Awesome!

I'm not that sore today actually, I'm surprised! My DH made me stretch really well before and after though, so maybe that helped a lot? I'm even doing the 30 day shred today! wow

Yup didn't go yestereday. by the time YDS went to bed and I would have gotten to my mom's, it would have been close to 8:30. So either I do it this afternoon after nap time, or I do it at night regardless. Maybe if it comes to that I'll suck it up and go outside and call my shoes "bought for good"

I couldn't start yesterday frown I got frigging norovirus :puke:

I'm hoping next week because the last time I had norovirus, it took close to a week for me to feel 100% again.

Day 1 Fail!

Out of the run segments I was able to "run" the first 4, walked the 5th, ran the 6th, 1/2 the 7th and maybe 1/3 of the eight. I ended up in a lot of pain in my left hip. But then again I was out there even though it rained and tomorrow is another day.

My run is my time without the kids and Tae hates the stroller so I would have to listen to him yell most of the way and A complaining that he is too loud or that he is bugging her. No thanks.

I'm debating between shred or just going for a walk one DH gets home.

I'm starting Week 3 tonight with my running clinic. We're doing 3 and 1's - yikes! I missed one of my runs last week - I really hope that I'm okay tonight!

I did it! Though I sprint a lot in my line of work ( code blue team) so this week is easy for me... The other 7 weeks are going to kill me! I did get a wicked side stitch half way through! My DH reminded me no matter what the intervals im still improving my health!

Yup I get the stiches too...on my right side. In the middle of the run. But by the end it's usually gone.

Day 3 done. Next up week 2. It was harder yesterday because I ran at 8:00 and I was tired. I don't love running that late...but such is the joy of DH's schedule. I'm pretty sure my shoes are fine so next run I'm going outside. Which will cut 20-30 mins off so I can go out at 7:30 and run right away. It was funny because as I was leaving to go to my mom's I noticed tons of people running in our community.

Looks like I won't get out tonight as DH works late, and DD is too little for the jogging stroller just yet. It's also supposed to snow tomorrow...15-20 cm! Sigh...good thing I got an hour long walk in yesterday.

I started too, but I didn't wait until April 1st - I started a bit early. I'm going to do my last week 2 run tomorrow and then move on to week 3.

I agree that not completing the first run doesn't mean you failed. The very first time I started, I had to do week 1 for two weeks until I could actually finish it. Just keep at it and the running part will get easier!

Week 1 - Day 2 - DONE! Well, I should use the term 'done' reeeeally loosely. But like the others suggested, I'm considering that I got off my fat arse a success, so no 'fails' for me!

It's nice to have other people going through this as well, b/c it really, really sucks. (making myself do it but not enjoying one second :()

w3d1 complete! This was my easiest yet. Even though there were 2 3 min runs there was more walking so it felt like a good transition. I covered WAY less distance than I did last week.

Question. The last 5 min - is it a cool down or to you keep up a brisk pace then tack on an extra cool down?

Congrats for everyone who has gotten out!

Just got in from W1D2 and it was much harder this time. I was in a crummy mood when I left and DH and I kinda had a mini spat and I left the house in a mood. My calves were burning and I just didn't 'feel' the run this time. I cut one 1min segment short to walk it at 10sec left.

I definitely had feelings of fear how I'll run that 5k in October. Ugh.

Hopefully Thursday's run goes better.

MommyG, you could do the C25k twice over before October!

For those having side-stitches, you may want to slow to a walk, lean forward and to the right, and poke your fingers under your rib cage where you feel the stitch. It is a ligament that is getting pulled by your liver bouncing around.

Remember: You ran more than those of us sitting on the couch (me included, I coach my group W1D1 tomorrow night, using a slightly different plan). You also ran more than you did last week.

It takes 2 weeks for the body to adapt, so you may find it hard - but it is doable!

Done W1D3! It was gorgeous here today (20C) but it's supposed to snow this weekend frown Hopefully I'll be inspired to go out. My calves were pretty tight and my shins hurt a bit, but nothing terrible. I feel so different doing the program this time because I know I can do it cuz I've done it before, so I'm just excited to get to the end and be able to run again!

Keep it up everyone!

So I did day 1 two days ago and am set for day 2 today. My shins are hurting. Love that delayed pain. I don't mind it with muscles, but bones (or whatever it is on the shins that hurts), I don't like.

Teacher_Wife - Ice those shins! It will help immensely and make sure to really stretch well after your runs.

I missed my run with the group last night. frown I'm going to go on my own tonight instead. W4 for us! We're doing 3min running/1 min walking - it's not as bad as I thought it would be.

Our group leader has offered to run with us if we register for a 5k on April 14th (The Lung Run). I think I'm going to do it. Eek! I'm scared! She says we'll definitely be ready for it.

I did week 2 day 1 yesterday. It was harder but I did it. Though my shins are sore today. I blogged more about it here

As for walking pace, it depends on how I'm feeling. The better I feel the faster I walk. But after the longer runs my pace slows down for sure so I can catch my breath better.

w1 d2 completed. It was different. MIL came with me, but she didn't run (so I doubled back over and over and over again). Also, I was pushing DS in his (not running) stroller - not my idea. I got more distance. I had fun, but it wasn't as peaceful.

and w1 d3 done. Week 1 all done.
Not bad. I wore my HRM today. I noticed that for my 2nd half (running with the win), I got better distance, my running heartrate was higher and my walking heatrate was lower. Interesting.
Even running into the wind, I'm covering more distance too. That's nice.

I can't wait for my next run.

D2W2 done. I ran out in the park while DH had the boys. They went and walked by the river and I ran along the path. I managed to go 3.55km. Though my shins are KILLING me. They were my whole run. I felt like my pace was so slow (especially since I was running into the wind for half of it) but I still went further then my last one (3.49km) and now my knees and shins are both killing me. It hurts to walk up and down the stairs. Hopefully they feel better in the morning.

I finished w3d3 yesterday. I've hit a small snag in that I lost my ipod. I think it fell out of my stroller's pouch when I was loading my stroller into the car frown I had to run yesterday based on distance. Not sure what I'll do tomorrow.

Snick - I covered 3.5-3.6 in week 1-2 as well. But week 3 was less even with the longer runs so I'm interested to see what you think of week 3.

I did a google map of my route yesterday and got 3.2km. I was pretty surprised.
I need suggestions for what to do next week. DH is away for all 3 of my run days for week 3. I can't get out and run because I can't leave the kids at home alone (duh). I do have an elliptical at home and am thinking about doing week 3 twice, once on the elliptical and once on the ground after he comes back.
Any thoughts?

Yup, the distance for me is just for fun to see how far I'm going. I have the mapmyrun app on my phone (after seeing Raynn use it) to track my runs.

My knees still hurt today. Mostly after sitting for a while and then having to walk up or down stairs. I really hope it goes away soon.

I think with the elliptical, you get a lot of momentum going from the machine, so it isn't as hard... I know I find elliptical pretty easy compared to running!

Thanks Snick, TW. Sometimes I feel like I need the time to recover sometimes I feel like a lazy bum....

Speaking of bums, W4D1 just kicked mine. Pushing the stroller through the wind and rain, rocking out to the world's worst podcast on my Sony Discman (Sport!) circa 1998, I didn't think I'd finish the last interval but I did. I'm now at home freezing, yet still sweating and waiting for some kind of runner's high to kick in. I'll let you know when that happens wink
