What is/are your favourite toys from childhood? Has it made a come back at any point?
I have tons of favourites, but I was reminded of this one the other day when I saw that they've brought it back. Although, I doubt it could ever be as good as the original:

I LOVED Pocket Repeat!!! I got it for DH's nephew for his birthday a couple of years ago, and I might have tested it before we gave it to him (had to make sure the batteries were good, didn't I? *laugh*)
It's not as good as I remember *sigh*
Also loved Merlin (same idea, but more games)
And Meccano
And Spirograph (damn I'm old)

Now you buy Spirograph Knockoffs from China which are not as good as the original. I purchased a cheap Easter type one for my son.
Light Brite
My all time fav, they only made this for a few years, FP Play Family Village.
All I have left is this creepy doll my parents saved for me. They gave it to me and I was like thanks I guess. I don't know why they saved it I never really played with it.

I loved my Speak & Spell and Merlin. My mum found my Merlin recently but it doesn't work.
Did anyone else have a lemon twist? Or am I showing my age?

I loved Holly Hobby. I had one of the giant rag dolls and a bedding set. I think my first lunch box was HH too.
Mum said my lemon twist broke. Is it weird that I'd totally love to have one as an adult?
Did anyone else have the Barbie head with the curlers and the make-up?
I always wanted the Play Doh barbershop but my mum hated Play Doh (too messy and stinky).

k&j : did you see the Simon episode of American Dad? It was on again just the other night.
I mostly miss the Ertl farm sets we had and the complicated farms we set up (laid out grid roads and everything). We had these three sets and I think at least one more, plus a bunch of John Deere 1/64th machinery:

Anyone remember the Kid Sister doll? There was one for boys called My Buddy. My brother had Buddy and I had Kid Sister. Mom still has them and YDS loves playing with the My Buddy doll. I think he thinks it's a real little boy because he's always hugging and kissing it and trying to talk to it. He gets a little frustrated when it doesn't talk back, lol.

K&J, I am surprised you've never heard of American Dad. It's a cartoon (adult, but not in the XXX kind of way). The episode you would need to watch is called "The One That Got Away" season 4, episode 2. Or you can read this spoiler summary :

I totally forgot about Skip-Its! I loved mine - it had a counter on it so you knew about times you jumped over it.
As lame as this sounds, I didn't play with a ton of toys. I was always reading, haha! Well, reading or singing into my hair brush while looking at myself in the mirror...

I had an awesome Strawberry Shortcake doll that had strawbery scented breath when you squeezed her.
My brother and I also spent HOURS playing the Siege board game. My parents had major regrets about giving us a legitimate reason to fling marbles at each other

One of my most favourite items to play with was this:
I may or may not have purchased two of them off Ebay.
You can change the movie cartridges and also project the movie onto a wall...you turn the crank so can go any speed, forward and backwards...I don't know how often I watched Mickey and the giant.

I had TWO popples! I remember being very upset because we went on a trip and my brother tucked a cherry in the pouch of my yellow popple and it stained it. In fact, I think the popple is still at my moms and still has the stain.

Yeah. Some of those toys are really making me feel old.
One of my fav things from Gr 6 or 7 (don't remember right now) was my Dataman. Yes I'm a total geek but I can totally do math in my head from it.

Spirograph was fun! Also loved the Pogo Ball. Is it bad that I could sing the My Buddy song before I even watched the video.
I got this for Xmas one year after much begging and pleading
Oh Glo Worm, you glowed until my hands hurt from trying to squeeze you!!
Scratch and Sniff stickers
AND the accompanying sticker collection

PasDeChat - I ha the same SS doll I sold all my stuffed toys in a yard sale about 3 years ago and SS still smelled like strawberries when I squeezed her.

I still have some pieces of my Spirograph.

I had totally forgot about the Get Along Gang as well, and I totally remember part of the theme song from the cartoon!
My grandmother got me one of these:
They would drink from a little bottle, and then cry real tears. Its head was super hard though, and I remember getting in a lot of trouble for hitting my sister with it once!
