It worked fabulously for me at night, but didn't do much for naps. Well- that's not true. It worked to get her down, but not to lengthen the naps past 45 minutes.

There's a FAQ section that explains it and then the usual idividual threads. Basically, you pick them up when they cry and put them down when they stop crying. If they get into a whining cry with no peaks (mantra cry) you keep them in the crib, make sure you're TOUCHING them, and talk to them. But if they start really crying again, you pick them up and put them down. One thing: I believe this doesn't work with a soother. However, I took the soother away super easily when I did this. But anyway, check out the forum!

Were doing a version of pupd (I think!) for nap training. Basically if DS wakes up happy, he's up for play, if he wakes up crying, he's patted on the back until he falls asleep (we started with pupd when he woke up crying after a nap but when he started sleeping on his tummy it was just easier for me to leave him there and pat him on the back beside him). DS definitely prefers s longer nap after lunch!

I should add, now at 6 months he takes anywhere from 1-10min to put down for a nap ..... At 4 months, it was taking me close to 30min .... He just recently started lengthening his naps but hopefully your LO is more open to naps than mine!!!!

We tried briefly and it made dd sooooo angry. I had never heard her cry so loud. So it didn't last long in this household.

It worked really well for us too. I can't stand listening to LO cry and can't do CIO so I really liked this as an alternative.
