 Anyone have a VW Routan?

We are needing a 2nd car for DH and are pretty sure we are getting a VW Jetta for him tomorrow. They have some really amazing deals on and have some super reduced Routans they need to get off the lot as well. We are thinking of maybe trading in my Mazda5 and getting the Routan to replace it because the a/c on the Mazda is as good as non existent and we can't live like that in TX!! Not sure we will go for it, but was wondering if anyone has one or knows anything about them.

TIA

We *had* a VW Routan.

VW lovers say that it isn't really a vw because it's made (and assembled) by chrysler. For us, we didn't love it after our transmission blew at 23,000 km. They weren't able to fix it and it had a TON of recalls shortly after buying it. But really, that could be any lemon from any lines of cars. It is the equivalent to a Town & Country and looks like a Dodge Caravan from the inside (many of the same buttons). It tends to be a bit of extra money than both those models.

We got all our money back from the Routan and bought an Odessey (they were getting rid of the 2010 models because the new, sleeker Odessey was coming out in 2011. We LOVE LOVE LOVE our Odessey.

My husband works for VW and he'd love a Routan if I let him get a minivan tongueold but even he acknowledges that there are far better minivans to get for your money. I wouldn't do it.

The Jetta however, is awesome (we each have one) - we LOVE the Jettas. I have a 2012 (so the new body style) and it's awesome.

Thanks, ALLMA. DH is loving his Jetta. We haven't talked more about the Routan, so not sure if we will go back to look at it seriously or not. The price is great though.
