I've been following the case but today was so disturbing ... not sure if I can listen to anymore. That poor little girl. The fear, terror and pain she must have endured. It makes my stomach sick. The reporter tweeting live was clearly upset as well. Im not sure I've been as bothered by a court case since the Bernardo trial.

It takes a lot to impress me (where cosmetics are concerned). I like immediate results and get very impatient waiting to see them. I saw a 60 Minute piece (or something like that) on this cream and how it has a cult following in Asia so when I saw it hit the North American market I was really excited to try it. Garnier is the first company to release it, but I checked Sephora and a few other lines are starting to carry it - Clinique I noticed. Anyhow ... I thought for $9.00 I'd try it - Im so glad I did - Im not sure I would have spent $19.00 for it, but now I won't be without it - it made that much of a difference - for my skin anyway - it does everything it claims to.

PSA: After much hype, I purchased my first tube of BB cream on the weekend. I was at Shoppers and they had the Garnier one on sale: regular $19.99 for $9.00, so I bought it. I had read the reviews and it wasnt one of the better ones, but I was anxious to try it and so for the price? I jumped at it.
Anyhoo ... I LOVE IT!!!! It does absolutely everything it claims to! It completely smoothes out the complexion, softens fine lines and I don't even need foundation over it. I put a bit on just out of habit, but I imagine in the summer I won't. Im not sure if the sale is still on, but Im going back to buy a few more tubes.

I used mine last week (half the sample) and I'll use the second half tonight. My skin WAS really baby soft afterwards - its hard to tell if its "worth it" after just a couple of uses though. Maybe I'll go on Sephora and check the reviews.

Im really enjoying this soap - and it hasn't been too difficult to get into. I just saw Lisa Rinna on a morning show today - I guess she's (re)joining the cast? I like her.
Oh - one more question? The guy that was running again EJ for mayor - Abe? What is his deal? He's married to EJ's sister? Was she adopted? She looks black to me - EJ is greek? Different dad's?
TIA!!!

A little bit of a hijack .... I just started watching Days about 6 weeks ago (when OLTL went off air). Im really enjoying it and am catching on pretty quick ... but I have a few questions:
1. Is Sammy always intense and unhappy? I don't think I've ever seen her happy. And who is the father of her two youngest children? Would that be EJ?
2. Does EJ love Nicole? And do "we like him"? He doesn't seem like a bad guy, but everyone speaks so evil of him.
3. Has Abby always been a "good girl"? I kind of like what she's doing to Austin - Im not liking him (or Carrie for that matter) .... Im only new at this soap, so I may be completely out to lunch!
TIA ladies!! Any insight you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Would NOT take no for an answer - even tried to stick his foot in the door to "obtain a water sample"! There have been a ton of complaints in this area. My DH was about to toss him onto the front lawn when he stuck his foot in the door. These guys are hired to do this but they only get paid when they receive a signed contract.

I just had my first treatment last week. I went with the Sciton Dual Yag Laser (what a mouthful). Im doing half leg and Im apparently a very good candidate - fair skin, dark brown hair. Its been 9 days and with only one treatment - I haven't had to shave yet. There is stubble for sure but for the amount of hair that I had before (shave everyday), I am pleasantly surprised. She's scheduled my treatments 6 weeks apart. Im hoping for a hair-free (reduced) summer. Here is the blurb from their website describing their laser:
There are other advantages that can be found with Sciton Dual Yag Lasers. It is less dangerous to the skin than some other laser systems because it utilizes a chilling plate made of sapphire through which it fires. This technique assures patients that their skin obtains the optimal cooling prior to the firing of the laser and between the laser pulses. As a result, patients obtain a treatment which is much safer and less painful than with other hair removal lasers.
Another advantage of the Sciton Dual Yag Laser system is that it makes use of a scanner which is controlled by a computer in order to deliver the pulses of the laser. Because it is computer-controlled, it produces exact and precise pulse overlaps, ensuring that the entire surface of the targeted skin is in fact being treated.

We've been twice - Bellagio first time, Monte Carlo second time and we are going in June and will be staying at the new Cosmopolitan. With respect to the Luxor - my sister-in-law stayed there and has to leave; she claims it made her "sea sick" ... she's a bit dramatic though.
Bellagio - beautiful, high end, expensive ... but it seemed "old" - older atmosphere, older clientele. Oppulent and beautiful though - that was our honeymoon. We rented a cabana for a day - we were treated like royalty - no exaggeration. Pool is beautiful (if that matters - to us, it did)
Monte Carlo - MUCH cheaper, beautiful (not as much as Bellagio - but definitely not a dive). We loved the amenities: McDonalds, StarBucks, Subway - all on site. We saved a ton of money on food alone staying there. McDonalds $0.99 breakfasts? The only thing that stops us going there again was the amount of children there. The pool was packed with kids - we felt like we were in a community pool on a stinking hot summer day. Just not what I expected in Vegas - I've never thought of it as a family vacation. If you don't plan on spending time poolside, I would recommend it.
Im so envious!! Can't wait until we go again!

I have a couple of charities that I donate sizable (enough) amounts to on a once only, yearly basis: causes that are close to my heart or have affected me in my lifetime. I do not give to door to door solicitations with the exception of maybe a neighbourhood kid looking for a small amount for a school trip or sporting event - think chocolate bars or bottle drive - but even those barely exist anymore. In recent years, really not at all. I understand being in new neighbourhood, you want to "take the temperature" so to speak ... that's why I suggest the kid thing - people love when you throw their kids something ... but that person you had was out of line!! Im surprised your DH didn't toss him on the front lawn. That's aggressive sales - if you don't mind saying - what charity was it for??

For those of you that like/have used Essie - do you like the consistency? I have a few of them - 3 to be exact: Barefoot and Nude, Fiji and Vanity Fairness. The first two are opaque and go on like "liquid paper" - so streaky. It takes a good three coats to look like anything. Have I just purchased duds - maybe seconds or something? Essie seems to be a cult favourite right now and I love their swatches but two of the three that I bought I will never use because of the consistency. Any thoughts??
