It was so sad. I had never heard of a baby with no brain before. That in itself is horrible enough. But then to have to go through the rest of the pregnancy and carry the baby to term when you know there is no hope for it has to be the hardest thing in the world. Knowing you're going to go through all that, including labour, and yet you still won't have a baby.
I love that she is going to give the baby's organs away. It doesn't fix anything for her but it will go a long way to helping her accept what's happened and eventually move on.

We have a regular mattress although we did buy a mattress protector (you can get them from any place that sells mattresses) and it's water proof. We actually got one for our bed when we bought our new mattress f(or warranty reasons) and thought it was so great that we bought one for ODS' bed too. It's great and now whether they're in their own bed or in ours, I don't have to worry about potty accidents or puking accidents. So basically we have bed, waterproof protector, sheet.

Do you know if it's been cancelled? If so, I'm wondering if there is even a point in watching the ones we have on tape.

I would think the answer would be obvious but I wanted to see what you guys thought. I went to see the Hunger Games last night in theatres and for anyone who has seen the movies...or even just read the book...you know it is violent. There was actually a mother and father who brought there LO to the Hunger Games (I'm guessing he was 3). I'm sorry but IMO that is WAYYY too young to be seeing a violent movie like that. They stayed for the whole movie and I kept cringing at a lot of the scenes knowing that this little guy was watching it as well.
When my friend and I left the theatre, my friend went up to the mother and just mentioned she thought the movie was probably a bit too violent for a 3 year old to see. She said it politely and then started to walk away. Then the lady kinda called out that her son wouldn't understand the movie. That's when I couldn't keep quiet any longer and I told her that it was an inappropriate movie for a little kid. I said he is old enough to see what is going on and become scared by it and that it was pretty sad that two strangers were more concerned for her childs welfare then she as a parent was. I told her she should be ashamed of herself and then we walked away.
Maybe you might not agree with me saying something but I just had to. Maybe she won't even care what I say. But maybe...just maybe something will sink in and she'll think about it before she does it again. I think that even if he didn't understand what the movie was about, he is seeing people being stabbed, screaming for help, being eaten alive, etc. That is enough to give him nightmares. I felt bad for the poor boy.
Thoughts? Would you take your child to a violent movie?

So I saw the movie last night and really enjoyed it. I thought they did a great job and really stuck pretty close to the book. The shaky parts didn't bother me at all and I'm glad they used fairly unknown people in the movie.
Side note: I saw a mother bring her 3 year old to the movie. WTH!! That is NOT a movie for a 3 year old. It is way too violent.

I thought it was a good but heartrenching episode. I felt so bad for Richard. How hard it must be to see your wife, the woman you love, in love with another man. That must just break his heart. He definitely showed his strength when he said good-bye to Adele and let her 'new love' sit beside her.
And the whole kidnapped girl story was so heartbreaking. It just felt so real and showed a side of that story that I don't think most shows show. What that poor girl went through. I love the actress who played her. I loved her in Gilmore Girls and I love her in Switched at Birth. She did a great job.

I saw this movie last night at a preview screening. I'd read the book which I loved so I was excited to see this movie and thought it was going to be awesome. I was totally disappointed. The movie sucked! There was no chemistry between the two main characters, the movie was choppy and didnt flow at all, and things werent explained properly that shouldve been for the movie to make more sense. I get that some things will be different because movies are never really the same as the book but they changed too much including the dramatic scene at the end.
That shouldve been an amazing movie too based on the book.

So DH and I currently have two LOs. We're considering possibly having a third. It's not an easy decision and some days we think we should just stick with 2. We have two healthy, happy boys. They're both getting old enough that we'd start travelling as a family. We're evenly matched parents to children. Other days we want a third. We'd love for them to have another sibling, another baby for us to love, we can put off travelling for a few years, we'd be outnumbered but we can live with that, I don't think we're done. We're just so back and forth from one day to the next. Obviously what you say won't make our decision for us but I'd love to hear any stories or advice you have.
So....if you have 3 (or more) children, is it way harder then you thought it would be? Is it good with more? Share any stories or advice. TIA!

Keep them for the new baby. We have A TOOONNNN of toys at our house but I haven't gotten rid of anything because we're not sure whether we're done having kids or not. Once we are done having kids and they've outgrown stuff, it will sure be nice to get rid of some stuff. I will keep a few things though for my kids to have when they have kids because I think that's cool.

I'm just curious if anyone else ever had a nightmare about labour. When I was pregnant with my first DS I had a nightmare that something was going to go wrong in labour and that I was going to die giving birth. It was such a realistic dream and it terrified me. I thought about that dream when we were pregnant with our second. Now, we're considering having a third and again the dream is on my mind. I'm kind of terrified that I'll die during labour and leave my poor DH to raise 3 kids all by himself. Oy vey!!
Has anyone else had a nightmare about labour or giving birth?

I've only had two so I can't speak about having a third but it's interesting to read the stories here. My first was 20.5 hours from first contraction to birth. My second was 4 hrs 17 mins from first contraction to birth. The nurses and doctors told me that if we ever have a third to get to the hospital the minute I have my first contraction as they don't think I'll be in labour long at all. My second would have been here even faster if my waters had broken on their own.
I agree with Irish. The longest labour was the easiest. I also had an epidural and it was heavenly and lasted the whole labour. Even though I had an epidural with my second, because he was coming so fast it didn't help near as much and I felt like it only helped for a very short while.

So ODS woke up at 3am coughing up a storm. I'm talking coughing so bad that it sounded like a croupe cough. He coughed for a good 15 minutes and even puked a few times because he was coughing so hard. Once it calmed down I put Vicks Vapor Rub on his chest and feet, gave him some Advil, and put him in our room with the humidifier on. He fell asleep pretty quickly. This morning he coughed a few times but that was it. Poor little man even has red dots (I can't remember what they're called) all over his face from coughing so hard.
He hasn't been sick or anything. It has happened to him once or twice before. Any idea on what this is? It's weird that it just comes up out of the blue.

I went to see it with DH the other night and I loved it. Channing does such a good job in the role and really makes you feel the sadness and despair he feels and losing his wife.
I bawled at the part at the wedding when he looked at her and said "how do you look at the person you love and realize it's time to walk away" or however that line went. Me and every other woman in the theatre were sobbing. It was soooo sad. I imagined myself in his position and it's just heartbreaking.
I loved at the end though when he suggested they go someplace new. Instead of going to a place they used to go to they go somewhere new so they can make new memories together.

Thanks for all the stories and advice! I'd love to get it done for the mere fact that I would probably have very few sore throats after that. But I'm not sure if the pain from it is worth it or not yet. I think I may wait and see how the strep throat goes as I've never had it before this year. If it doesn't come back every two months like it has been then I'll hold off. If it does keep coming back then I'll probably bite the bullet and get the surgery done. Worse then childbirth....oy vey. LOL.

So I've had strep throat about 4 times in a half a year. The doctor said my two options are to either just keep going in for medication when the strep throat comes back. OR to get my tonsils taken out. Although he did say that having tonsils taken out at my age (early 30s) is not pleasant at all.
So I'm wondering, have you ever had them taken out? How old were you? Did it hurt? Knowing the pain it caused, would you go through it again if you had to start over or would you have prefered not to have them taken out?
