To sweeten the deal, I've added a little bonus. tongueold

I'm so mad we had three and my DH went to complete the order and the website crapped out!!! Ticketmaster is so frustrating. What's even more frustrating it scalpers are already selling tickets for $1500 - $10,000 a ticket!!! Who in their right mind would pay that!! I would rather go to Vegas and see him!

If I hear of any single tickets...I'll let you know, Cowgirlsissy.

I'm still hoping they'll add extra shows as they haven't announced who is performing the three days before his show.

P&K - You should trade CGS the tickets for her 'bonus' (I might be inclined to do it if I had tix!)

Everyone I talked to and have on FB said they either couldnt get through at all, or the lucky ones who actually had tickets in their checkout said the system completely crapped out before they could purchase... sounds like a scam by ticketmaster...
Sucks big time..

Just google Garth Brooks Sold out and all the news stories come up - it is the comments that are the most interesting. I am curious how many tickets were actually for sale.

flames season ticket holders had first dibs. (with no # restrictions from what I've heard)
There's lots of good conspiracy's going on. There's no way a venue of 15,000+ can sell out, transactions approved and completed in 58 seconds!!!!

I don't think anyone said transactions approved and completed in 58 seconds but that all tickets were pulled and in someone's line up at that point (then you go through each of their next steps, with 2 minutes to complete this one, 6 minutes to complete that one, etc.).

The people who I think are most justifiably peeved are the ones who had tickets, did the captcha, entered their payment information and then had the system bork on them and lose their tickets. That happened to me recently and it's the most infuriating thing in the world.

I thought I read in one of the articles in the Herald that Ticketmaster said there was no pre-sale tickets to ensure everyone had a fair chance? I dunno - I don'tthink I believe that. I saw on FB that a friend of a friend had their tickets on Wed.

I agree - no way it could sell out that fast!

Flames ticket holders did not get first dibs. I am a Flames ticket holder and we had zippo. I understand that Garth Brooks does not do pre sales.

According to CTV there were just over 15K tickets available. They do with hold some for contests and the like.

I also think part of the problem/anger comes from the fact that it felt like you had a fair chance. It was all on the downlow that tickets were sold before hand - to season ticket holders etc (rumour has it it was just people with box seats) As far as I knew/heard - all tickets were going on sale at the same time, saturday morning.

Also, with the price point, I am sure, many people, myself included though, Hey, I actually can afford to go...and now there is not a hope in heck. I personally felt that I had as fair of chance as anyone else to possible score tickets - but from everything that is coming to light, I really don't think that was the truth, and that is what leaves a yucky taste in my mouth.

Then add insult to injury, the scalpers seemed to secure way more than their fair share of the tickets. I was hoping to get tickets, but I didn't - I only know of one actual person who got tickets (hi puppy&kitten) - you would think there would be more people than that - but no one seems to have these tickets, so everyone is left wondering, who the heck has them.

I was online before 10:00am waiting on the page, refreshing, watching time count down and I didn't get anything. Not even a chance at tickets and then getting dumped by the system. 10:00am and 2 seconds in it was telling me sold out. I still tried (as well as DH, bil, sis and mom) for another 30 minutes after that. In 30 years of buying tickets. I've never seen anything like that.

I've tried often enough to get tickets for big acts that come our way only to have it sold out in minutes. I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often in Calgary. Maybe you get so many concerts they don't usually sell out as quickly?

Listening to the news this am, Ticketmaster apparently did say that people bought over the limits. I don't know how one person had time to complete one transaction and then a second transaction in the time allowed considering the odds.

I mean I'm good...and we had all our resources going. But there was just no way to get double sets of 6 tickets without doing something fishy.

I think if anything...Garth Brooks aside...this just reinforces why I hate Ticketmaster. When they're charging YOU to print your own tickets on your computer...they've gone beyond ridiculous. They need some competition.

They were saying tixs were $49 and the surcharges were $12 ($13 roughly). That means 25% of the original ticket price for surcharges.

What are they? Air Canada? laugh

I am in MB, and we have been long-time MB Moose/Wpg Jets season tix holders. It totally depends what level of season tix holders you are, as to whether or not you have purchased the 'rights' to your seats for other events. If you own the rights to your seats, then you get to get tix for anything that comes through the doors at a pre-sale price/date. All locations are like this, blame ticketmaster all you want. In this day and age, it is extremely possible for an even to be sold out in under a minute, with a presale (which has happened, as much as you want to ignore it), deal with it, it is the day of the internet.

They had the break down on tv

3300 tixs to the "Calgary Flames" didn't specify whether it was season tix holders or not...but I know two season tix holders (lower bowl...conceirge seats) who weren't offered any and wanted some.

350 to Stampede/Media promotion stuff.

250 to Garth Brooks, he apparently reserves them to giveway for free...or...he's been known to release them at the box office minutes before the concert for $10 each.

That left 11,000 for the half of million people wanting them. 58 seconds makes sense now.
