I will also join in on the last GBWB thread! I stumbled upon this one time great forum while planning my wedding over 7 years ago. I celebrated anniversaries and went through two pregnancies and babies all with WBs.
It has been a little love/hate at times but overall it was love!
I spent many hours and cried and laughed while logged onto this site.
Always wanted to do a big dramatic goodbye and well now I get my chance

I love drops ins and I love dropping by places as well. That is something I really think is lacking in our current culture. We are so "busy" with our lives that we barely see eachother anymore. So popping over or dropping by insures that you get facetime with friends and family without making a formal date.
I'm all about an old fashioned drop in! I guess I'm just not all that busy that it doesn't bug me.

ODS (11) has been in speech therapy since he was 3 and has ADHD. We also are sure there are other issues and have been working non stop tyring to figure them out.
In this process our speech therapist has suggested we explore CAPD. Does anyone have any background or experience to provide about this disorder? From the info I have found online it looks to be something we totally could be dealing with but I don't know anyone in real life who has ever heard of this or experienced it.

Haven't read the other replies but I personally wouldn't "punish" him at home. I would make sure he knows that you know what is going on. I imagine the school is already dealing with it at some level and until you have more info I wouldn't be laying too much out at home.
I learned the hard way that home and school need to be very seperate things. That is not to say that there isn't communication and working together but I have learned that school things need to stay at school and home things need to stay at home.
I mean if he is getting in trouble over this at school then it seems a little much to be in trouble over this at home as well. Like I said, make sure he knows you KNOW... I would assume that is enough punishment already. Kids do not like to dissapoint their parents.

My step son has been flying by himself since he was 6 or 7 to come and see us.
The airlines are really great and he has never had an issue or even mentioned that he'd been scared.
As a Mom I'm sure it must be a little nerve wracking but I think it's more common than what we imagine.

Ummmm yeah I consider myself to be a pretty "natural" living person and practiced "attachment" parenting before it was the cool kid thing to do but this is pretty nasty.
I'm really hoping this is a once in a while type of situation and not how she always feeds him. What in the world happens if she gets sick? Who spits into his mouth then?

Totally not related but I am curious why this thread title is okay.... I thought we had to be more specific now? No baiting titles?

Just finished watching it and my eyes are stinging from crying so much.
I find that family to be such a blessing. Personally, I think that this does show how strong their faith really is. I love that they prayed immediately. I love that they quoted scripture. They really truly believe in what they are doing by having all those kids and "accepting them as gifts from God".
I love the Duggars and them showing this part of their lives just made me love them even more.

My whole pantry is done in modular mates and I shop in bulk it is fantastic!
The fridge mates have also been amazing for our fresh veggies, they last SO long so no more waste!
I also love the warranty and the fact that once you buy the pieces you have them for life! For me it really is a long term investment. As silly as that sounds

Oooh we've had Coleen Lee when C was in pediatric speech at Children's. He's been in speech since he was 2 mostly through the Vic and the short stutter therapy with Coleen, 8 weeks I think.
He does get speech through the school but it is just not nearly enough.
I've spoken to Heather Shpak and she does seem really nice I was just wondering if there was anyone else on "this side" of town

I find the speech through the school to be really sub par as well. Not even close to meeting his needs. As you know I just feel that it is really time to step up to the plate and it might cost us a crap load of money but it needs to be done

Awww I can totally relate to you. My Mother rarely wants anythin to do with ODS who has some special needs. Agression not being one of them but he does have some attention and focus issues for sure.
It is so hard and he sees it now and sees how much time they spend with my ODD compared to him.
I did finally have it out with her a couple of years ago and basically said that it cannot be like that.
She would always say that she just couldn't keep him entertained or that he was too much too handle.
Maybe let it be for now if this is the first time. She might just be not processing her feelings right now. If she mentions it again though I would say exactly what you did. If you can't deal with ALL of him then maybe a break is in order.
