GTA daycare - where to start looking?!

Hi mamas,

I'm only 25w pregnant, but DH's pregnant coworker has mentioned to him that we should be looking for daycare soon, like before LO is born.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of where to start? Is there a centralized list I can put my name on?

I will be on mat leave for at least 6 months (maybe longer), so I'll likely be needing a newborn daycare spot.

Also, if anyone has any specific recommendations for daycare, that'd be great.

Thanks!

Somewhere on the City of Toronto website there is a list of a whole wack of daycares. You can call them individually and find out of they take infants and how to get yourself on the list. I suggest doing it asap because it's very difficult to find spots for a baby ....

Look in to WEE WATCH. Theya re a home day care agency. We are very pleased with our lady.

but most places will have a waiting list for 1 yr olds, and or not have spots while others only take them at 18 months.

Yikes, sounds like I'd better get started. I was hoping there was a centralized list, but I guess I'll just have to contact each place individually.

Thanks for the help, ladies.
