now from the Feb. American Beauty box... loving it smile I think I might go with the It Girl one for March, though... either that or the Classic with a Twist, I'm not totally decided yet. I'm torn between the purple and the opalescent *laugh*

Glenn was great, hey?

It's one of those odd shades of red - very berry, a little orange - that I would never buy. But I loved it once I got it on and was going to wear it for Valentine's day but it chipped so I swapped to Helena, my all time favorite Julep color.

I'm also psyched for the Argan oil - it's supposed to be miraculous not just on nails but for dry hands, on your face, smoothing hair. I actually tried to buy some the other day but the Trader Joe's I went to didn't have any. I took it as a sign that I was meant to get this month's box.

I got a pale yellow (Blake) in my mystery box that I'm really looking forward to trying, too. Seems so spring-y!

And can I just say thank you - I'm so glad I now have people to chat about my love of Julep nail polish boxes with! smile

Totally loving Glenn... but I never would have bought it on my own because I would've thought it was "too orange" for me (being among the uber-pale with blue undertones *laugh*)! but it goes on a nice deep crimson smile

DH was there on Friday when it arrived and I opened it... I was practically dancing I was so giddy to try it. His reaction: "uh oh. we've created a monster, haven't we?" *laugh*

Last time, I got two - and lucked out (it's totally random - there are a variety of pre packed boxes all worth at least $60 but one version is worth $100) and got one of the big boxes. I got dozens of polish and a ton of product.

Obviously it was worth it, but it was also worth it for being a TON of fun to get. My favorite was a pale yellow polish (Blake) which I would never have bought but is so spring-y and pretty.

But even the "small" box was awesome - three polishes, I think? Some decals and sparkles (which I won't use, personally, but lots of people love) and a few different smaller products (cuticle oil and lotion, I think).

I have a question for all you nail polish hoarders like me whistleold
How many nail polish bottles have you actually used up all the paint?

I think that I have only really used up about 4or 5 to memory. I just have so many, and am pretty fickle, and move onto the newest next colour.......

and

OPI's "The "It" Color":

I have the first peachy colour on all finger nails except my ring finger, and then the second yellow color on my ring finger with little polka dots in the peachy colour on top right now. MEGA CUTE!

Next one I'm going to try is Butter's "No More Waity, Katie" (made in honour of Kate Middleton)

Ooh those China Glaze ones are pretty.

I love Essie, but I find some of the matte colours need 3 coats to get good, even coverage. The only one I've been disappointed in was Fiji. It looked like pink whiteout on my nails.

I don't wear nail polish too often - it doesn't seem to stay on my nails. I'm sure I'm just not doing enough. I do my toes though an have something sparkly.

My pet peeve is buying polish for my girls - it looks like pink with sparkles in the bottle but I get it home and it's basically clear with the odd sparkle.

So all this talk about nail polish got me wanting to become an addict myself.

I already put an order through on Julep but I couldn't wait any longer so I went to shoppers and saw the brand quo orly. Has anyone heard of it before? Any reviews?

I bought "just married" (the one on the left) and and it looks pretty good. And I like how the handle is padded so it won't hurt if the top get stuck
