At my work you have to put in your request at least 2 weeks before you want to take vacation and it's first come, first serve. Our office is large so 5 people can take vacation at a time so if the 5 spots are taken, you're out of luck but if the spot is free, its yours!

When I shared laundry facilities this drove me nuts! I always felt awkward about touching someones laundry but honestly, if they leave it in there that long you can totally take it out. I used to always just hope that they wouldn't come into the laundry room while I was taking out their laundry, but would do it all the time.

I've only ever gone for Brazillian waxes but I have been told that since I'm pregnant it will be way too painful so I booked a regular bikini wax for this evening. I don't really know how far in they go on a regular wax, so I'm wondering, do you wear your underwear, or take them off like a Brazillian?

I do 70% of it but DH does the laundry if he needs/wants something clean. And if its say a dark pair of pants he will do a load of dark clothes which includes my clothes or whatever else is in the "dark" basket. He would never ask me to do it for something he wants.

On the weekend its super packed so be prepared for people passing you and getting stuck behind slow people. The people who do it are totally varied from athletes to tourists in flip flops. I kid you not. I personally think it's a pretty over-rated hike but it is on the list of things that you should do at some point, especially if you live in the Lower mainland. The view from the top is beautiful. It takes me just under an hour and I would say that I would say that my fitness level is moderate.

What I learned at blockwatch training is that if a crime is in progress you call 911, if you're reporting a crime that happened (like your car got broken into) you call the non-emergency line. In this case, I would say a crime is in progress? If you call 911 and its not an emergency then they will just tell you to call non-emergency.

I went to a wedding that was in the middle of nowhere that had a two hour gap without cocktail hour or entertainment - it was brutal. Some people watched the bridal party do their photos others just sat around totally bored. It really killed the vibe going into the reception.
Instead of having a three hour gap could you do some of the photos before hand such as the photos of just the guys while the girls are getting ready and then photos of just the girls. Then between the ceremony you only have to do the combined photos which should cut down the amount of time that the guests would have to occupy themselves.

I used Cora of corasphotography.com and loved my photos! A friend of mine used Gucio gucioblog.com. Another one to look at is Carol-ann carol-annphotography.com. I had a quick look at her site and her rates are very reasonable. My co-worker used her for her wedding and was very pleased.
I def. think that you can get good photos for under $3000. Another thing to think about is how long do you want the photographer for? A whole day is obviously going to cost more then the ceremony and formals only...

We used Honeyfund. It allowed us to ask for experiences rather then just money. Like horseback riding on the beach, or evening cocktails, etc. I thought it was nice because then people are giving you the gift of an experiance rathen then the money just getting lost. But really they're just giving you cash so if you don't really need the 30 bottles of champagne that you asked for you can use it for something else. Also, its free. :-)

This is a very late reply to this post, but I wanted to caution anyone considering using Eleanor. She stole $900 from me. I paid her a deposit to make a dress for me which she never produced, and she refuses to give me back my money. I ended up having to scramble three months before my wedding, and ended up wearing a sample dress (luckily I'm sample size). I'm planning on taking legal action against her to reclaim my money (or at least part of it).

Mine got forgotten when we left for the ceremony but luckily we didnt need anything. My MOH had my lipgloss, sunglasses and flipflops and that was all we really needed.
If I were to do it over again, I would just have one at the reception venue for just in case, because you can always fix whatever when you get there, but overall dont really see the need to lug it around for photos and everything.

Five grown adults (over 25) gave us a combined present of $83 (all small bills, I suspect they just emptied their pockets with what they had and this is what they came up with) as our wedding present. I will note that none of them are suffering financial hardship. Now, I realize its not all about presents and Im thankful that they thought to give us anything, but Im wondering how to word the thank you card. The parents live together (combined their share would be $33) and the three kids all live separately and received separate invitations.
Question 1 Should I send three thank you cards? Or just one since it was a combined gift?
Question 2 Can I just write thank you for coming and celebrating with us, it was great to see you? Or do I have to acknowledge the gift? If I acknowledge the gift do I really say what I did with it it bought me lunch, or do I say it contributed to the purchase of (insert something bigger)?
