You could have seeded in the fall before the snowfall, that way as soon as the snow melts the ground is very wet which is prime growing conditions for grass. But since you didn't I would seed as soon as the snow is gone. Try to give a quick rake first to loosen the top layer of soil, then spread seed evenly, (buy a cheep seeder) You'll be surprised how fast and well the grass comes in when its planted very early in the spring when the soil is super wet

I'm a paramedic in small town Northwestern Ontario and can say nobody has ever came to me directly to say thank you either. So without a doubt the medics that delivered your baby would appreciate it. It would be easier to help you if we knew where you lived, because I don't think its always that easy to find the phone # to a dispatch centre. And remember the ambulance may not have came from the closest ambulance base, whichever ambulance just happened to be closest to your house for whatever reason is the one that would have been dispatched. It could have been from a base clear across the city. But look in the phone book and then ask for the manager or supervisor. The medics on duty will not be able to help you, they have no access to the computer to check calls due to confidentiality.

I went to Sandals Varadero 2 years ago. The Paradissus was the other on the list but at the time was much more expensive. Sandals has no real nice lobby, very rustic straw hut type that nobody sits around. We enjoyed our trip to Sandals but the whole week I just kind of felt like something was missing, not sure what. We took the red double decker bus to town and it stops at all the resorts on the strip. When we pulled up to the Paradissus I was so green with envy. It was by far in my opinion the nicest resort of all that we had stopped at. I have no real plans to go back to Cuba again, just doesn't compare to other AI's in my opinion, but if I had to go back, the Paradissus would be the one I picked

My wishes are very clear that I want to donate also. I'm also the blunt one in the family and basically told my husbvand and mom that if they die and I have to make the decision they are donating as well, whether they like it or not...they won't be around to argue with me...lol. I also had the people that never even bothered to reply situation. I don't understand why friends and family have the mentality that because you are getting married away its not like a real wedding. I never had anyone drop out at the last minute, my hurt feels worse because our close friends and immediate families never even made an effort to join us. And I know people say enjoy the ones that did make an effort, but 3 years later I still have hurt inside for the ones closest to me that didn't seem to care. I guess we just suck it up to the joys of destination wedding.

Awesome stuff, thanks for posting. I get very emotional when it comes to Remembrance Day. My grandpa was wounded in WW2 and just died 3 years ago. I asked my gramma 2 years ago just before she died if my grandpa ever sent her letters home from the war. Her being the tough stoic loving person that grew up in the depression said of course he did. I asked where the letters were now, and she replied I threw them out. I was dumbstruck!

That was exactly me a month ago.I would awake at 3:00am with excruciating pain. Left ear totally plugged,I could unplug it, but it immediately plugged again. I'm a flight paramedic and was terrified to go to work. A Dr. did give me antibiotics and an antibiotic ear drop and said it would take a week to feel better. And thats how long it did hurt. I found plain and simple advil took the pain away at least, and I slept laying my ear on a hot water bottle and it felt like heaven. Good luck.

I'm not really a fan of the black. I went to my SIL last week and actually gasped because I was in love with her new backsplash. In blues, light blue and black I think. It looked awesome. Then she totally shocked me and showed me that they are stick on. The come in 10x10 sheet and you cut to fit. I looked very hard at her wall and could not see any seems, and seriously would never know it wasn't those real tiles.
They are called smart tiles, sold at Home depot for $10.00 a package. And again, I was with my own eyes, they look great

We're going to Roatan Honduras. It definately doesn't have the grand AIs on the beach, each place is a little rustic place on the beach. I'm staying at Infinity Bay, which by their standards is their top of the line, but there is many many little rustic places. Check out West bay for the best places to stay, and west end has all the restaurants and town.

Hey jam. The inland rainy season is in summer, the north coast in Roatan is different for some reason, their rainy season is Oct-Jan. I'm taking a chance and booked last week of Jan. I see your anniv. is Jan 8th, so probably wouldn't have taken a chance that early in the month either. We booked at Infinity Bay. Its not the rustic type place that Roatan is known for, Its actually a condo place, but they offered up for Canadians with an all inclusive feature. All inclusive appears not be offered to Americans, or by booking hotel separately. I really want to try and cruise, was a real toss up this year, but Roatan won , wanted to go for too many years. Hopefully do the cruise next year.

