On week days, I work out during my lunch hour, either at my company gym or outside. It's the only way I can fit it in. I'm not willing to get up early and I can't work out after 6 pm because then I have trouble sleeping. On weekends I work out in the morning while DH watches the kids. DH doesn't work out reguarly.

I totally understand the frustration and self loathing that comes with trying to lose weight again and again and again and never having success. I remember looking at myself in the mirror and just giving up because I didn't think I would ever look any different. Even DH had given up on me and accepted that I would be overweight for the rest of my life.
Then, 18 months ago, I found something that motivated me. It was the first WB Biggest Loser Challenge. The idea of competing with other people to lose weight completely changed everything for me. I was on mat leave and started doing the P90X program, 6 days a week during my YDD's morning nap. Working out during that time helped keep my moods even (I had PPD with ODD) and gave me a lot of energy. I started tracking calories in MyFitnessPal and lost close to 20 lbs that first challenge.
I'm now competing in my 5th Biggest Loser Challenge. I've lost 53 pounds total and am 4 pounds from my goal. I've also spent a LOT of time dealing with my food related emotional issues. I know that to have any hope of maintaining my goal weight I have to stop bingeing and using food to make myself feel better. Also, for me, working out is secondary to eating well. I can lose weight without exercise, but I can't lose weight if I'm working out and eating like crap.
Anyways, I guess what I'm saying is that in order to lose the weight, I had to find the right motivation. I also needed to change my thinking and my habits. It's still a rough road at times, but this time I'm confident the weight will stay off.
I hope you find your motivation - you deserve to be happy and feel good about yourself.

It worked for ODD. We did it when she was 26 months and was showing all the signs she was ready. The first day we went through 16 pairs of underwear and by the first night she started to figure it out. The 2nd day was 8 pairs of underwear and the final day was only 3 pairs. For the first month afterward she had about one small accident every other day, and then the spacing between accidents became longer. It was probably 3 months later before I could stop worrying about accidents altogether.
We didn't do naps or nighttime though. Still, at 3.5, she wears pull-ups at night.

I'd suggest going to your doctor. I have psoriasis on my scalp and your symptoms sound very similar to mine. The doctor gave me a prescription for a topical steroid in liquid form that I apply directly to my scalp. I put it on before bed and it makes the flakes and bumps disappear over time.
Mine flares up with cold weather and/or stress.

When I was dealing with depression, DH and I had counseling sessions together with my therapist. I felt it was important for him to learn and hear things from an impartial person with knowledge of how to deal with the situation.
I'd ask your therapist and see what he/she thinks. It really helped my situation. In fact, DH and I still go for counseling sessions together once or twice a year, just to air things in a neutral environment and keep our marriage on track.

With ODD, the first year in daycare was the roughest. She caught everything under the sun - HFM, roseola, RSV, colds and gastro bugs. She's been at daycare for 2.5 years now and the last 1 year has been pretty good. She gets a cold maybe once every 3 months and gets the odd tummy bug.
YDD has been at daycare for 8 months she's had a constantly runny nose for that entire time. It's mostly colds and tummy bugs, nothing much more serious than that, for now. I'd say she feels pretty crappy for probably 1 week out of each month.

I was driving by my local high school this afternoon and I saw a former Girl Guide of mine (I used to be a leader) standing at a crosswalk with her friends. She and her friends (who are probably 16) were smoking. Now, my first thought was "I wonder if her mother knows," which was soon followed by "I wonder if I should tell her mother."
It's got me thinking, especially having 2 girls of my own. What would you do? Would you tell on someone else's kid for something like this?

A woman I used to work with did this. She was an engineer working for a large oil and gas company, made good money and had a life here in the city. Then she decided to quit her job and move to New York to become a professional tap dancer and singer. Her original thought was to stay for 1 year in NYC and see how things turned out. I believe she's been there for 4 years now and absolutely loves what she does.
I totally admire her - I think it's incredible to have the guts to follow your heart and do something so completely different.

