Excellent! I will look at that series as well zoobaby. I now have:
1. Hunger Games trilogy
2. 50 Shades of Grey trilogy
3. Outlander series (7)
4. Sookie Stackhouse series (8)
5. The Road
6. The Help
7. We need to talk about Kevin
8. Year of Wonders
9. Room
10. Stigma
11. Fault in Our Stars
12. A thousand splendid suns
13. An Invisible thread
14. Shantaram
15. The girl who kicked the hornet's nest (already read the other two)
Think that's enough, lol? Any other suggestions? Last time we went on a 3 week vacation I read at least a dozen books (including Twilight) so I know I will get through a big chunk of them! I'm so happy to have the Kindle instead of books taking up my whole suitcase

Anyone have a good series/trilogy suggestion?
I'm stocking up books on my Kindle for my upcoming vacation and I want to make sure I have a whole library at my disposal, haha. I already have Hunger Games and 50 shades of grey and I've read (and re-read) Song of Ice and Fire. Preferably something light and quick to read

I pretty much read anything! I have 17 books so far but my goal is to take at least 20 (we're going for 3 weeks and we have a 14+ hour flight there).

Cypra- I think you still have the option of placing an order for your monthly box until the 27th of the month. That way you have the option of changing your style or skipping the month altogether. I'm guessing that you could use your code at that time. I skipped this month as I won't be home to receive it, and I think I'll only get boxes on months when I like the colours. I really like that they have the skip a month option so you can choose when you want one!

I was lucky and signed up for Topbox in November along with Luxe, so I only had to wait for March for my first Topbox. I've had a few good Luxe products though- and I've ended up purchasing the Dermalogica microfoliant so I'm glad I got that! Plus I've received a couple of eye shadows through First In Line. Too many perfume samples though! My sister loves perfume so I gave them all to her (although I did get a super cute bottle of Pure by DKNY that I love and I'm using for the rare times I use perfume).

When I signed up for Luxe you got the first in line no matter what you signed up for (ie. you still got to take advantage of it even with a month to month account). I'm not sure if that's changed though. The first in line is nice if you can get in and reserve a product fast enough. I've received 3 Luxe boxes (+ April to come) and I have now had 3 first in line products- a Benefit eye shadow, a Cargo eye shadow and an Essie nail polish. They definitely bring up the value of the box, but I don't think it would be worth it if you were forced into signing up for an account for a few months as you might not think it's worth it in a couple of months. I just cancelled my Luxe because Topbox and Glossy is just so much better.

I finished W3D2 today! I *think* my program is slightly different from you ladies as I'm doing zero to 10K (from RunDouble) so W3 is 4-3 min runs and 4-3 min walks in between. I felt good though and I'm feeling like I'm making progress
And don't worry, you all will be able to do the 20 minutes and then the 30 minutes later! But I remember how daunting it was to think about running that long. It WILL happen!
RE: Headphones- I just bought some bluetooth headphones (from Ebay- Nokia brand) and I love them. It's so nice not having the cords to deal with and they fit me way better than ear buds (which always fall out). They are ear buds on a head band shaped piece that goes at the base of the back of your neck. They don't move around at all when I run and they don't fall out either. This is them:

Ah, Toasted walnut is a green tea. Not everyone appreciates green tea- although it has a distinct flavour, it is not necessarily a strong flavour. I do use at least twice the recommended amount for green teas and I don't add milk/sugar (personal preference).
One thing to note, tea is just not like coffee. Coffee is very very strong and tea will never be that strong no matter what you do- unless you steep it past the point of being palatable. I'm guessing that if you ever actually get into drinking tea, you're only going to be happy with the strong blacks- and none of the ones you bought are that strong (although they do have a lot of flavour). Buttered rum and Read my lips have a good flavour, but read my lips in particular is not all that strong (kind of like if you had a weakly brewed flavoured coffee- like from a Keurig). Tea is also an acquired taste, so you need to embrace the flavours that are there

I hope you find that you like some of the ones you bought!

Rooibos is an herbal tea (ie. no caffeine) and it is African in origin. I think the red rooibos tastes really earthy, kind of like sticks, haha. I prefer the red rooibos with flavours that compliment the earthiness- my favourite is herbs de provence (berries and lavender). However, the coco chai is amazing! Green rooibos is much lighter in flavour. I like it with fruity flavours- like green & fruity. Rooibos is a great night time tea because it doesn't have caffeine. It is high in antioxidants so it is supposedly healthy

Some people like it with milk and sugar too!

If you are really serious about tea, this infuser from David's is amazing!

You just add tea leaves, pour in hot water and steep. Then when it's ready, set it on your mug and the bottom will push in and the tea (minus leaves) will pour into your mug. It's easy to clean and dishwasher safe as well! I use mine all the time.
Otherwise, I will use the filter bags (that you fill yourself). I also have this travel mug to take tea to work in the morning:

It has an infuser built in and it is leak proof too. Tea stays hot for hours!

Yes, I put the glue directly on the paper, then let it dry and put some heavy books on top to flatten it. The octopus printed fine, but I've tried to do a different one recently (a subway style sign for S'toon) and I've had huge difficulties! I'm going to get some iron on transfer paper and use that instead as it's supposed to work the same way. The big problem I've had lately is that the glue makes the paper all wrinkly and it doesn't go through the paper straight and can get crumpled up.

