I've had two nightmares (three if you count having the same one twice)...one is that when I go for the alterations on my dress they've accidently sold it to someone else (this is the one I've had twice and I'm tempted to call the store to double check, but I don't want to sound like a crazy-bride!!) and the other one was that our wedding times got all screwed up and we had to have the reception before the ceremony...it was really weird...

Meechie I love those syrup bottles. Where did you get them? We are doing maple syrup for half our guests and candy apples for the other half. We are looking at getting the jars and then getting one of the large maple syrup containers to fill them. It is so much cheaper that way.
I love the ring idea for your son too. It is so great that you are making him such a big part of your day.

I have been lucky so far that I haven`t had any wedding nightmares as of yet but I`m sure as I get closer things will pop up in my mind.

I am in Peterborough this week shopping for a dress for my mom and dresses for my bridesmaids. I go tomorrow with my girls which I am excited about. However it has been a little bit of a down week because my brother and sister in law who just had a baby girl a month ago have found out that she is having heart problems. We are pretty sure she has tetraology of fallot and will need surgery. They take her to sick kids in Toronto tomorrow for tests so we are all just praying that she gets better and that the doctors can help her. So other then the bridesmaids dresses which need to get ordered we are not doing too much wedding stuff at the moment.

I wrote the date yesterday and realized, holy crap - 6 months until our wedding! It kind of sent this odd, chill senstation through me. I've been very diligient with my planning, and have officially checked off all of the major things on my list (except honeymoon and rings) so I know I'll be ok - just was a little scary!

Meechie - I am definitely going to attempt those hangers! I've seen them on etsy, but couldnt really justify spending $25 on each hanger... especially when there are 4 bridesmaids and 2 flower girls, plus myself. I am also excited they come in other coloured wire too - I would love to have a dark brown wooden hanger with hot pink wire. Here's to hoping they have hot pink! (Or silver would work too...)

honeypie - so sorry to hear about your niece! I will keep your family and her in my thoughts.

I called the bridal store the other day to see if they had a status on my dress (ordered September 15th last year - oddly, exactly 1 year from our wedding!) and they said it should be in any time soon! I am SO excited to see it again, and even more excited that it will be the proper size! I haven't looked at any dresses since ordering as I was afraid I'd find another dress I liked better.

No nightmares yet - I'm sure they will start anytime now!

This is my off weekend, and I am so excited to get out and enjoy this nice weather! FH and I took down the remaining outdoor Christmas decorations this week and cleaned up the yard a little bit. Also, with the nice weather, we are trying to get out and take our little pup for a walk everyday, which in turn will hopefully get us into wedding shape! (We couldnt take him during the winter as his little paws would freeze and he would squeal...7.1 lbs yorkie poo)

I was so confused! I didn't realize that everyone moved over to this thread! Still in disbelief that in 5.5 months, I'll be all married and stuff. LOL!

Auntieli - I enjoyed the course material, we've always been very open with each other, but I thought that learning how important it is to communicate well now, instead of agreeing to work on it later was really helpful. I wasn't too worried about the NFP part of the course, I've been doing that for almost two years now.. BUT, it was nice for Paul to see that I'm really not making it up, there is a bit of a science to it.

Meechie - I ended up buying 6 of those hangers off of Etsy, I wish I knew that they aren't overly complicated to make! I assumed that the wire was going to be hard to bend, and was pretty surprised when I got mine in the mail and that the wire was so flimsy.

I only had the one wedding nightmare that I can remember, I posted about it a while back. The short story was that I got pregnant, and everyone was telling me that my dress would fit on the wedding day, when I knew that it wouldn't! Everyone kept telling me to try it on to ease my fears, and no one understood that just because it fits right now doesn't mean that it'll fit when I'm 8 mos pregnant!

With that said, I'm expecting a call any day now about my dress. I bought it mid-September, and she said it'd be in around this time. I can't wait to see it again, try it on again! I couldn't even go back to try the sample on again, they only had it in for a trunk show and don't usually stock that sample. I wonder if I'll feel any differently about it?

We booked out DJ last week.. all we have left to do is book for the cake, and transportation. How are everyone else's plans coming along?

Thanks for all the well wishes. The doctors appt went better then expected. Turns out the original tests were wrong and my niece doesn't have tetraology of fallot. She does have a hole in her heart and is still getting quite a bit of fluid build up in her lungs but she doesn't need surgery in the immediate future which is a relief. She may never need surgery but it is still a possibility. They will just monitor her for now.

