I'm super nervous at the moment and am avoiding working on what I SHOULD be working on, which is a bad plan. Ha.
About a year ago, I met a woman through work who is fairly senior at a large organization. She's really nice and I kept in touch with her - I even took her to lunch once to find out more about her career path, the organization, etc. etc.
She gave me a call the other day out of the blue to let me know that she's hiring for a position, and she asked me to apply. The issue is that the role would be a substantial step up for me (in responsibility and salary!) and I'm feeling REALLY intimidated. I told her that there would be a definite learning curve, but she just said that HR would call for an interview - which is happening in 3 hours. EEEK!
I have to do a presentation, which I'm fortunately very experienced with (and the topic turned out to be easy), but I am SO NERVOUS!! I just don't want to embarrass myself, ha, and I feel like I need to interview at an extra high standard because she's on the panel and I don't want her to think she made a mistake in asking me to apply.
Also, this is dumb but the salary is intimidating to me
Also, um, if anyone knows anything about project management, now would be a good time for a crash course...!
Must go practice my presentation and review my notes!!
