AB - Vivint home security system?

Does anyone have a Vivint home security system? Would you recommend them? Experiences?

They bought out apex look for customer reviews. When we installed our alarm I looked into them as they hard come to our door selling a couple of years ago. But after reading stuff about them we went with Alarm Force who has been around forever.

Hm, yes, a quick Google search shows some pretty bad reviews.

My parents also have Alarm Force but I was just curious to see how this company compared. More expensive, contract, and bad reviews. So, not talking to the sales rep again.

If they're door to door, skip them. I did research on several companies about 6 months ago before we got our alarm. The "free" alarm systems end up costing you way more in the long run and their contracts are a little scary. A company (tritan?)that came to our door, they had a clause that said they could raise the rate at any time...what's the point of a contract if they can change your rate at any time?? They also required a 5 year committment.

Anyhow...we went with ADT, been around 100 years, awesome service. Local monitoring, install was between $500 and $600 (we added a lot of extras), basic install was $200 to $300. Monitoring is $40/mth, but our insurance was reduced by $20/mth. No complaints, system works really well. I'm too lazy to search them out, but I've got a couple threads on alarms in this section about what I learned trying to figure out which was the best for us.

Make sure whoever you get is ULC approved.