The colour for top and bottom will be a chocolate brown and it will be shortened to just above the knee instead of long.

Wow I didn't realize we'd moved over to this thread - I guess I'm in denial about how close our wedding is! Yikes. Things are going well though, we're starting to focus on some details like finalizing guest list etc. I need to find a bunch of white Christmas lights for lighting in the tent, I found some on Amazon but I haven't ordered them yet. I still need to order bridsmaid dresses too, i think we're going with Bill Levkoff 586 in the Euro Eggplant colour:

We are planning on doing a "first look" beforehand (which I originally didn't want to do but it really simplifies things) so we'll do our photos and bridal party photos before the ceremony. We'll do the ceremony, then champagne/mingling, family photos then right into the ceremony. I was thinking 3pm ceremony, 5pm reception but I honestly don't know if that makes any sense. Any advice is appreciated!

We got our invitations at Michaels. It`s the one area that I am trying to do on my own. Fingers crossed. And they were on sale so we got them for an amazing price.

We are doing our ceremony at 3pm with cocktails starting at 5pm. We are doing pictures after the ceremony so the bridal party won't be at the reception until just after 6pm.

Hah, it took me 11 days to figure out we have a thread in this section now. I was wondering why the other thread wasn't getting updated anymore!

ACK today is officially the 6 month mark for me! In half a year, FH and I will be married! So excited!!! But a little worried at the same time too. I had a slightly convoluted nightmare last night that basically boiled down to talking down the aisle with a centerpiece instead of my bouquet in an unfamiliar venue, but with somebody constantly holding onto the centerpiece so it was spilling water everywhere. I guess it's not "nightmare" material but it definitely wasn't a good dream either!

Meechie, your DIY projects continue to amaze me. Your dream bouquet is beautiful too, that's so awesome that your florist can recreate it! (Which reminds me, I need to get further with my florist...)

Honey_pie, I'm so sorry to hear about your niece's heart troubles. I'm glad that there's some good news though, what a relief that she doesn't need to get surgery right away. Your bridesmaid dress is very pretty too, and I'm glad you still love your wedding dress!

Lysh, you reminded me that I need to call the bridal salon and ask when my dress is coming in. My mom has been wanting to take me shopping for shoes (she loves shoes, but I dread shopping for them!) and wants to know what the timeline is for the dress, so we know how long we have for shoe shopping. Actually, I think my mom is more anxious than I am about everything apparel-related. When we ordered the dress, the salon said it would come in around May but not to be surprised if I get a call in April. My mom said to me a few days ago, "it's almost April, when will your dress be in?!" Haha, I love her.

TnT, your bridesmaid dress is very pretty too! I have no advice on Chinese lanterns, but FH and I are leaning towards Cards & Pockets for our wedding invitations. We just need to sit down and do a mock-up of the actual invitation so we can send it in for a quote (I'm notoriously bad at cutting and gluing things straight, if we could get them to do that stuff for us that would be awesome). I felt that their prices were OK, but of course it doesn't take mounting/printing into account, so I'll have to see...

We're not doing a first-look thing, and we have a long-ish ceremony (45 minutes), we've planned for the ceremony to be at 2:30, cocktails at 6 and dinner at 7. But we have a bit of driving around to do; our ceremony and reception are at different locations about a half-hour drive apart and neither of them have any places for photos nearby. Hope that helps!

A few more updates from me. FH and his brother put down their deposits for tuxes! YAY! I went with them, and I have to say, they look VERY dashing in their garb. Totally excited for us being dressed up. The appointment went really well all around actually, and I'm glad that FBIL enjoyed himself!

I don't know if I ever posted the ones we got. I was going to get my BMs to choose any black dress, but when my sister and I were shopping for my dress she tried this one one and we both thought it was great. www.twobirdsbridesmaid.ca they got the classic, short style in black and ordered a bandeau to wear so some of the styles aren't as "revealing" as in the pictures.

we haven't done our invitations yet, but I'm leaning towards vistaprint, we got our save the date magnets from them and some return address labels too. a friend of mine got hers from there too and they were really nice.

