Congratulations Everyone!! I am so happy for you all. Only 11 days until my big day. Are there any Sept. 22nd brides here?? I can't remember. Good luck to anyone getting married this weekend. I hope you have a fabulous day smile.

I had my final dress fitting today and got my hair coloured. I just have to finish a few projects and then I will be all set. I can't wait until September 29th to go through the wedding steps that you have all been through. So excited!!

Good luck again to anyone getting married this weekend.

I love all the photos being posted. So beautiful smile

Congrats everybody so far!! Thanks for sharing the photos too smile Hopefully my photog will have a blog post within the next couple of days that I can share.

Everybody looks so glowing - Lysh, the smile on your face is priceless.

Meechie - loved your slideshows. The one with all the photographs is so touching, and I don't even know you guys IRL laugh Your son is just priceless! It's pretty awesome how involved he was in the wedding, something you'll all be able to look back on in the years to come, with such fond memories.

We're almost all at the wedding finish line! laugh

I think so. We have had a few last minute changes to the guest list on FH's side. So that sucks a bit because the seating chart is already to go. But oh well.

My family starts trickling in tomorrow so I am excited for it all to really begin. My last day of work is today so I will be so happy by the end of the day.

Except for the million jobs I have to do to get organized tonight I think we are in good shape.

I am so excited for the wedding. Last wedding of the Month!!!

To the Ottawa ladies:

Would any of you be interested in getting a chance to wear your dress a second time? The Something White for Something Right event at the Chateau Laurier is coming up at the beginning of November and I think I'm going to buy a ticket. I think it'd be fun if some of you would like to go too! I think we'd have to buy tickets in one lot in order to get seated together, or maybe there's someone to contact about that. Tickets are $150, and I'm 99% sure that I'll go, even if it means going alone. The only friend I have that would be interested just delivered baby #2 this week so I don't think she'll be in.

I plan on going Brown - Jamie (the co founder) was a dear friend of mine and she is the reason that I am donating my dress as well. I'd like to attend this event and then donate the dress in her honour.
I may have another Sept bride going too (from theknot.com) so it would be fun!
My only concern is that IF I end up being pregnant by then... but we'll see wink

LOL, don't worry, you'll still fit into your dress. I was almost 8 weeks pregnant on our wedding day, but unfortunately lost the baby two weeks ago.

DH is excited about this event too, so I think we'll be coming together and found a few friends who are interested as well! Looking forward to seeing you there!

Edit: Okay, so I officially bought tickets. I don't think enough of our friends will come to fill a table, I think only one other couple is in, everyone else can't make it. If anyone wants to join us, we're Jess and Paul Frangione, you can email the contact on their site to let them know if you have a seating request!

And thank you, the loss has not been easy, we had been trying for a bit so it was hard to swallow. The good news is that the Dr. gave me the go ahead last week to keep trying!

Browntown - I'm sorry to hear about your loss! I wish you all the best in the future!!

Meechie - I'm looking at your photos and they are soo nice!! I was just curious, where did you get the pew "hooks"? I noticed them in some of your photos and I would love to know where you got those. I'm thinking of making tissue flower poms and I would love to be able to hang them like you did rather than around the end of the pew.

I just read the announcement from the Admin that as of Oct 31, the boards will be no more. frown But since our weddings have come & gone, perhaps we can reflect on the planning process a bit differently now? I thought it might be fun and interesting to pose, to just us September gals, a couple of questions. Feel free to add some if you think of others.

What was the best part of your day?
What was the biggest let-down?
What are you glad you spent the money on?
What do you wish you had not bothered with?
Anything surprising about your day?

I noticed that post too - that's so sad!! I could sorta see it coming but it's really sad for our board that is actually active and supportive frown

What was the best part of your day?
There were so many awesome parts that it's really hard to choose! I really did love our walk back to the hotel after the reception, through the Byward market in our wedding clothes. It was so fun to hear all the honking and congrats yelled at us lol
What was the biggest let-down?
Sadly the only person who really upset me was my mother. First, she was so negative about her hair and makeup (even tho it looked gorgeous) just because it wasn't her every day style (isn't that why you do it??). Then, at the reception, despite me already telling her that we weren't comfortable dedicating a special dance to celebrate someone's 40th, she asked the DJ to do it before we even had our special dances with parents. She really hurt my feelings and it's still bothering me.
What are you glad you spent the money on?
Photographer - hands down! He was amazing!! And my dress - it wasn't crazy expensive or anything but it was worth every penny! The cost of choreographer was def worth it too - our dance rocked and everyone loved it!
What do you wish you had not bothered with?
Brunch the following morning - it was a big expense that we had not anticipated and it was just a pile of grease (we are healthy eaters so we weren't impressed)
Anything surprising about your day?
I was so thrilled to see how well our families came together - watching them all dance together all night long just made us smile smile

What was the best part of your day?
The vows. I was surprised at how well I was able to keep it together. I thought I'd be doing the ugly cry through most of it. It just felt so special to be saying these words in such a manner while looking into DH's eyes. I get misty eyed just thinking about it.

What was the biggest let-down?
Honestly - the reverand. We went with someone who we thought would be a guaranteed perfect guy when it came to the presentation. We even paid extra to have this specific person. He was also very flexible in what we could say and he loved the vows that we wrote and said. Everything was going just as perfect as we could imagine him being until we got to the ceremony. Nobody but us noticed he messed up on quite a few things. Some of the biggies were, he didn't explain the Sand Ceremony (which we specifically asked him to and he told us exactly what he would say), he messed up the ring presentation, he didn't tell DH when he could kiss me and he announced us as, "Mr & Mrs ...." even though we had specifically stressed to him not to do this as I'm not changing my name. He even wrote it down, we even talked about what he could say instead. Anyway, these aren't real big deals or anything - just disappointing.

What are you glad you spent the money on?
-our photos!!!
-the limo!!! We have had soooo many compliments on both.

What do you wish you had not bothered with?
-I can't really think of anything but then again, we had a super small wedding so I didn't have to do near as much as the rest of you girls.
Anything surprising about your day?
-how relaxed I was
-how well everything went
-how special I felt

What was the best part of your day?
The best part of the day was right before I walked down the aisle my dad was very emotional. He is not the emotional type but we have always had that special father daughter bond. It was just a perfect moment for us before he gave me away. Then of course walking down the aisle and seeing Joe for the first time was just such a great moment.

What was the biggest let-down?
The videographer. We had hired someone and there was to be him and one of his employees filming our day. On the day of it was just the other employee that showed up. It turns out the employee was someone we had met from another company who we did not like. We just found he was very distracting and just not what we wanted. I hope the video turns out better then what i am expecting at this point.

What are you glad you spent the money on?
The decorator. She was amazing. The flowers and decor were better then I pictured and it took so much stress off of me. I was just so impressed with everything and everyone commented on it.

What do you wish you had not bothered with
I am not sure. I think I was happy with everything. I just wish I could go back and relive it all again. I think I just wish I didn't stress so much about the little things beforehand because on the day of you just don't notice it.

Anything surprising about your day?
I agree with you walkinthepark about the relaxed feeling. I wasn't nervous. Everything seemed to go smoothly. I think I stressed about time a few times but everything went great. It was my dream wedding. I never thought I would be able to get everything I ever wanted. It was perfect.
