DH and I are doing a kitchen reno but I don't know what kind of floor to put in...tile vs hardwood vs laminate. We were thinking a laminate that looks like tile, but after doing a bit of reading I'm concerned about the effects of moisture on the laminate. I'm worried that a hardwood floor would dent a lot (I tend to drop things) and I find tile is cold, hard and I'm worried it might break if I drop something.
What do you ladies have on your floor and do you like it??

I'm very jealous all your dianthus and delphiniums are blooming - mine will hopefully be in another couple of weeks (stupid Calgary zone 3).

Lettuce, spinach and peas will still work (on most seed packages it says you can have successive sowings until the end of June), and I think probably cauliflower and broccoli bought as seedlings (I'm trying to think of the veggies in my garden that finish early). It also depends where you live and how long your growing season is. I think it might be too late for tomatoes, especially if you want them to ripen on the vine. But as PP said, a local garden centre can probably tell you for sure!

I thought it lacked the wit and humour that was present throughout the series (and which is what I really liked about it!). I know that in a movie you can delve into more serious issues, but I thought it was overall kinda blah. The storyline with Charlotte was the most reminiscient of the series, the others were way too serious, IMO. Did anyone else notice how OLD Smith and Steve looked? Wow.
The best line was from my DH who, while we were waiting in line, said "For a movie theatre, there's a lot of cleavage in here!"

I agree. I have the 2" silhouettes on my living room window, which is about 48" tall and 96" wide. If I had a window as big as in the pic I'd consider going for the Pirouettes. Maybe it's just the way they are in the pic, but it looks like the Silhouettes are more "see-through", ie. you don't see the vane as much as the pirouette.

As soon as either DH or I answer the phone and it's a telemarketer we interrupt and ask that they remove us from their calling list. Luckily, I've never had them go into "fine print talk," they're always very "Yes Ma'am, have a good day."
My peeve is with the pre-recorded calls. Ick. "Press 3 now and you will win a free Caribbean vacation!"

The only movie I've ever walked out on while in the theatre was Any Given Sunday. About 3/4 of the way through I found I didn't give a crap what happened in the end, so we left.
The only rental movie I've stopped watching halfway through was Dreamgirls...<shivers>. Sorry Oprah, I know you loved it, but it sucked.

Rasputin
Sexyback (I didn't even think that we would play any dance music but one of the guests requested it and everyone loved it
Smells Like Teen Spirit, believe it or not. All the guys in the place got up and started "moshing" (actually, just trying to jump up and down really high).
The Chicken Dance - the DJ played this twice, why I'll never know.

Best decisions:
- only inviting 80 people
- hiring a wedding planner (all I had to do on my wedding day was show up and look good)
- having our string quartet compose the piece of music that I walked down the aisle to
- having a whole weekend of events for our guests. I got to spend a lot of time with my friends and family on the days prior and after the wedding
Worst decisions:
- letting my MIL give a 15 min speech (although I guess I really couldn't do anything about it - she did pay for half the wedding)
- the MC we picked (although we couldn't think of anyone else). He was OK, but some of his jokes were a little off the wall and I don't think a lot of the guests got them
The only other thing I wish I could have done was hire my dream photographer. The photographer we had was great (and in our price range) but I wish we had the cash to hire the photographer I REALLY wanted.