Daydreamer - I don't think it's a big deal to have an uneven wedding party, I've had friends who did it and nobody notices...but I do agree that you should do what makes you happy (and gives you the least amount of stress!)

I haven't been doing too much wedding related in the last few weeks, but I have been doing some research for our honeymoon - we've settled on Italy for 3 weeks, I'm pretty excited! anyone else have honeymoon plans?

Meechie, I've been craving getting back in touch with my creative side too. I used to do so many creative & crafty things but that's fell by the wayside the past 2 years or so. Time to drag out the glue dots!

TnT - We're (FH & I) having our photos before the ceremony. I still have to figure out the timeline & logistics of everything too. We're all coming from different places to get photos done downtown Vancouver. Then we're having the ceremony at 4:30pm, family/group photos after that and then the dinner/reception. The ceremony & reception are very close to each other - steps away & we're able to take the group photos right there as it's in a beautiful park. That was one thing I knew I wanted - all the venues close together and photos before the ceremony. I know that doesn't work for everybody though.

Got the call this week: MY DRESS IS IN!!!

I haven't been able to go see it yet, but I am dying to see it! I haven't looked at any other dresses since I chose "the one" and I'm hoping it still is my dream dress!

TnT - glad you found us all over here! If you go on vistaprint you can actually order their free wedding sample package - they will send you some sample invites. The only issue I found with vistaprint was that the wedding invites were slightly larger than "normal" invites, and it would cost more for them to be mailed. Our ceremony is at 1:30pm, Cocktails at 5:00pm, Introductions/ First Dance at 6:00pm, and Dinner at 6:30pm. We have quite a large wedding party, plus families so we're going to need a couple hours for photos - and our ceremony, pictures and reception are all in different spots. I am leaning towards having cocktails at 4:30, and dinner at 6:00, but we shall see.

DayDreamer - glad you found us as well! And, I think my mom is more excited to see my dress than I am too! She is planning on coming up in a few weeks to see my dress and to start looking for her dress. I am still in search of the perfect shoes, and have a feeling no matter what I won't be satisfied. I also just realized that I have to walk on grass for the ceremony. I'm now worried my heels will get stuck in the grass and I'll fall flat on my face. I guess that's the extent of my "nightmares" for now.

Meechie - I love your new blog! I definitely checked it out today. I bought some wire from Michael's on the weekend and am going to attempt the hanger myself. The wire does seem pretty pliable. I'll post pics once I get it figured out. Also, your crafty-ness has got me in the mood to try some DIY projects. I am in the process of making a cake-looking card box. If it turns out, I'll post pics too! ps - heard from someone at work that Jamaica is super cheap in September if you book last minute. FYI!

aunteli - Italy sounds like an amzing spot for a honeymoon! We are debating between 2 weeks in Ireland, or 2 weeks in Hawaii/somewhere tropical right now. I am hoping to get it all figured out by June.

walkinthepark - A honeymoon first seems like a great idea. It will hopefully take away some of the pre-wedding stress!

This coming week:
1) Booking off rooms at hotels! I've been putting this off for a few months now, but since guests are starting to ask, I should get on this!
2) Start my DIY card box and bride hanger.
3) Keep researching honeymoon options (and hope that I get the 2 weeks off work!)

Meechie - I love your centrepieces! They look perfect the way they are!

So a little bit of drama surfaced last night.

FH's mother has been asking about when she can go looking for her dress (as she wanted to wait until my mother bought hers as to not buy the same colour). She told me that she would be going with a shade of brown or taupe - neither colour my mother would wear - so I told her to go ahead and start looking.

She bought her dress, shoes and purse last night - in silver/blue - the exact colour my mother had chosen for her dress! Needless to say, my mother is not impressed. But, at the same time, I can't really tell my FMIL to take the dress back...

Started being crafty today!

I am in the process of making hangers for the entire wedding party. My task involves making the words bride, maid of honour, bridesmaid x3 and flowergirl x2. So far, I have got the bride word down.

Like Meechie said, it is super easy, and there is no right or wrong way to do it. I just bent the 16 gauge wire (from Michaels) with my hands, and it bent easily. I did have some difficulty making the hearts, and could not get the last one to look quite as good I wanted it to. IMO, still looks great!

I am in the process of painting my hangers white right now, so all I have to share is the wire word:



Also, I have started working on my homemade card box. I wanted to make it to look similar to a wedding cake design. I bought fabric from fabricland today - 2 metres brown, and 1 metre pink. Previously I had purchased a x-large fabric box from winners (clearance for $9) and two smaller boxes from dollarama.