I had a work husband, until he was trasferred to a different office 18 months ago. But luckily he'll be back in the fall! We go to meetings together, run errands and chit chat about office politics and personal stuff, and occasionally he'll give me a ride home from work. He and my DH are now friends, they do guy stuff together and we'll often invite him over for dinner or to hang out in the evening (he's single).
There are a lot of work wife/husband relationships at my office, it's pretty common.
DH has a work wife - they go for coffee and stuff. I've met her a few times. I have no problems with their relationship.

I lived there for a year a while back. While it doesn't have the magnificent ruins like Rome or Florence, it does have interesting things to see. The centre/downtown is a great place to stroll through the porticos and see some 17th - 19th century buildings and churches. There is some good shopping too. The Palace of Stupinigi (the royal family's hunting palace) is just on the outskirts and is quiet and pretty. There's also a church (Basilica di Superga) on a hill near downtown that has a nice view. The Mole Antonelliana also has a nice view of the city and Alps. I haven't been back since the Olympics so I don't know if there's anything worth visiting related to that. The Parco Valentino along the Po River is pretty for a stroll too.
You're also very close to the Alps and there are some great areas nearby to hike/walk (although I can't remember any offhand). The areas of Asti and Alba outside of town are known for their wine and truffles and would be nice to visit if you have a car.
Have fun - hope you have a great time!

I saw a RD to lose weight after ODD was born. She was helpful, discussed my goals with me and gave me a meal plan. It was generalised (eat X servings of each food group per meal) but also gave suggestions as to what to eat (no recipes or anything though). I had a follow-up appt with her and she went over my food journal with me and we discussed how to improve what I was doing. When I actually did follow her advice I lost weight. She also gave me advice on how to eat to increase my energy levels, which was helpful given I had a newborn!

With ODD I went back to work when she was 10 months old and DH took 2 months of parental leave. It honestly wasn't that hard leaving her as I knew she was in good hands (for 2 months at least) and any milestones I was missing DH would get to experience instead. I was so happy to finally have some freedom after being on call 24-7 with a baby!
With YDD I'm going back to work in a few weeks but DH isn't taking parental leave, so she'll be going straight to daycare. I'm definitely sad that she'll probably learn to take her first steps at daycare, but in the grand scheme of things I want to go back to work and we need the second income. Is she going to remember that I wasn't there for her first steps? Nope. With ODD I was just so excited that she was walking that it didn't matter when or with who it first happened. Being away from her all day just made me enjoy the time we spent together (evenings and weekends) that much more. And over time you see how much they enjoy daycare and how much they're learning and a lot of the guilt you might feel disappears (at least it did for me). And me having a life outside my home makes me a much happier mom.

I make 1.5 L batches of formula at a time. When I was using boiled water I would pour the water in a juice jug and let it sit on the counter until it was lukewarm. Then I would put in the powdered formula and mix it all up (I find it mixed better with warm water). Then it went into the fridge and I poured it into bottles as needed.
You can serve formula at any temperature other than hot. ODD would take it anywhere from cold to body temp, YDD is fussier and likes it to be body temp (so I have to heat the bottle in a bowl of warm water when I need it).

I bought a 101 Piece Cake Decorating Set at Michaels for my sister as a bridal shower gift. It was on clearance - I got it for $100 instead of $200 (there was no indication of why it was on clearance and it was the last one on the shelf). I opened it up and was overcome by the sweet smell of icing. It was USED! WTF! Five of the 8 gel colours were open and used, the vanilla flavouring was used, half the tips and tools were dirty with icing and there were icing crumbs in the bottom of the tool box (it was all stored in a tool box). Plus there were over 20 items in the box that weren't actually supposed to be there (extra couplings, extra tips, a pair of scissors, some piping gel, sprinkles and toothpicks). And 3 items that should have been in the box were missing (including a how-to book).
So, now I'm not sure what to do. I got a super deal on it so I don't really want to return it (I'm ok cleaning it up and still giving it to my sister). But I'm not OK giving her open & used colours and flavourings. And I kinda want to keep some of the extra items, but if I bring it all back to Michaels will they insist on taking the extra stuff back? In the end, I would at least like them to give me the items that are missing and replace the consumables that were used (the colouring and flavouring). Is that too much to ask? Or should I go further and ask for another discount? Or should I ask for an entire new kit (although there weren't any more on the shelf)?
I'm horrible at stuff like this...what would you do?
