Oh no. I feel bad for your friend. New at photography and offering low price is one thing, what amazes me is that he felt comfortable enough to not even try hard and just socialize! He has no respect for how important this occasion is to people getting married.
We are spending a large part of our budget on our photography because it`s the one thing that stays long after we have ate all the food, drank all the wine, and partied all night. We are pretty confident in our photographer. We`ve seen her work for an entire wedding and we know we are getting good shots.

I'm from Toronto and most weddings the centerpieces were given away. I did go to one wedding where it was rented, and they had servers come in and take them away almost as soon as dinner was finished and dancing began. But it would work too if you can get a server to stand outside after dinner for awhile to make sure nobody leaves with it. If you have enough friends and helpers, you can try to assign people outside to watch guests leaving and make sure nobody leaves with it, and have people can be on rotating duty? I've also been to one where there was a silent auction with the money going to charity.
Another option is to give away the florals, have something for them that they can wrap the flowers home in, and keep the vase. When the game is played, make sure the MC makes it very clear that the vase is not theirs to keep but someone will help them wrap the flowers after dinner for them to take home.

Dominican Republic and Cuba tend to be more affordable, so you're probably able to get that kind of deal. For Mexico the best deals I found was on Expedia, flying non-direct (not last minute though, I like to plan things in advance, hence I'm on this board LOL). Expedia has bookings to DR as well but not to Cuba (since they are based out of the US).
My friend went to Cuba during hurricane season and she said the rain was like clockwork would only come in the afternoon, rain heavily for half an hour max and the sky would clear up.
Good luck!

Before I can sell my small townhouse and move in with my soon-to-be-husband, we need to give my place a complete cleaning. On the list is to get the one-car garage cleaned up. There are some old leaves and dirt tracked in. The garage is concrete floored, but has downward steps that goes into the townhouse basement. Who can I speak to about doing this? I have asked a maid service who said they don't cover this. I have mile asthma and dirt/dust does not go well for me otherwise I would do this myself.

Fiance and I got the whole bridal group together for lunch.
One of the groomsmen is a long-standing good friend of my fiance, he means well and is a good person, but he talks too much. He hogs the conversation and drones on and on. Two of the other bridal party gently told me that they found it well... a bit annoying. How should we approach this situation and let him know in some way while not offending him?
Since we both read a lot, I've tried subtly raving about the book "How to win friends" from Dale Carnegie, but to no avail. He said he's had the book for ages but never bothered to read it.

I actually had a positive experience there (at the Eglinton & Laird location). I like the large dressing rooms, you get your own rack and choose what you want. The sales person wasn't pushy, allowed me to try it on on my own and knocked once in awhile just to check we were ok.

Re: Which picture should I pick?
My vote is for number 3! You can't go wrong with classic black and white photography and the lighting on that pic is just amazing!...

I know a lot of you have already brought your dress. Do you know any great bridal shops here in the GTA that you can recommend? Obviously a good selection, but also good service and one where they don't pressure you.

Yes, I'm trying to stick to the budget.

Thanks to all your advice so far. Malkynn - what is difference in the type of the weave then?
I'm wearing it for a July wedding but it will be indoors for ceremony and reception, just the photo taking may be outdoor. Most of the times I'm cold in indoor places so I think I should be fine either way. Is there a fabric/weave I should be concern about?

Hi,
I am getting a dress made because I really like a design (Anjolique 1010, made of silk, photo here:
http://www.anjolique.com/ourcollection/largeview.aspx?id=364), but I would like to design my own beading. The original Anjolique dress is made of silk. What would be the best alternative? Satin or taffeta?
Thanks in advance for your guidance
