Are you supposed to stop and pull over for a funeral procession? I passed one today coming in the opposite direction (hearse in front with 4 ways on and a long train of cars behind with FUNERAL signs stuck on their hoods). The guy in front of me pulled over like you would for a ambulance so I did too but then a bunch of cars blew by us and then I felt like a knob.

I made the Taco Soup Sunday night and it was SO good! I am not sure why she calls it a soup though - definitely more like a chilli. Like Ruby we crumbled some taco chips into it. I also only added 2 cans of beans instead of the 4 that is in the recipe and I think it was more then enough.

It is really cute and I think it is something she will have for a long time.
DD brought DS the CARS 2 movie - it was definitely more so just a distraction gift but he was very excited to get it.

I don't have a clue what is causing them! DD has a really good latch I think (no issues or pain on the other breast), and my nipples do not appear to be cracked or bleeding at all. I have pretty large breasts (even more so since having DD) but I never wear a bra when I am at home. Could that be a problem? I find them so constricting and uncomfortable. Maybe I need to invest in a good supportive one that fits properly.

After consulting Dr.Google I think I may be experiencing vapospams in my right breast. I get a a strange stinging, burning, throbbing sensation (kind of hard to describe) throughout my nipple and breast that lasts long after I am finished nursing on that side. I have also noticed that when DD pulls off on this side my nipple is white. Is there any special treatment I need or is this something that will go away on its own? Is there anything I can do to help with the pain?

Your right there could have been a warning but we just couldn't see it from sitting in the viewing area. I just think this was too early of an exercise for them to be doing with 3.5 year olds. This was only their second class and the first time they were trying out the life jackets. Thanks for everyone's input

My 3.5 year old DS and his cousin take swimming lessons every Monday night at our community pool. These lessons are done without parents and it's 5 kids to 2 teenage teachers. Last week the kids all put on life jackets and got to go on a boat ride around the pool. Once they had gotten to a deep end of the pool the teachers tipped the boat on it's side so the kids all fell out (while wearing life jackets still). My son didn't mind it but my nephew is now TERRIFIED of going back to lessons this week. He won't stop talking about what happened. Do you think it was appropriate how they made little kids who really have had no experience in the water or wearing life jackets and just kind of dropped them in the water with no warning? My sister in law wants to say something but doesn't want to make a big deal about it. Is this normal for beginner swimming lessons - kind of a sink or swim attitude? The teachers were still close by but the whole thing just rubbed me the wrong way.

This past Monday I had what I think was a clogged duct on the right breast. It was hard as a rock, very tender and sore in spots and it hurt like a mofo to feed. I continued feeding DD through the pain (probably not as much as I would have normally because it was just too painful). It pretty much was cleared up by Thurs but I still feel pain whenever she latches on that side. Now whenever she is on that side she is extremely fussy, she pulls off, grunts, and pulls at my breast with her hands. When she is on the other side she is an angel and gulps and gulps. Could my supply have been affected on the breast that had the clog? Does one breast normally produce more milk then the other?

Today was my 6 week and last (
) appt with my midwife today. I got sent home with an evaluation to fill out and mail back in. I LOVED my midwife - she was amazing and I am going to say so when I fill out the form. BUT the only downfall was that she was ALWAYS running late. Every appt I had I ended up having to wait 20-30 mins until I saw her. This only bothered me because my appts were always during work time and I ended getting back to wotk later then I should have. Is it worth mentioning? I feel bad saying anything because I know there is a midwife shortage and I feel so lucky that I got a spot in the first place. She also never made me feel rushed during my appts and she really is so nice and I know the wait times weren't intentional.

DD is 4 weeks old and EBF. The majority of her poops are still stringy and green which I read can be a sign of not getting enough hindmilk. We saw my midwife yesterday and she has gained 11 ounces in 2 weeks (1 lb 4 oz above her birth weight). So are the green poops normal? Whenever she feeds she seems to drop into a boob coma after about 10ish minutes - is that enough time to reach the hindmilk? After such a short feed should I be putting her on the same breast or the opposite one the next time she eats? Any advice is very welcome!
