Diapering services in York Region?

http://www.happynappy.ca/11/businesses/7571/269/Happy-Nappy-Cloth-Diaper-Service---Toronto--Area(if you use them, I'd love for you to use my name as a referral).
I'm in Van, so I'm not aware of the options in Ontario. There were only 2 companies here that do it, so not much choice. The other company had diapers that you needed to pin, which I wasn't keen on, so we didn't look into them much.
I'm impartial to happy nappy. I like using them to cloth diaper. I have no desire to wash my own diapers, and wanted something that was a little more environmentally conscious than disposables. Certainly they were cheaper for the first few months when we were going through 150 diapers a week. Now our standard order is 60, so it's about on par with disposables.
I've had issues with them over things like vacation (they need 2 weeks notice or they charge you for the weeks you're away, which meant that I paid for a week where I wasn't using their service). But each office is a franchise, so I can't say how the toronto one is run.
I do like their diapers. I heard complaints about leaks from some other posters, but I find if the diapers are leaking, like disposables, you need to go up a size. It's very rare that we have a leak that made it past the wraps.
The up side to a service is that you don't have to sign up for the long term, so you can sign up, rent the wraps and decide to cancel a few weeks later if you don't like it.
pm me if you have any more questions about them.

We have an angelcare we bought in the states. One of the handsets was defective (kept turning off randomly), so I contacted angelcare and they were fantastic. They overnighted a new handset to me without question.
We didn't want a video monitor, so the movement detector thing was a godsend for us. I have it turned off now that the kid's moving more, but in those first few months, that metronome icon gave me such peace of mind.

Baby dry gave DD diaper rash if I used them during the day, even changing them frequently. I did use them if I was planning on going out somewhere where it might not be convenient to change her frequently (like say, on an airplane), but I couldn't use them constantly.
They're decent diapers though. We still use them overnight.

We woke H up to feed her since she struggled with weight gain and I had to supplement to get her up to a decent weight. But once we established she was on track, we didn't wake her at night, and she STTN'd by 6 weeks (and then stopped 5 weeks later).
My rule of thumb is to go with your gut. If you think your kid needs to eat every 2/3 hours, then feed them. If you're bf'ing and you want to do it more frequently, or if your kid isn't hungry, less frequently. Only you really know your kid. Doctors are advised on an average, but not every kid follows the rules.

I probably qualify as not. I find lately we're eating a lot of take out due to lazyness. We went out tonight.
I go through phases where I cook healthily and meal plan, but we've been busy with a myriad of things lately and have resorted to mostly takeout.
I can cook, but I find it's been cop out pastas (boxed pasta with canned sauce) and grilled cheese rather than real, healthy cooked meals.

I never really used a purse, I just used the back pocket of my jeans. One day I accidentally flushed my visa down the toilet (it fell out as I stood up), and cost $400 to Rotoroot it out. So, I now carry said MEC purse.

My epidural did slow down labour, but really, after 18 hours, the epidural was the most GLORIOUS thing ever.
It didn't wear off quickly, so I had to get someone to read the chart to tell me when to push, but it wore off enough to feel the kid come out, and I think I might have preferred if it hadn't.
My regret was not asking for it earlier. The anesthesiologist went into surgery right before I asked for it, and it was the longest 2 hour wait ever.

I was labeled as gifted as a child. My parents opted out of putting me in a dedicated enhanced learning school, which I'm not entirely sure was the right decision. While technically 'smart', I don't learn well using traditional methods, so I struggled with maths and sciences in school and was CONSTANTLY told I wasn't living up to my potential. It was a struggle to get over that feeling of never being good enough.
I do have a few relatives who are truly at the genius level. One was taken out of highschool and for a while was a codebreaker at the US government. He is very much a textbook case of absolute brilliance in maths and sciences with very limited social ability.

We used it to get rid of our major ant infestation on our patio a few years ago. It's not instant. You'll have to put it out every day for at least 2 or 3 weeks, but it'll fix the problem.
Most commercial ant killers contain borate anyway, and a box of borax in your laundry aisle is half the price.

I think it depends on the palette you want to go with. I like the red/white curtains the pp posted.
I find the wall to be a light, warm tone, and the green of the curtain to be dark and dry, so they don't really work together. What may help is finding an inspiration pic on pinterest or something that has the colour blue you like and using that to find a complimentary tone.

12x12 on the wall or on the floor of the shower?
The thing about putting them on the floor is getting the right angle for the water to drain properly. By code, the shower floor has to be inclined something like 1/4" for every foot from the drain. Most contractors won't do a tile larger than 2x2" on the floor because the larger the tile, the more difficult it is to maintain that slant (and the smaller tiles are more forgiving.
As for the walls, I've seen large scale tiles on tonnes of showers.

I grew up in an open concept house with mid-tone oak hardwood. My parents installed it in 1990, and it lasted up until last year when they redid the hardwood in the whole house (they refinished it once, I think).
I prefer it to tile, and will be putting hardwood in my kitchen in my forever home. I don't find it wears more, unless you're leaving stuff to sit on it for hours, or say, your dishwasher leaks while you're on vacation. I also find it easier on my back.

We had solid espresso floors in our last place and it shows EVERYTHING. We have laminate in this place (previous owner's choice), and it has a varied grain that hides everything so much better.
I'm not a fan of blond wood floors, but that's just me.

I probably would have put the controls for the shower on the side with the door (the door opened both ways), so that you didn't get soaked when you turned it on. Otherwise, it's just fiddly bits, like different tile, etc., because my tastes have changed (part of why I hate picking tile). I'm not sure it was worth the expense to do the custom cabinetry. There was a vanity at restoration hardware that I liked as much but was talked out of it.
Things that I liked: undermount sink, heated floors (I had the stomach flu one night and it was GLORIOUS - the floor, not the flu), jetted shower (I miss having it here).
The contractor didn't pour the shower floor like he should (despite my telling him to fix it multiple times), so the water didn't drain properly (it's supposed to have an even grade of something like a 1/4" for every foot which it didn't especially in the corners). Next time I'd probably insist they buy one of those kits from home depot, but they're more expensive than just pouring the concrete. They also installed the cement board only to waist height in the shower, instead of all the way like I'd requested. Things like that, that were job specific and probably wouldn't help you.

We did a marbled porcelain in the old kitchen that would work well as an alternative to real marble. It looked like travertine to touch, but it wasn't (and it wasn't that 'printed on' look).
Anyhow, this was bathroom we redid in our old place (I would likely do it differently if I were to do it again, but whatever, I don't live there anymore).
Multi-jet shower with individual controls, quartz countertop, new everything from the studs out. Fully contracted (douchebag contractor included). I think we were in the $12-15k range. It's hard to tell because it was rolled in with some work in the kitchen. If you cut out the contractor, materials only would probably be in the $8k range.
Timeline was 5 months (Oct - Feb). But again, douchey contractor over the xmas holidays. He worked well for the gutting, etc., but the shower needed to be re-plumbed 4 times because things kept leaking/weren't installed correctly, and then he started to lose interest in the job.

We do a bottle before bed because I think it helps her sleep longer if she goes to bed full, but for the last month or so, we put her down after her bottle and she'd chirp for 10-15 minutes or so before passing out.
In our case, the kid is waking up because her diaper's full (she's been over-filling her overnight diapers). I feed her before I put her back down more out of habit than anything. She tends to fuss for longer if I don't, and I'm too lazy to listen to the fussing.
