Maybe there are different kinds of surrounds or something. I remember the caulking being different. It was really dry or something.

I hope you have better luck like everyone else seemed to have!

I've never given N spagetti yet. I think DH would keel over. He's afraid they get dirty. *rollseyes*. They're kids, and boys at that!
Does Hunter really use a spoon/fork by himself???? Gosh, N is so far away from that, it seems!

Dh and my dad installed one in our old house.
It was a PITA. If it weren't for my dad having done a few before, it would have been a disaster. If you do diy, make sure you account for the tub not being level. Take measurements from a few places on each side, and cut accordingly.
Ours was installed over tiles. The tiles had to be "roughed up" beforehand.
We also had huge problems with the caulking not sticking to it well. There were only certain types that you could use with the tub surround, and once the bathrub shifted at all (when filled with water, or when we stepped in it), the caulking cracked.
We decided that we will never again do a surround, unless it's one of those one piece ones, tub and all.

I'm not totally disagreeing with PP's, but did want to share my experience. Not Christmas, but March break though.
A few years ago, we booked on the friday before March break and left the following day. While we didn't get a 5 star, we still had a great time. We went with the best of what was left. It was 3.5 star, but we booked it with the expectation that it wouldn't be perfect. We ended up paying $799 each, plus tax, less than 24 hours before departure.
I would say, if you wouldn't be heartbroken that you couldn't go, wait. If you are totally set on going, book something in advance.

I don't use the creamers at all. I just buy espresso and heat and froth my own milk. I don't like the tassimo creamers.
I love the Starbucks coffee. The others are fine.
If I were a flavoured coffee drinker, I'd definitely go keurig, but, being a latte drinker, I'm happy with my tassimo!

MommyD, I hate when LO's are sick. I hope Lee is feeling better soon!
Noah is getting over something. He still has a cough. I'm pretty sure it was just a cold. We've all had it. I'm on my third in a month and a half.
So, is anyone doing anything interesting tonight? You'd never guess what I just did?????? Looked though my boudoir pics for the 1st time! I had them done on Tuesday and the photographer just sent the link a few minutes ago. There are 158 shots and I have to pick 50. Uhoh! How do I do this without DH's help? Without anyones help? Ahhhhhh!
Do you think it would make a friendship weird if I asked someone for help?

But, my wonderful doctor was able to turn him. I won't lie, it wasn't pleasant. It was pretty uncomfortable. But, it was tolerable. It was neat to see from the outside as he was turning him.
I agree with some PP's. Call now and ask about an ECV.

I wish they'd start selling the european ones here. Even the US ones. There are way more available there than in Canada.

The more expensive ones (at the Bay, Home Outfitters, BB&B) are a step up from the Walmart one. The more expensive one has a water filter.
I have the one like Walmart sells. I bought it on sale at the Superstore for $99. I used to own the Braun one, but, I wanted to replace it with the Bosch one, since it's slimmer and generally nicer looking, IMO.
I don't see the big benefit to the lcd display on the newer one. It doesn't have any real added features, as far as I know.
Wow! I wish our Costco would sell Tassimo stuff. They only have the Keurg.

DS's school sent a letter home yesterday. I don't remember who exactly it was from, Ottawa Public health, I think. (eta: just checked it. It was from Ottawa Public health - Medical Officer of Health)
Anyways, it said that parents are urged to keep healthy kids on a normal schedule. There is no reason to limit activities of a healthy person. In fact, the letter states that children are fine to go back to school once they are fever free for 24 hours and are feeling well, even if they still have a cough, etc...
I won't be keeping Gavin home from school if a family member of someone in his class or daycare have the flu. I'm sure on a day to day basis, we all come in contact with people with varying degrees of the flu.
Personally, if my children are healthy and I'm not, I'd rather contact with me is limited. As long as they aren't showing signs of anything, I'm assuming that they are healthy. As soon as they show signs, then I'd keep them home.

Thanks for the tip! I forgot about the stuff from Michaels.
What I was planning to get, was either the Billy or Expidit bookcases from Ikea, with some baskets, etc. I already have a desk to use (though, I'd love something different, maybe the one that matches the expidit shelves). I need to measure though, to make sure there's room for what I have in mind.