I was planning on using a glue gun to get the fabric in place - however I ended up just using an office stapler! So far I just have the 3 boxes and lids covered with the fabric. I have wooden letters I purchased from michaels (A & G) and am in the process of painting them silver. They will be glued to the bottom brown box. I also will be adding mesh rhinestone ribbon along the top of each box (to hide the staples). Here is my progress so far:

My dress came in today! They called to tell me it was in, and asked if there was any way I could pick it up, they're super tight for storage space right now. I was happy to go try it on and take it home! It's SO much better than the sample was, she even said that the sample I tried on was in rough shape. Can't WAIT to wear this down the aisle.

I need to start looking around for a bustier or something, the back is too low for even a strapless bra, and my ladies do best with some support They're FH's favorite feature, gotta make sure they're looking their best that day! Any recommendations in Ottawa? I heard that Marianne's on Merivale is good, but that their service is crap.

I have really been second guessing my decor! I picked everything out about 6 months ago, and since then I've been thinking of changing some of my centerpieces (we are using 2 different styles). Hopefully too many things won't be second-guessed!

Officially in the 3-6 months timeline!!! So excited!!!.

I love how creative you girls are. I'm still waiting for my stamp to come from modern art stamps so I can start on the candy bags for our candy bar .

I have a wedding to go to this weekend so I will only be doing wedding stuff in my mind. I hope she has some good ideas that I might be able to borrow from her .

I have done some registering these past couple of weeks. My FI is a chef so he took some interest in the kitchen area of the registries. Thank goodness because I hate to cook and have no idea what we need.

Lysh, glad to hear that your dress is in! I'd love to see pictures if you're ok with it! Ugh, shoes, I'm so dreading that part of the wedding shopping. To date I've never found ONE pair of completely comfortable formal shoes, and I really don't want to be uncomfortable in my wedding shoes. Especially with a 45 minute standing-intensive ceremony. :S I hope your hunt goes well! Maybe something with a wider heel will keep you from getting stuck in the grass?

Sorry to hear about the mother dress drama, that really sucks. Maybe your MIL will have a change of heart?

Honey, glad you've joined us here! For gifts for the parents, each parent will be getting their own photo album (I know my mom is really looking forward to it, I think FH's mom would like it as well), but I'm not sure what else to give them individually. My parents never want any presents of any sort for their birthdays, I wonder if they'd be the same for the wedding... Hmm, this needs a pondering.

Update for me: today we met with and have decided on our DJ! Yay! We need to send an email back to have another meeting to do the paperwork. The florist from earlier finally got back to me, I'll hopefully be meeting with her soon after Easter.

I've also been thinking about how our invitations would look. Last night I tried to make my own map, and I got increasingly frustrated with how difficult it is to create a line as a vector image with a way to export it as a PDF after. Ugh! I have something small in Word at the moment, but I cringe when I feel like there is a better program to be used for this...

FH is interested in reacquainting himself with the to-do lists, both in my organizer and on The Knot. When I told him "great, we have like 130 things left to do still," he said "huh, really?" Seeing all the progress you ladies have been doing that we have not doesn't help with my stress levels either Hopefully I can go through everything in more detail with FH this weekend.

Ah, and I need to call the hall about what would happen for the tasting... Tomorrow, tomorrow for sure.

Auntieli - I forgot to answer this before. NFP is super easy once you get into the routine. They didn't really mention the time-sensitivity of some of the steps, but when I first started doing it, I did the "online course" on www.fertilityfriend.com and found it super informative. I still use that site for all of my tracking, they have iphone apps (but I have a BB), and the mobile access on the blackberry isn't too bad either. Even if you don't plan on making changes until after the wedding, you might find it helpful to at least go through the online tutorial, it really does take a couple months of charting to get the hang of things and really see a pattern.

TnT - Honeymooning in Turkey sounds amazing! What made you choose Turkey? I'm not sure if we'll go on one right away, but we're hoping to go to California and do a road trip down the coast. We're only going to book flights and rent a car, everything else will be day by day!

Meechie - Love your blog! I usually have creativity coming out the wazoo.. but for some reason, nothing is really coming to me wedding-wise. I'm super jealous of all of the hard work you've put in, your guests are sure to notice, and comment on all of your very personal touches I also really like the way the candles look with the vellum around them!

