My guess is that it's a peace lily, which, yes are highly toxic to cats (which of course, leads to cats always wanting to eat said plant..funny how that works!)
We have one. We have to keep it on top of the book shelf in our spare bedroom, with the door closed so that the cats can't get it.
If you don't have a room where you can keep it behind closed doors where your kitty can't get at it, I agree with BAC and Ms_Married, toss the plant. Much easier than having a sick cat on your hands.

In my board, no we cannot cash out our unused sick days.
We are on what is called an Evergreen system, which basically means that we can have up to 4 sick days in a row without a doctors note, after 4 days you need a note and go on extended leave. Once you come back from your sick days, you start again at your Sick Under 4 Days status (evergreening). So we can use them as little (or as much) as we need. We don't have a set number of sick days each year.
It'll be interesting to see what our negotiations will look like. They are set to start up right away...

I agree with you, Ruth.. I would hate to see those discussions banned as well. I was just using the term that was thrown out by admin, and a few other posters (no kid talk allowed).
My main question was related to having a description that fits both WB and CanFam for what the "unwritten rules" are for what is included in Misc. talk.
Since it will now be 2 forums, those that are new to either forum should have some clarity available to them to avoid what you were talking about

So here's my question...
If we re-name misc. to say, something along the lines of,
Random daily events*** (no kid-talk allowed)
Is that the title that will show up on WB as well? Or just on CanFam? the part in brackets seems a little irrelevant to show up on WB (since they want it to be solely related to weddings), BUT - we are also saying that we want wedding-related topics to stay out of Misc - do we include that in the description as well? so that new members who join WB don't start inundating Misc (which, is accessible on WB, but will link to CanFam) with wedding talk?
So:
Random daily events (no wedding or kid talk allowed)
Does my post make sense? I feel like it's all over the place...
**disclaimer: I couldn't remember the term that was being thrown around like 5 pages ago with the suggestion of what to re-name misc, so I just threw this one in there.

Valentine's day gifts have just never really been our thing. Without sounding too cliche; I love the guy every day of the year, I don't need one day to proclaim my devotion to him.

I use Burt's bees peach and willowbark exfoliator
I love it! I have SUPER sensitive skin, and I had a heck of a time finding something that didn't completely dry me out every time I used it. It's all natural (so no chemicals to dry out the skin) and the ground up peach pit is a great exfoliator, but the cream is nice and thick for moisturizing.

You just need an AMEX to pay for the tickets.
Be warned...the tickets that they get are not great. I used the AMEX pre-buy for coldplay, and the only tickets I could get were in the back corner of the Saddledome, and high up. So I decided to wait for regular pre-buy (with a code) and the seats were much better.

We (DH and I) wake up and spend a quiet morning together, drinking coffee opening our gifts to each other, snuggling on the couch, cuddles with our kitties - seriously - one of the greatest mornings of the year, and I SOOO look forward to it! We then head over to my parents place to open gifts with them, and have brunch. Then to the IL's in the afternoon for Christmas dinner and opening with his family.
This varies each year, because my side of the family alternates Christmas dinner to be on either Christmas day or boxing day so that every other year, we can have Christmas dinner with our significant others' family on Christmas day. So this year, my family dinner is on Boxing day. On the years that we have dinner on Christmas day, we go to DH's parents to have dinner with them and open gifts with his family on Christmas eve, then have Christmas morning together alone, then go to my parents' place to open, then travel to whoever is hosting Christmas that year in the afternoon for dinner and Chinese gift exchange.

Hands down, my most fav gift was given to me by DH (FH at the time) on our first Christmas in our new house together. He gave me a card that said, "Now that we have this new house to share together, I think we should add to our family." Along with the card was a gift - I opened it up and it was a calendar full of kitties, with a handmade certificate taped to the front, explaining that I should start researching, and that when I found the most perfect cat to adopt, DH would buy him for me.
In the beginning of January, I finally found *THE* cat on the website for a rescue shelter in Strathmore. As soon as I saw him, I knew he needed to be ours.
It was so great for so many reasons: I love animals and I got to rescue one, it was 'ours' (DH and I), and I was excited from Christmas day until the day that we picked him up about the gift - it wasn't just over on Christmas Day.
This was Ollie the day we brought him home:

I hear ya, tojules!
DH was out 3 times yesterday to shovel the snow. Sunday's have been our "Wacky and Weird Weather Day" for some time now! I've been keeping track because we go to Yoga every Sunday, and it always seems that the weather is different on Sundays when we head out! The past 2 Sunday's we have gotten quite a bit of snow (last Sunday was a snowfall warning), the Sunday before that was the crazy Hurricane wind storm. The Sunday before that it was like 16 degrees.
And now it's bright and sunny again today!

DH: $400
Grandma: Chipping $20. 11 grandchildren are each putting in $20 to buy her a Keurig, some k-cups and a holder.
Mom: $175 - including her stocking stuffers.
Dad: $100 - including stocking stuffers.
BIL: $140 - I only have to buy for one person on DH's side, we draw names and you buy that person's gift and stocking stuffers.
Ladies gift: $120 - On my Mom's side of the family, since there are so many of us, we each buy a gift around $100.00 and put it under the tree (ladies buy for the ladies, and men buy for the men) then we draw cards and do a Chinese gift exchange.
grand total: $955.00

We don't have a budget set for each other. I usually spend more on him at Christmas time than he does on me. But it works out, because he usually spends more on me for my Birthday than I do on him. So I don't feel guilty, or upset if I get less than him. I'm actually so excited to give him his gifts at Christmas, that I don't care what he's gotten for me!
I love seeing his expression/reaction when he opens the gifts that I buy him. That is the BEST gift!
