Ideas for "loot bags" for school
It's a common thing at DS's school. At the beginning of each month we get a calendar with the activities going on for that month....
It's a common thing at DS's school. At the beginning of each month we get a calendar with the activities going on for that month. (ex: show and tell day, library day, gym,...) It also has the birthdays being celebrated that month. So far, he has received loot bags for every birthday except one and there have been about 8 birthdays.
I really like the book idea!
Just wanted to add that he also gets loot bags (sorry don't know if that's what I should be calling it) for Halloween and Christmas. Not everyone did it, but out of 20 students, he brought home approximately 12-15 bags.
I personally think it's a waste. I mean how many pencils, erasers, stamps, stickers,... does a kid need! But I feel bad not sending something, especially for his special day.

Just to give you an idea of what he has received from the other kids in his class on their birthday:
-Playdoh
-growth cart
-pencil, eraser and notepad
-coloring book with 4 crayons attached
Also wanted to mention it has to be nut free and egg free.

We received a notice today telling us what the activities are for Monday and at the bottom it said something along the lines of "if you want to send in a treat for your LO's friends, make sure it is non-edible".
Do people normally send in a little something? Like lootbags for the class? DS is in JK so this is my first experience with this kind of stuff. What would I send anyways? Halloween stickers, pencils, erasers,...

I do and I hate having it there! I was over at my neighbors house for the first time on Thursday and noticed she didn't have one. All the clean dishes she had washed from lunch were in her sink. (she has a double sink, so they were all on one side)
So yesterday I went out and got myself a Rubbermaid dish rack that fits inside my sink. I tryed using it but just couldn't get all the dishes, glasses, pots and pans to fit. I also have a double sink so I had filled up the side without the dish rack with hot soapy water. As I was washing an item, I had to pile it on the dish rack which was a pain. I'd rinse the glasses, go back and wash the dishes and put them in the dish rack but that would make the glasses all soapy again!
How does everyone do it? Do you just have a dish rack on your counters? It was too much of a pain for me so I'm just going to switch back to having the dish rack on my counter, even though I hate the look of it.

I'm conducting some personal research as I've been presented with the opportunity to switch DS from PM to AM JK class. We really don't have much experience with the morning rush since I've always been a SAHM and never had to get him out the door in the am.
Having said that, DS is usually up at 7:30am. The bus would pick him up at 8:10am. I'm thinking he may be better suited for the AM class because lunch time has become a complete disaster. DS is a slooow eater and I'm constantly having to tell him to eat his lunch so we don't miss the bus. Yesterday he even told me to stop rushing him. I feel so bad constantly saying that to him. But I have to, otherwise he won't eat anything! Today for example he left the house only having eaten half of his PB and J sandwich.
Breakfast is different. He eats quicker and actually eats his breakfast. So I'm thinking I may have to get him up 15 minutes before his usual wake time to get him out the door on time. This way he will have all the time in the world to sit down and have a leisurely lunch.
So I'm curious to know what time your kindergartener gets up in the morning AND what time do they need to be out the door?
Also, would appreciate any opinions on the matter. Should I switch him?

I have DS' change of clothes all packed up and ready to go, but a thought occured to me... What exactly did you all send to school as your change of clothes in case of an accident? Our change of clothes won't be going back and forth everyday. They are to stay in DS' cubby until the end of the school year.
Mine is long jogging pants, long sleeved t-shirt, underwear and socks.
Now I'm thinking I should also send a short-sleeved t-shirt in case it is warm on the day he has an accident

Just to clarify, I'm not a photographer. I'm trying to find a photographer to take some pics of DD modeling my stuff. I will be using these pics on my FB page, soon to be website and all the shows I attend.
In return for the pcitures and the photographers time, I am willing to leave her/him a few of my goodies that they can use as props for future photoshoots with other kids.
Before I started contacting photographers, I wanted to get opinions on whether or not this is a fair request. I'd be giving full credit to the photographer by keeping the photog's logo on all pictures and off course refering all my clients to her/him.

Arg!!! I have a FB fanpage for my business. I found out this morning that some other seller who offers the same product I do, stole some of my pics and is using them on her page, passing it off as her own work.
I've already contacted FB about this, but was told (by my friend) it could take days before anything is done. What exactly will be done anyway?
I'm so angry! I want to write on her wall and tell her that I know what she did. Her fans commented under MY pictures saying "Wow your work is so nice", "You are so talented",.... It's NOT her work!!!
Teaches me to watermark my pictures from now on. It's so sad that it has to come to this.
Should I say something to her on her FB page?

UPDATE:
Okay Ladies, so yesterday I wrote on her page wall and commented under my pictures. Basically telling her to please remove my pictures from her page since it's not her work. I also put a link to my page for everyone to see the originals. I told her that I notified FB.
A couple of hours later I get a FB message from her that reads:
"Hi. I can't believe this has happened. I am as shocked as you are.I have been so busy with orders that I have started purchasing (product name here - removed so WB doesn't think I'm trying to promote what I do) from a wholesaler. I in turn sell them for a small profit. I got these pictures from the wholesaler fully thinking it was their work and not yours. I can't believe they did this to you and believe me I won't be buying from them anymore. I will remove the pictures immediately."
Ummm OKAY!!! Does she expect me to believe this!
So I sent her a message back saying "Please provide me with the name of the wholesaler. I will be taking legal action."
I still haven't heard anything back and to be honest, don't expect to.
Two of my girl friends also made snarky comments under my pictures to her. My pictures are now off her page.
It's so sad that people run business' this way. I spent yesterday evening watermarking all my work. It was a pita, I had to delete all my pics on FB and replace them.
