I have always had regular periods until this month and I'm started to get worried. I'm about 4 days over due and still no sign. I'm not pregnant (I've taken 4 pregnancy test, yes 4!). I've been stressed at work, but no more than usual. I haven't been the healthiest lately and could afford to exercise more and loss a few pounds.
Any way, I'm sure this has happened to someone else on the forum at some point. When should I worry? When should I go to the doctor? When you got your period again, did it return to regular monthly cycles?
TIA.
added - the weird part is, I'm crampy and my back is sore. Those are my period symptoms, but no period!

It's not unusual for me to miss a period due to stress. It just skips, and then carries on regularly the next month.

This happened to me, I was never late ever. After a blood test and an ultrasound to rule out cysts, I discovered I had hypothyroidism. It wouldn't hurt to go to your doctor, especially if it doesn't come for a few days yet.

When I wasn't on the pill I would vary by only a few days each cycle. There was a scattered time that I would have a random cycle where it was around 35-40 days long. In general, I would say that if you are a few weeks late with no sign at all and are still getting negative pregnancy tests, it might be worth a quick visit to the doctor.
I gotta say though, hormones are funny sometimes... especially after you've had a baby!

I had a super long cycle once where I swear my period was "late" by a lot! At least a week-10 days...but AF did come. And like PPs have said, it was just a long cycle.

relax! i know it's hard to do, but try. i've missed full periods and i've had several periods in a month (that was fun)... and it just came all out of the blue. I'd been regular for years and it just started happening. i took a test, wasn't pregnant, and then just lived my life. i got it again the next month... and then eventually my body regulated again.

I'm fairly regular, and I would never "worry" that my period was late until it had been late more than a few weeks. Stress can affect the body in crazy ways, even if it's never affected you before.

I know how you feel - I haven't had a period since the beginning of February!! I went to my doctor, who was extremely shocked that I wasn't pregnant, and got a TON of tests done. I haven't gotten any results as of yet, though.

In my experience, once you get to a cycle length of about 90 days doctors start to get interested, will order blood tests, and will usually prescribe provera to induce a withdrawal bleed.

I have a cycle of 28-32 days typically. But it seems once of twice a year it's like 50 days. Skipping or extra long cycle whatever, but it happens.
It can be a symptom of other stuff tho so if it's a few weeks late I'd get checked out

My cycles have been about 45 days long for the past ten months or so.
They have not been normal since going off the pill. I'm not sure if that's the reason or not. I'll be going for a pelvic ultrasound soon and we'll see if that shows anything.

Try not to worry. You don't 'miss' your period per se. Odds are you are having a longer cycle for some reason (stress, illness, your body just messing with you) and your ovulation is just delayed. Drs don't do anything until it's been 90 days-yes 3 months-without a period so I (personally) wouldn't be jumping the gun for that. And I do know of what I speak as I've been known to have cycles that were 130+ days long before.
It is also possible to have an annovulatory cycle which tend to be longer and when they happen, your period tends to be lighter.

Phew, I feel much better. Thanks ladies. I'm hope it's not anything serious, but it was a wake up call, that I need to lead a heathier lifestyle and deal with my stress better as well.
It just sucks, because we just decided to try for #2 and now it may be complicated.

I'd suspect delayed ovulation before a "missed period".
You'll get AF ~2weeks after you ovulate, so if thats delayed, so is AF.
If you've been stressed, its very very likely to delay ovulation.
