WAHOO!! COngrats!

That's so so so exciting. And totally unbelievably frightening at the same time!
And now I'm about to give you the advice that never really did help me.

Because I ignored it...

But .. You are pregnant right now. And you can do relatively little (other than all the "healthy living choices" you can make) to make sure nothing "bad" happens, right? You are not going to stop your worst nightmare from happening again.
Ask for support, believe in yourself, and cherish and love that pregnancy! And demand support.

You deserve to get to lean on someone and be nervous and just have them reassure you that you're doing everything you can to support this little miracle.
H&H 9 months to you!!

I have many many friends who are about to pop. Three already have and I'm waiting on four more this month!
Of those, I have 4 close friends:
I have made frozen meals for them, to take over when I go to meet and greet and snuggle those little bundles (and to calm down and actually see for myself that my friend is alive, well and okay)! I also scored some super cute little onesies at the Gap Outlet to give them when I go over.
What else do parents need in those first few weeks? I really don't to give them something that is either taunting them or completely useless... having never been in their shoes! I don't want to look completely and utterly ignorant.

Does a starbucks gift card seem mean, if they're feeling trapped in the house already? Is a lipgloss pointless and naive considering that's maybe the last thing you're worried about? (am I over thinking all these things? Because I thought of giving them for exactly the opposite reasons... :s :))
And... all those little extra puny types of gifts I've tended to focus on the mom. Is there something more neutral that both parents could enjoy in those first days?
Please note, too, that this is not a shower type of gift, as I've got those already, usually from their registries. These are just little welcome home things.
Thanks for your help!

Any and ALL ideas are welcome, as I'm sure the answers will be as different as all 4 of my friends!

Hey TL- I just replied in your other post about the post-D&C. I didn't have any pain after the first initial soreness and swelling (from both D&C as well as preggohormones and bloat).
I often have pulls and pangs and pinches randomly, but I think it's just because I'm much more aware and in tune with my uterus now...
I hope this gets better for you!

E's mom- what a fabulous update. SOOO thrilled for you... can't wait to hear more good news on the 18th!

Tiny & Round- I've updated you. Thanks for letting me know!

I was worried that everyone would want to be updated later in the week when I don't have as easy access to WB! :s

Prometrium- I only took it to support a pregnancy that was already almost lost at 10, almost 11 weeks. I think it was just to give me something to do and feel good about while waiting for the next crummy ultrasound. It's more beneficial to take PRIOR to 10 weeks like E's mom has said... as that's when your body needs to produce the hormone because the placenta is still forming. That said... I don't really remember any side effects? I was kind of a basketcase already... so emotionally I don't remember, but I didn't have any physical effects?? :S

BADGE- WAHHOOOO!!!

Congrats!

I totally understand the hesistation, but hopefully seeing a doctor and getting some support will get you to a place soon, where you can have those little giddy moments of glee!

I'm pretty sure you'll always have those moments of panic and terror... but hopefully they're matched or eventually completely outnumbered by moments of greatness.... Congrats
What a great way to start a week!

TTC after miscarriage and loss- Week of March 11th

Bearcub- tomorrow!

Oh man, fingers crossed! We can still be fanatically hopeful, even if you aren't, right??

ENMA- I'm so sorry about your loss still. It must just still be so encompassing and present in every moment of your life right now. I'm so glad you had a memorial service- as hard as it must have been. I hope you also found support and love there. <3 This is definitely a "safe" place to be... I've found that I rarely go elsewhere other than this thread and the Miscarriage/Loss section. Welcome! <3
Round- I hope this cycle is speedy so you can "get on with it"

Are you waiting much longer? I'm sure you've said this many times before, but I've forgotten... :s
E'smom- WOW!!

9 weeks and fabulous u/s sounds wonderful! I'm so happy you were able to see everything so great!

How early did you have your first u/s? second? (sorry.. I should know this, but I don't... :s :() HURRAY!!

So... who's all testing this week?
My concrete sequential brain has difficulty when I don't have an ordered list... so I'm sorry if you've already told me what day your testing and I didn't compute! :s

GOOD LUCK! Let's jump this joint (and pray that no one else ever EVER has to join us?? ;))
(fyi... still not trying, so if you guys all leave me behind until a few more months of strengthening, I am A-OK with that... Go. Get.

We have stayed at the Tryp Peninsula (loved it) and Allegro Varadero. We love Varadero though, and have difficulty finding things to complain about... whereas lots of people find it easy to find something to complain about! :s

One couple on one of the tours we took complained because "they couldn't mix drinks very well. They just pour tonnes of rum in".
Really?
Anyway, have fun!!

We'd love to try Blau next time (Aquablue- I would love to pick your brain! :))

I'm sorry that you have to deal with this. As if it's not enough that you've dealt with the losses and having to have the surgery...

I don't have much more clarity... My cycles started out more regularly after one D&C (usually I'm a 29/30 day girl, but was 28 bang on for 3 months after my first). After the second D&C, I have been a little more irregular, but nothing really "uncommon".
Have you talked to your doctor about this change in your fertility? I think I would try... and I would hope they'd be willing to help you without too big of a fight. <3
Thinking about you. I'm sorry that you're in this position.

Hey girls...
I think I may be finally coming out from the darkness.

I still have a lot of difficulties, but I have been venturing out of the miscarriage section, which is huge! I was sure I'd have to let go of my WB after my last loss... but here I am. Still sucked back in. It's amazing the healing that time can bring, hey?

We're still not ready to try, but this is the place (other than the miscarriage forum) that I feel the most at home. I hope it's okay that I hang around with you guys for a few months, until I'm ready again?
We've been given the green light (which is surprising.. usually my OB is very "3 months AT LEAST"... Now she just wanted me to wait until I could get the blood work done to check for clotting disorders... ;)). But I need to get to a place where I dont' panic at the idea of being pregnant. I'm positive that the fear will set back in comfortably, nicely and with full force when I pee on a stick and get that beautiful second line... but I would love to be able to heal enough to find excitement again in that moment.. and not just fear alone. Must remember that pregnancy does NOT equal heartbreak.

I'm hoping that hanging around with you girls will help that.

<3

The veil part is easy. The beading will be the toughest part. I think you'd be very smart to go for something stronger than tulle... just because of the length and possibility of someone stepping on it.. especially with all your hard work with your beading! I'm sure it'll look awesome! Good luck... might you post a picture once you're done?

Oh... I'm intrigued by the colour laser! And completely trust what TJ recommends, after seeing what she has created!

I have an HP Officejet (inkjet) wide, to print invites, favour tags, menus, etc. I had just an HP little 4-in-one that came with my computer before, and it printed out 6 sets of wedding invites for me... beautifully, so I felt that I needed to stick with HP

Good luck!

Oh man, how I've fought with our families to try to not do the gifts for us thing...

We're try really hard to limit the amount of gifts we give and are given. The gifts we do give need to have a relationship enhancing/time spent/family orientation. Then we splurge on other things that help our society or the world and give them as gifts... like the oxfam unwrapped options (which is awesome, because you can pick things that represent the person- like for my brother, we gave a first aid kit through Oxfam, because he's a paramedic).
We've also filled backpacks of necessities for EGadz (a youth center), done the Christmas Hamper of food, clothing and toys for a refugee family from Burma, bought "gift certificates" for Station 20 West in Saskatoon, supported the food bank, bought toys for Denny Carr, or made donations in people's names to health charities close to their hearts.
Thanks for all the other ideas girls!
