Very happy that a lot of us are still together in another place though, and yay for FB. But I will always be grateful to WB for getting me through some tough and happy times too.
Sad to see all of the great info and history in here just disappear!!

Wow, I had no idea there was such anger going on in here.
Once again, the source of so many conflicts on these boards is PERSPECTIVE. I am still on Wb and on buzzle. I don't think the buzzle threads were 'recruiting" threads, I think they were just trying to give info about the new forum for those who wanted to check it out, that's how I found out about it, because I sure as hell am not on the WB FB page anymore. So i was happy for the info.
I just don't understand all the hostility, really. I don't have a ton of extra time, but I haven't found it too hard to check in on both sites. WB/CF is definitely slower (literally, CF is for me. Takes sooooooo long to load on my computer, I rarely go in there, but that is a tecnical issue), and buzzle has more content going on right now. If you want to check out buzzle, cool. If you don't want to, that's cool too. No skin off my nose! I definitely don't see it as something worthy of lashing out at former "friends" on WB.

I do have one question though...after this initial surge of members from WB, will there ever be any new members? Or is it just meant to be for former WBers? I like newbies, we were all newbies once. How does a forum survive long term without any new fresh blood, KWIM?

I'm an only, and I liked it for the most part. We did seriously consider having DS as our only, but then DH got the itch (he has a sister), and since we are old, we tried sooner rather than later.
I do feel like I will have to take care of my parents in some way. Mine are divorced, my mom is single. dad is remarried and they never had kids. I fear I will get stuck with my stepmom, and we aren't best friends. My mom was a will and power of attorney all done, but not my dad and stepmom, even though I have asked them to repeatedly. so yeah, gonna get stuck with it.

I disagree, a lot of us had been trying to get MISC back to fun chatting, and it was going pretty well. The recent complaint was that the boards seemed to be neglected...lots of span, not responding to issues, etc.
The fact that they pretty much said "go to hell" and find a new place is so high schoolish to me. And with that, once I pop this kid out in a few months, I am out of here. I don't care to "support" these forums anymore if that is their attitude.

Well, I counted all the ones we own, like the question asked, but we don't use them all. We have 5. 3 are used actively...one in the living room, our room, and kitchen. We also have one that was in my old craft room for when I was working on Etsy shop orders, but we recently moved my craft area to another space, and don't have the TV hooked back up yet. We also have one in our camper trailer, which is obviously only used when we go camping in the summer. Nicest one we have though, it's a flatscreen, LOL!

We do, but rarely use it. It is on Disney channel in the morning for DS sometimes, especially if it is just one of us home alone with him trying to get ready for work. Sometimes I turn ont he news before bed to watch the weather while we are getting ready for bed.
DH's smartphone in the bedroom is WAY worse than the TV. I usually fall asleep to the glow of him checking his work emails, or reading a book on his phone.

Maybe it is because I live in the Dairy State, but I love me some butter. Not that margarine crap. Although I get light spreadable butter with canola oil, but it is still mainly real butter.
I almost always butter my bread before I put PB and jelly or jam on my PB&J sandwiches. Am I alone in this? Especially if it is a toasted PB&J, then you definitely butter the toast before putting PB&J on.
My DH thought it was weird, but that's how I grew up eating them, my mom does it too.

I think now that his daughters are almost full grown, he may "un-retire" and come back in a few years. Although I don't think his shows will be quite as crazy as they used to be, he is probably getting a bit too old to be swinging from the rafters anymore

I would love to see him and his wife trishia yearwood do a tour together.

There was a good year where we were pretty content with just having one. I was an only child, and there were some good things about it that I really liked.
But once DS neared 2, and he got to be more independent, we thought that we would like to go for 2. DH has one sister, and I think he really wanted a sibling for DS. We are old though too, and had a history of m/c, so really needed to try sooner rather than later. I would have been OK waiting another year, but didn't want to risk having difficulties and delaying things even longer. We are definitely done with 2 though.

I saw a family with one of these a few months ago when we were at a museum, and actually went and asked her about it. She says they love it. The older child can either sit or stand on the spot near the handle, while the younger one gets the front seat.
Looks slick, but we weren't planning on a double stroller since DS will be almost 3 when DD arrives. But DS still doesn't mind riding in his stroller, so maybe this would be a good option for outings with both kids? I think if he had the option of standing on the stroller, it may work better for our needs?

My uncle bought an already existing tavern in a small town with an old (haunted!) bowling alley with 4 lanes upstairs about 10 years ago. Sadly, he lost a lot of money with it, and sold it after 2 years. But I also think he just relied on his rep and the rep of the tavern itself instead of doing real marketing and such, if that makes sense.
AND it is A LOT of work. You never get a weekend off, let alone vacation time.

Oh Chicago...we got engaged there in the park next to the Art Institute.
I love Chicago. The iconic place to get the original, best deep dish Chicago style pizza is Gino's. The line can be long, but it is worth the wait!
The Museums there are top-notch. The Natural History Museum and the Museum of Science and Industry are fantastic. And the nice thing is that they are all relatively close together and right on Lake Michigan. The Planetarium is awesome, but I love space stuff and stars, so I dig that. It is within walking distance of Shedd Aquarium too. I haven't been to the aqarium in years, and it is supposed to be better than ever with additions over the years.
Millennium Park is worth a walk through. In the summer there is a nice place to hang out there and get drinks in the freh air and people watch. Awesome water display there you can wade around in too.
If you are old school, check out the Macy's downtown. Until about 5 years ago, this was the classic Marshall Fields. It is the old type of shopping mall where escalators go up the center and each floor is a different department. They have a really yummy candy shop in there on the ground level

Wish it was still Marshall's though.
Don't know much about bars though, sorry! Although you can catch some great broadway shows there, might be fun to do with a group of friends. We saw Wicked there the day we got engaged.

I was thinking about this lately, and wondering if DS (2.5) will have any memories of his life thus far?
I have a few fleeting memories of my young years. I remember my mom putting me in my carseat behind the driver's side in an old light blue Volkswagon Beetle when i was a baby. She just about fell over when I told her that a few years ago, because she said they only had that car for about 6 months after I was born.
I also remember my Dad yelling at me for slamming a dresser drawer and breaking a knick knack on top of my dresser. My parents separated when I was 2, so I couldn't have been much older than my DS is now.
So what is your first real memory, and how old were you when you had it? I think it is just interesting, the human mind and all.