Lysh - I don't know if anyone posted this yet, but have you seen these?: Save your heels! I bet no one would even notice them under your dress, and you could just pull them off after the ceremony. I've never used them, I'm more of a wedge heel girl myself, but I've heard that they work well. That's too bad that your FMIL went and bought a dress the same color as your mom's, especially if she said she was going to look for something totally different. I don't think my mom has decided on anything yet, but my FMIL bought an amazing purple dress, she lost a lot of weight this year, she's going to look great in it!

I'm kind of at a point where I don't know what to do next. This past week, I finished up some stuff for invitations, I'm debating making a map for them. I did a map for my friend's invites last summer, and just made it in photoshop. I might do the same for mine.

The dress is here, and any alterations will only be minor, so they told me to book for July. I can't start grouping guests by table since we don't know who will RSVP yes, I can start place cards, but can't finish those for the same reason. The florist told me to go talk to them more in the late spring to finalize flower choices, but I'm open to any green flower, I don't want anything other than green, no white or anything! So, again, I've done all we can do there, including buying vases.

I need to go garage sale shopping or something for picture frames, but I have yet to see a single one so far this year.

I have not had ANY luck finding green high heels. Height is negotiable, I'm comfortable in almost anything, but I'd really like something open toed. The only ones I've found so far (that I LOVED) were $320, so they're going to have to be on my "last resort" list.

Anyone else stuck in this do-nothing phase?

I don't have my heart set on any one style, but I do know that I'd like to incorporate a lot of greenery, not just flowers. I love ferns, and broad leaf plants, so I'd be super happy to have some of that in there. I'm trying to stray from traditional when it comes to the flowers, I feel like my dress is a lot more traditional than I ever anticipated choosing.

Hormonal birth control made me CRAZYY!! I was on it for about 10 years, same brand, tri-phasic. I didn't have any issues for the first 8 years, but I don't know if the product changed, or if it was just me changing, but that stuff messed me up! I tried different brands, and finally gave up. I'm proof that charting to prevent pregnancy actually works (they measure the success by those who are preventing, not those who are trying to conceive). How many night shifts do you work in a row? I've heard that it's difficult for those who do shift work to chart based on temperature alone, and that it's more important to watch the other "signs".

I feel like such a creeper lately! I can't read this thread on my laptop as the thread boots me out with those lame Google ads, so I've been trying to read on my phone at work on my lunch! I can't see who. Was talking about invitations but were getting ours printed this week! Were mailing ours out we decided in the 1st week of may as our wedding. Is somewhat of a destination as everyone is out if town and they have to book hotels.

I ordered the bridesmaid dresses a fee weeks ago now and they are slated to arrive in July! Im glad that's out of the way, UT was stressing me out! The dress I went with us an Alfred Angelo, style 7126 color is clover if you care to Google! I have no idea how to link yet!

So glad your dress is in and you still love it! Have you checked Brachic in Westboro for bras? I've gotten one from there and it's probably the best bra I own - it was expensive, but worth every penny. There's also Lilac Lingerie, I haven't tried it, but have heard good things.

Lysh yay for your dress being in! That's too bad about your MOH's dress...have you seen them, are they really close in colour? maybe it won't be too noticable (or, if you're having a dressy rehearsal supper your mom could wear hers to that!)

Honey As for parents gifts, I was so torn, but I think we've decided to do the same as Daydreamer and make them each a nice album of pictures after we get them back.

Daydreamer Have you tried making your map in PowerPoint? You take a screen shot of the google map and put it as a picture on a slide in powerpoint then use the drawing tools (lines, shapes, text boxes, etc) to trace the map, after you're done you delete the picture behind the drawing. Then you take a screen shot, paste it in Paint and save it as a JPeg. I did ours that way and I think it turned out well. (I attached an image, I hope it worked)


TnT I love the idea of smores for favours - too bad you can't cook the marshmallows anywhere - are there any local honey makers near you? They usually do favours.

Haha, I envy you ladies with nothing on your plate. I'm feeling late with doing my stuff, I'm totally not in the "nothing to do" phase. With Easter coming up and a trip in a couple of weeks, I'm definitely not bored!