Thank you everyone! It was a lot of work this weekend to get everything installed but I love it

Because we did it all ourselves, the cost was around $500 in the end (but we splurged on the sink, which was $200 by itself). A lot of the decorations were free (like the washboard and a few glass jars from my mom) and the small pitcher is from Ikea with flowers from Walmart. I plan on making a mason jar soap dispenser at some point as well.
I wasn't sure about using tile on the counter at first. A slab or granite or marble wasn't really in the budget, so I picked out a tile I liked at Home Depot and some dual purpose grout/adhesive and a tile nipper. It was actually pretty easy to do the tile. The edges aren't super smooth, but I think it works with the overall old/vintage look that we are going for.

We finally (almost) finished our bathroom renovation! It was mostly a superficial reno- the only things we changed were the sink/vanity/faucet and paint colour. It's a pretty dramatic change from the original pale green. DH built the vanity entirely by himself- I tiled the top and painted it- and then he installed it this weekend (including the plumbing). DH has never done anything like this before (or really built anything or done any plumbing) so this was a huge endeavor. We made 4 trips to Home Depot this weekend just for plumbing stuff

The plans for the vanity are from Ana White.
Here's a before photo:

Now:

The colour on the wall is Behr Antique Tin.

The old washboard on the wall was my grandma's

This roman shade is a DIY pinterest idea- it's made using the original mini blinds and some fabric and fabric glue. I used Amy Butler's Midwest Modern for the fabric.

I made the octopus art myself (I posted it a while back).
DH is still working on a cabinet for above the toilet (which will match the vanity) and a "painter's ladder" shelf for the opposite wall (plans from Ana White) which will be painted bright yellow. I love how it all turned out and I'm so proud of DH

He was very frustrated through the whole process of installing the sink and plumbing!

Over all, Topbox is by far my favourite- for cost, packaging, and quality of the products. Glossy was fantastic this month though. Luxe and Glymm were just OK and I'm officially cutting them both (although I didn't cut Glymm in time so I am receiving an April box).

I had spotting and some pretty heavy bleeding for about 4-6 weeks afterwards. I had it for ~2.5 years and I would have only minor spotting for a couple of days a month (and I have really heavy periods normally). It's extremely variable. I loved the Mirena IUD, but I didn't have any issues with it.

1) Home Depot for sure would cut the wood for you, but you would need to buy a whole sheet so there would be lots leftover. You don't need MDF as it tends to be really thick and heavy- get a 1/4" birch plywood or something like that instead.
2) I painted our basement door with chalkboard paint that I made myself. You can choose a custom colour that way- all you need is a small amount of regular paint and unsanded grout. I chose Behr Stealth Jet (so a dark grey instead of black) and added the grout. Instructions are here:
http://www.marthastewart.com/271574/custom-color-chalkboard-paintOtherwise, you can find chalkboard paint at Michaels, and I think Martha Stewart brand.

Also, if you want the grey barnwood look, you can "artificially" age the wood quite easily. I aged some new spruce to look just like weathered pallet wood. All it takes is black tea, steel wool and vinegar! Submerge a few pieces of steel wool in white vinegar and soak overnight. Brew a strong, dark black tea and wipe it all over the wood. Then wipe the vinegar liquid over the wood and it should immediately turn grey. I believe you can sand it at this point to make it lighter in colour, and then you could put a matte poly over it to protect it (or possibly some sort of sealer). I would recommend trying it out on some scrap wood from your table first though to make sure it is the look you want. I made this from the fake weathered wood, and it was new natural coloured pine before I treated it!

Definitely not! I also focus on the living room and just put junk away that has accumulated on the coffee table/dining table, and put blankets away inside the ottoman. If I have time I do a quick vacuum because our house always needs to be vacuumed with 4 pets! I try to straighten the kitchen too. This afternoon we had DH's aunt and uncle over for coffee after lunch, so I spent at least 2 hours this morning cleaning the whole house (because they hadn't seen it before, so we'd need to show them every room). A couple more if you are interested!
Fibrodysplasia Ossificans progressiva (FOP)- a genetic condition in which fibrous tissue (like muscle, tendons, etc) is gradually ossified and becomes hard like bone when damaged. There is no treatment, but individuals generally become quite immobilized.
Osteogenesis Imperfecta- a genetic condition that causes extreme fragility of the bones (aka brittle bone disease). Individuals with this will often have bone malformations and be very short. It has variable severity. On the most severe end, it is lethal in utero or babies can have fractures visible before birth on ultrasound. However, some individuals can survive for many years with only minor issues.

Here are a few, not sure what will be interesting or not!
Approximately 1 in 18 males and 1 in 50 females have an extra nipple. Most look like moles along the mammary gland line, and some can be fully formed. Some women will have an extra nipple that produces milk in pregnancy.
Uterus didelphys- a woman born with two uteri which can result in two vaginas and simultaneous pregnancy in both.
Fetus in fetu- A fetus or infant who is born with a mass of tissue resembling a fetus somewhere inside his/her body. The theory is that this mass is an absorbed twin or a well-developed teratoma. There are several cases on Wikipedia that are quite fascinating.
On that note, a teratoma is a generally non-cancerous tumor that can grow to a large size and contain hair, teeth, bones and even eyes or limbs.
Strange genetic disorders:
- Trimethylaminuria- a metabolic disorder that causes someone to smell like fish/rotting fish
-Progeria- a condition that causes rapid aging. Children with this will die around age 13, but they will have baldness, arthritis, heart disease, etc. Very sad and very very rare.
-Porphyria- a genetic condition that is thought to be the origin of the vampire legend. People with this condition are often anemic (therefore very pale) and need to avoid sunlight or else they will blister horribly and it will cause a lot of pain. They can also develop psychiatric illnesses. King George III is suspected to have suffered from it.
