We have been slowly transitioning DD to formula over the past couple weeks. Just wondering how I can tell if the formula is agreeing with DD?
We have been using Enfamil A+. This weekend she went close to two days without a bowel movement. Now she basically has one massive one a day. Is this normal for formula? I can feel her little tummy rumbling sometimes, is that a sign of gas?
At which point do you switch to a different formula?

One BM per day is normal with formula, even once every two or three days. She could also be experiencing gas as she gets used to a new type of feeding. Unless she is NOT having any BM's or is throwing up I wouldn't switch formulas.

Once every two days is OK. DS is every other day mostly. Also, yes she could have gas if her tummy is rumbling, especially if that's happening while you are feeding her. To prevent gas, I try and burp DS every ounce. If I don't do that and he guzzles, it can cause him pain.

DD is formula fed pretty much from birth and she is usually a once a day pooper!

My baby is also on Enfamil A+. He will sometimes have one massive poop a day or sometimes 2-3 poops a day. He's been on it since birth. I think your baby's poops sound normal to me!
I would only switch formulas if the baby is refusing to drink much of this kind, is super cranky and having a hard time sleeping, or if the belly looks bloated from gas. It will take about one week for a baby to get accustomed to a formula each time you switch, and it can be hard on them. We tried switching our son to a different formula a few times, and we've had disastrous results with lots of crying and gas.

Thanks so much! This eases my mind! DD had been bf until this point and usually had 4-5 poos per day. That's why I was concerned that now it's only one per day, but a huge one (not sure exactly how the diaper is holding!).