Browntown, I know the Fertility Friend info wasn't directed toward me, but I wanted to thank you for posting the link. I listened through the intro videos, and it has me seriously thinking about using charting as a birth control method once FH and I are married. I'm very leery of taking anything hormonal, not only does the idea not sit well with me but past experience with just Midol making me act all screwy (I suspect it was the caffeine) has me a little paranoid. Still worth a trip to the doctor, but definitely a good thing to learn more about your body!

Auntieli, I haven't tried PowerPoint yet. I guess I just got annoyed that I have software that I thought would be able to do such a simple task but it just wasn't agreeing with me. Ah well lol. Your map turned out great!

This weekend was awesomely productive, FH and I went through our lists and removed things that we didn't really need. I feel a LOT better about everything now, I have a bigger handle on most things...

Except one.

The bridesmaids.

I don't want to get too much into it, please don't quote me on this because I'll likely delete it later... but it's just that, after going through a mock wedding ceremony at our last marriage seminar at the church today, the atmosphere and actually being there had me strongly considering asking my cousin and dear university friend to step down as bridesmaids, to just have our siblings up there, I am feeling the "DUH, of COURSE they should be there!" feeling for my sisters only and not for my cousin or friend despite being close to them. But I'm afraid to commit, I don't want to harm the relationship I have with either of these wonderful girls. And I don't really know if I have a valid reason to ask them to step down... They haven't done anything wrong, there has been no problems with them, it's all just me not feeling comfortable with how this is all going, me internally. I've already asked both of them to stand for me months ago, I can't ask them to step down when they haven't done anything wrong, can I?

Bah. FH keeps telling me I need to set aside some time to focus my attention on this, make a decision and go with it, when I'm not tired or thinking about other things. I feel like he's right, but I'm still scared to commit to something. But I need to, I need to get the dresses figured out soon. What do you think, ladies? Do I go with my gut on this? Do I wait a little while longer and see what to do then? Is it ever OK to ask someone to step down due to your own feelings when they haven't really done anything wrong?

Auntieli - I'm glad the info helped! It definitely takes some getting used to, but when you're able to see the pattern in your fertility signs, it's really easy to block off that time on the calendar as a "caution zone".

I emailed Brachic and Lilac lingerie, they both told me the same thing.. that they pretty much don't have anything off the rack, and would have to order something in my size. I've looked online, and found one that I'd like to order myself, they have a decent return/exchange policy, and I'm sure it'll work with the low back, so it's all down to the perfect fit now. I'm not going to complain about my bra size, I just wish there were more options for me, and others who have small ribs and a big rack! LOL!

DayDreamer - Glad you found the info useful as well! If nothing else, it's interesting to do the course (if you can really call it that) through email. I learned a lot of interesting things about myself.

I agree with everyone else, I think you need to go with your gut, and make your decision soon. If you choose to ask them to step down, maybe you could see if there's another way to incorporate them into your wedding. This past summer, my friend asked her two sister in-laws to read a poem at the ceremony. They mean a lot to her, but there were some friends that she wanted by her side instead. If they value your relationship the same way that you feel towards them, they'll get over it if they're hurt, and it shouldn't jeopardize your relationships in the long run. Good friends just want you to be happy.

Meechie - As always, the program is beautiful. Do you know about extra hours in the day that I don't? LOL! I'm just about done with my card box, I'll post pics when it's finished. I ran out of supplies, so I need to run by Michael's this afternoon. Did I tell you about my secret weapon? FH is a keeper, and bought me a Cricut a couple of years ago. It's been gathering a bit of dust lately, but I'm sure it'll get some good use over the summer. If anyone needs anything cut, let me know! I have enough cartridges and another program that lets me cut just about any font or shape.

I don't about the rest of you, but I was dying for this long weekend! I found out yesterday that the guys who are refinishing our hardwood are coming next week, and not this week, so I don't have to rush moving everything around and cleaning. I literally spent my whole day in my bed, or on the couch yesterday. I won't lie, I loved every second of it.

OMG, I had my first wedding nightmare last night!

