So the heat really is that bad, is it? I generally don't mind the heat. We've been to Vegas a couple of times in August but I know that still pales in comparison to Dubai.
So thankfully I can wear sandals - that's a relief. When you say "conservative" clothing - does that include shorts? Im thinking bermuda style? I don't think I can imagine capri's - being so hot??
Any other advice? Helps to get a woman's perspective, if you know what I mean - something other than "you'll be fine"

I am going to Dubai in August. I have spent a small fortune in maxi dresses, but unfortunately they all have little or no straps! I can't imagine wearing a pashmina or shawl around my shoulders in that heat! Now Im panicking. DH is already over there and he says that you see everything and that I'll be ok. Some of the restaurants have dress codes, but other than that - you won't be tossed in jail. Also he said that sandals (open toes) are frowned upon at certain places. HELP I am really confused!
Oh - he's also warned by about reunion in the airport: ABSOLUTELY no PDA - that could land me in jail - great!!! I have not seen my husband in 3 months - what am I supposed to do??

We had a house fire about 18 months ago and had to have an entire kitchen reno done. We went with Lowes (Orleans) because the price was really great - the insurance adjuster could not come close to even matching it with his company so he gave his blessing (and $$$) to go with Lowes. The experience was fantastic - the designer, the actual design that he came up with, the product (the installer who was independent and chose by the insurance company) said it was superior, delivered on time, beautiful! BUT, the mantle that we designed to go over the slide in stove, and the "invisible" fan that goes underneath, neither match each other, and the fan doesn't even fit into the mantle! We've been back to the store, the designer has acknowledged that he ordered the wrong unit ... but told us we had to go out and source someone to make a custom made fan to fit the mantle! Why should WE have to do that??? Anyway - Im going back this weekend and telling them to fix it .... or else! I suspect I'll be writing a letter too!

There were forms on line that I filled out and sent in (government forms) - my duty was returned to me in the form of a cheque fairly quickly. It was a PIA to to figure it out, but in the end, it wasn't a big deal.

Its not like a simple beauty treatment - its a body altering treatment - with the potential of serious physical harm if not executed properly. But that's just my opinion. Until its regulated in this country, I guess it really is "buyer beware"

Im not sure which one we have, but it has the XL option -5 cup sizes in all. We love it as well. I find though that one pod is not enough for an XL coffee - so I set it to med and use two pods. I like having the option of the different sizes.
I bought the KCup and have no idea of how much coffee to put in - should be a no brainer, Im guessing.

Im in the process of doing my legs. I was told to expect 10 treatments to be hair free. Im two treatments in and I barely notice any hair growth - definitely a huge improvement. I had to shave my legs daily!
Not all lasers are created equal - if the treatments are unusually inexpensive, it may be a red flag that the quality of laser is also inexpensive. The risk in using a "weak" laser is that it maybe only lighten the hair pigment rather than kill the follicle - making your hairs white which you will never be able to remove (the laser only targets dark pigment).
I found the first treatment painful in spots but definitely not unbearable - the second treatment was much easier.
Each treatment takes about an hour and I just bring my iPod and listen to my music - the time seems to fly.

I love those crops FWIW The Power Vinyasa Crops look see through in the thigh area, but from the pics anyway - they look like the same lulu fabric in the butt and crotch. The second pair look pretty opaque as well. Its hard to tell in the picture - maybe give them a call?

I've always said that he makes a better friend than husband and could even see having a "legitimate" friendship with him, but my husband and his wife would NEVER hear of it.

Watching this thread closely! I, too, fear flying! I don't let it stop me (yet), but I really don't like it. Until we went on our honeymoon, the furthest I had flown was Florida (from Ontario) 3 hours tops. We went to Vegas on our honeymoon - 5+ hours. Very proud of myself ....
This summer I am going to visit DH in the Middle East (he's there working), so we are meeting in Turkey. Non-stop from New York City - 10 hours!!! By myself!!! WHAT am I thinking???? What do you do on a plane for 10 hours!!! What if I have a panic attack? What if there is turbulence and I have no one to dig my nails into???

I've been fairly committed to my treadmill for approx. 6 weeks now. Im not sure that I am seeing any real results. I am not...
I've been fairly committed to my treadmill for approx. 6 weeks now. Im not sure that I am seeing any real results. I am not overweight but Im not "in shape", if that makes sense. I am exercising to tone up and for general well being.
So here's by question: I do a 30 min "run" - 5 min warm up and 5 min cool down with a 20 min run in the middle. I feel its "ok" - not overly challenging, but still a workout. The other day I did an "incline" workout - 2 min walk/run, 2 min walk at 15% - same amount of time - 30 min. I find the "run" workout more of a cardio workout, but the incline workout - BURNS my legs - I felt it - all day and the next day. I also do sets of squats and lunges post treadmill - although I only started those about 2 weeks ago.
Which workout will get me quicker and better results: running or walking with the incline? Im looking for toned and defined legs. TIA
