 Where is everyone?

Hi Ladies,

I'm an old-time DW WB'er. I was about to refer a gf here who is trying to plan her DW but when I came and checked it out I noticed that this forum is not nearly as active as it once was. frown

Where is everyone?

This forum was such an awesome resource to me when planning my DW in 2008.

I know that in Babybells it got split out to Canadian Family and a lot of people went to 'Buzzle'. Is there a new, more active hang out spot for brides planning their DW's?

Best to all of you!

Well, there is always Buzzle, but it tends to be a little more generic and less wedding focused, particularly since most of the people who left were already married and had moved on in their life (sort of like you seem to have, com weddings to families and babies).

I can't think of another more active wedding forum unfortunately. WeddingWire and The Knot have forums, I believe, but i can't vouch for them. I think the hope around here is that some fresh faces will find their way here and revitalize the community. I would encourage you to encourage her to come on over and join up. smile

Most people went to Buzzle but they don't really have a great wedding section. There is the old Frugal Bride and the Knot which was American but haven't been on there in years. That is all I can think of.

CB is dead...really really dead. WB is pretty dead. I am muddling through on my own with the help of some ladies I met here before it died. I'm pretty sad that all the cndn wedding forum boards seem to have died.

I think that the big thing these days is wedding blogs and probably a Facebook group or two for most brides. Still... Someone else mentioned that WB was dead like this in 2001 so I suppose we'll see what happens. There is still lots of good info in the WB archives, and a few people still here. Maybe not as vocal as before, but people are here. smile

I think there will always be a niche for a wedding forums simply because it is where brides come together to share many ideas. Wedding Blogs are good but they usually only follow one person's ideas and I personally find most blogs get boring after a while. Most Blogs end up talking about the same things again and again. And blogs you usually can't ask for feedback on what people think of something that you want to do while on a wedding forum you get almost instant feedback.

I don't know if this forum will be successful again because WB sort of shot themselves in the foot with the last Admin. She is gone but now they are starting from nothing. When they started from nothing last time in 01 wedding forums were very new. It is very possible that they will build up again because somebody is always getting married but it will take time like last time.