I was dreaming that it was the day of my wedding and that we were hanging out at my house (which of course looked nothing like my house) and FH was playing video games (which he never plays in real life). I went over to the computer for something and my wedding checklist was there. I noticed that "BUY WEDDING LICENSE" was not checked off, so I asked FH and he said, "no, I didn't get it." So then it was a mad panic - where can we get a license, can we buy one on the same day.... we were running around and freaking out and making calls (lol) Then I looked at the time and it was one hour before my wedding. ONE HOUR!!! So I was really freaking out because I had missed my hair & makeup appointment and it will take us about an hour just to drive to our venue. Plus, we didn't get any photos taken before hand, which we're doing. I just felt like everything was off and nothing was happening the way I wanted it to go.I started crying in the car (which was a Gremlin - hahaha- FH said he got us a retro car) because I felt bad for keeping the photographer & rev waiting.

Anyway. There's a bit of my internal craziness that I woke up to this morning!

Auntieli- thanks for the idea about honey as favours. I think that's a really cute idea and I actually saw one I really liked on pinterest. We haven't been able to make a decision either way yet. Congrats on ordering your ring! That's a big thing crossed off the list. I think I'll order the ring that matches my e-ring. My fianc has an idea of what he likes but we haven't looked yet. We should soon!

DayDreamer- I hope you have figured out what you want to do. I agree with the others - do what you think is best. It is not an easy decision either way, but you need to be happy with what you decide. Good luck and let us know what happens.

Jules, Meechie, Browntown - hi!

AFM-I finally ordered my bridesmaid dresses this weekend! I ordered them from ebridalsuperstore.com to a friends house in the States, so I hope everything works out. We are still working on our timeline (i'm thinking 4pm ceremony, then family photos, appies/champagne, then 5:30pm reception) so we can order our invites. Are you girls wearing a veil? I'm still debating this.

Hi All!

I've also been reading along - mostly because I don't seem to have enough hours in the day to do everything, let alone post! I took a position at work covering a maternity leave, so I am now working 8hr shifts (10/14 days) as opposed to 12hr shifts (7/14 days) and I'm finding I have a lot LESS time than before.

On top of working, and housework, my doctor sent me to the ER department right after an appointment this week for blood work - and that took an additional 3 hours of my week away. All is well though ... just some very low hemoglobin.

I picked up more wire today from Michaels to complete the rest of my letting for my hangers. I haven't completed one completely yet, but am hoping to get that done next week! I forgot the ribbon I needed to finish the card box in Windsor... so I will have to get that next time I venture down, so my card box is still in limbo right now too.

This week, FH and I are FINALIZING the guest list. And, sadly, with doing so, our numbers rose from 145 to 189. Eeeks! I am really hoping more than 10% don't attend. The number is a little higher than the 150 we orignially were hoping for.

My invites are in the process of getting printed and put together! I am so excited to see them all done! I have been working on them with our invitation person for quite a while now.

I have also (finally) blocked off a block of rooms for the wedding! We chose to go with one of the nicer hotels in Windsor (a bit pricy) but we got a great deal for our guests. And there are MANY other cheaper options should they not choose the one we blocked rooms off at.

This weekend, my mom and sister (bridesmaid) are coming up to visit! We are going to see and try on my dress on Saturday and I am SO excited to see it again! I haven't tried on a wedding dress in over 6 months. I hope I still get that feeling when it's on! I'm still undecided on a veil for myself too ... once I see my dress on, I hope I will be able to make a decision.

Lots of little things checked off the list this week, and a major thing with the guest list!

Next week:
1) Figure out the budget for the honeymoon - then we can decide where, when, how long, etc.
2) Start looking for wedding bands!

Hey ladies! It`s been a while. I too have been reading online to everyone`s post. It`s fun to hear everyone`s ideas.

I haven`t had too much going on with wedding planning. I am definitely going with a veil. I had the idea of the veil before the dress. I always wanted a lace trimmed one. I am waiting for my dress to come in to get one though.

I had my first major wedding problem. At least I classify as major haha. About a month ago my cousin whose been engaged for two years finally set her date for middle of June which is exciting. However this past week I have been finalizing the printing on my invitations which I got from Michaels and what came in the mail but my same invitation for my cousins wedding. May not be a big deal for some people except that at least half our guests list are the same if not more. I am very upset by this. Not at her just at the situation. So now I am trying to get new invitations. All the boxed sets are either not my colour or not pretty so I am considering getting them professionally done even though that was not previously in my budget. I know some of you are doing them yourselves but for those that aren`t do you have any suggestions of where I should go in such a short time frame? I wanted to send them out end of May first of June.