I booked Roatan after much reading and believe most of the issues are on mainland. Roatan is on an island and according to many trip advisor people is safe there. Cruise ships stopped porting there for a bit last year, but I believe they are back at it.
The Let it snow promotion does end Nov 2nd, but there was an added bonus if you booked by Oct 14th, your taxes were even free if you won.
So now that we're booked, I'm crossing my fingers for 5" of snow at toronto airport Jan 1st.

I'm not a nervous flyer, but isn't the hardest part for you people the take-off and landing? All the middle part is fine for most people...no? I remember one lady sitting behind me on the plane last year, she was actually sobbing very loud during the taxi and take-off, was fine and laughing the whole time at cruising altitude, then started sobbing hysterically again during the descent and landing. Just makes me think, don't worry about flying times. Go where you want to go and find yourself a good deal.

We've been to both twice and definitely prefer DR. In fact out of all our vacations the one to Dreams LaRomana has by far been our favorite.( formerly known as Sunscape Casa del mar) I urge you to read up here before you have your heart set on Punta Cana, especially if you like to snorkel. This resort is the only one we've ever been that you snorkel right at your beach. We found the entertainment very very bad in Cuba, and I can usually sit through even the cheesiest of shows. We did like the Cuban people, and find them the happiest enjoyable people, but that alone is not enough to send us back there.

Has anyone been to Roatan? We've been to DR, Mayan, Cuba, Jamaica, and aside from jamaica really have not had the bestest of warm weather when we travel in Jan. for our anniversary. I've heard many many great things on Roatan. people that stop there on cruise ports love it so much they want to go back for a weeks vacation. Honestly, I never hear anything bad about the island. Can it really be that great compared to the other tropical places for winter vacations? I want to book before tomorrow Oct. 14th to get into the let it Snow promotion at Itavel2000

Se stayed at Sandals hicaco Varadero last year, and the food was actually not bad at all. Some things had great flavor. I've been told that the higher end resorts have the better food. And my theory is and always will be, that the smaller the resort the better the food. It was proved last year. Sandals is a resort of about 400 rooms. When we were leaving the plane had mechanical difficulties, we were sent to Sirenis La Salina for the night. This resort has over 1000 rooms and absolutely beautiful. But the food was cold and really not so good. Of course, how can they cook for that many people and make it good. So my motto is always to find a smaller resort. I'm not a seafood lover, and being to Cuba twice, Mexico and DR, my DH says the seafood in Cuba is his least fav. and he wants his fill of seafood on vacation...lol.
Hope this helps

You can also trade you left over Cuban money back into Canadian at the airport. But I would just spend it at the duty free at airport. This is AFTER you pay your departure tax and go through security. You will find they make their coffee very very disgusting, and most likely will not be able to drink it, they make it pretty strong. Don't this discourage you. Buy some coffee at duty free and bring it home, its delicious when you make it normally. Save about $8.00 a bag, and rum I think was about $15.00 for the better aged stuff.
The Catamaran day was fabulous for an excursion. Free flowing booze if you drink, lobster lunch, (chicken if you don't like lobster) Really is a very memorable day
Happy honeymoon and enjoy your trip

I ordered on the 23rd, so I guess i really have to wait...sniff, sniff. My email came from the sender " Katie Lee" and in my haste of clicking off all my junk mail, I almost deleted it because it wasn't from someone I recognized. This is what my email said
Quote:
Hi everyone,
We are sending out an email to people on our order list who have unfortunately had their orders delayed by a few days longer than we anticipated. We are running approximately a week behind our estimated timeline. As some of you may know, we recently stopped taking customer orders due to incredibly high volume, and this is allowing us to focus on your orders and get caught up. Since each item is hand made, we do not want to sacrifice quality for speed, and we are sincerely apologetic for any inconvenience this has caused.
If you would like to find out more about our shop and the temporary closure of custom orders, please visit our blog at www.obleekbags.com. When we re-open for custom orders in a couple of weeks or so, we will make sure our timelines allow for more breathing room (or another order boom!).
Thank-you for your understanding and patience,
Katie & Samantha