We had great plans for today. We had friends invited over. They have 2 kids the same ages as ours. I was going to make a fun, halloween meal, have a mini party before heading out ToT together. But, their ODS has "the" flu, so those plans are off.

DS is quiet a bit older, but, I mix up the days worth of formula and put it into the bottles in the morning. When it's time to feed him, I pop it in the microwave for a few seconds, shake to make sure there are no hot pockets, and test on my arm.
I have to start warming it less and less. I'm in the process of switching him to milk and I'd rather he take it cold. Hindsight, I would not have started heating his bottles (he only started on formula at 9 months)

I'm trying to prepare myself for my impending doom. I return to work in 2.5 weeks.
I like to read on the bus, but can only handle a light read, preferably with short chapters. I get sick very easily on the bus, so I like something that doesn't involve alot of thinking, and something that can be put down after a short period, if need be.
Any recommendations? I hate the Shopaholic books. I've tried them a few time and just couldn't get past the stupidity (not sure if that's the word I'm looking for, but, I hope you kwim!). I've liked other books of hers though.
I used to read James Patterson (Alex Cross), but I found the later ones all the same. They got pretty boring after awhile.
Help!

We're going in the spring. N will be about 16 months old.
He'll be sitting on our lap for the busride, as will his older brother. If he still fit in a bucket, I'm not sure if we would take it or not. Last time we went on an all-inclusive, there were only enough sits on the bus for those who had seats on the flight.
N will be eating whatever we do. If your child will be eating purees at that time, I'd probably bring some jars.
Milk - Haven't thought about it. I would guess that he'll just drink the milk there. I'm assuming he'll be drinking whole milk my then. He won't touch it now though

Hep A & B - We'll be having him vaccinated, no question (we're going to the DR)
Water - Like us, he'll likely drink the water they have. I'm not sure about the place we're going, but the last 2 places we've been used bottled water.

Plus, not sure if you are catholic or not, but, if you send him to a catholic school, you'll have to provide a copy. It would be nice if everything is spelled correctly to cut down on errors for other things.

My brain HURTS!!! Ahhh. So if I go to my dr and get DD and myself vaccinated, I'm sure she won't tell me whether our vaccines have the adjuvant added or not. I will have to ask her about it. Do we have a choice for which one we get for our LO's? I have read that they have to get 2 vaccines instead of just 1 like we'll all get... are they the non-adjuvanted ones? I honestly think I knew the answers to these questions before I started reading this thread and now I'm SO confused!
Celia, from the reading that I've done, I think the non-adjuvanted is only being offered to expectant moms and that it ~may~ be available to kids under 3 years old a little later (I read november in one article).
I wonder if this is a province thing b/c in BC all sources I have talked to said 6 month-3 years will ONLY get non-adjuvant version
.
Yes, I should have said, that info was for Ontario.

Sorry, but, really, I'd love to see where this information is coming from. Thanks!

This is all making my head hurt. I'm still so on the fence about this. DH is gung-ho. Apparently, we're all getting it as soon as we can. But, he's not the research the facts kind of guy. He just takes information as he's presented with it on the news, which, is predominantly "get the vaccine".
It's all so confusing.
Anyone know which other vaccines are adjuvanted? I've read the Hep-b, which the boys will be getting before we go south in the spring, so I'm not sure why I worry about one and not the other, kwim?

I was also thinking about making these for ODS's birthday.
I was wondering how to send them. Where can you get styrofoam? We don't have anything here. Is there somewhere you can buy a block of it?
I was looking at Michaels yesterday. They have packs of 18 sticks and plastic bags to go over. I'm going to buy those to package them. That way, if someone wants to take it home for later, they can.
Is anyone going to attempt to decorate them? I was thinking about doing different balls (basketball, soccer, golf, etc...) I may be getting a little too ambitous though. I think I'm going to have to do about 40, between his JK class and daycare.

How often do you use a Bumbo or exersaucer?

We still use the exersaucer. He's now protesting it more, but, I put him in it when I have to leave the room for a minute, or if he's getting too picky (he tries to climb our tv stand)
I'm soon going to sell the exersaucer though because he rocks it and I'm afraid he'll tip it over!
