Seems hard to believe it's actually come to this. WB was the source of inspiration in so many ways and an incredible portal to real life friendships, most if not all I never would have made were it not for this site.
It was also the source of drama, controversy and real life stress that I'd gladly have lived without, but alas. Through it all, the good always outweighed the bad.
I'm sorry to see it flicker out this way, but I'm so grateful that WB existed in the first place. My life is forever altered in so many good ways simply because google brought me here six and a half years ago.

Who's playing post police? You come here and post a picture of tumbleweeds - did you REALLY expect lurkers to come out and say oh wow we should be posting more? You're totally right?
You KNOW what kind of reaction posts like these are going to elicit. You've posted in the thread about what happened here on 'the other side' and you know how a good number of people feel about threads like this, here and there. So it really shouldn't be a surprise to you that these are the kinds of reactions you're going to get.
This, however, I do agree with:

Another thing to take into consideration is that it needs to be removed with acetone - you can't take it off at home with regular polish remover. So you should go back to the nail place to have them take it off for you.

Great tips, thanks! Yeah, DH's is fine - no bling in his - but I do have three diamonds in mine. But that does leave the back, which helps when the time comes.

DH and I both need to do something about our wedding rings as they're now just too big and we risk losing them.
I've had rings sized up before so I know how that works. But how about down? Ever done it? Any idea how much it costs?
I expect that even if we do it now we'll have to do it again down the road if all goes well so I'm wary about doing it at all until we're 'done' the whole weight loss thing. But I don't want to lose my ring, ya know?
Any thoughts/experiences would be appreciated!

Both MIL and FIL are currently in our guest bedroom where my SIL lives.
The family is currently talking about when to get together to scatter their ashes. They were both rather particular about their wishes (their daughter's gravesite and a park FIL grew up in) so it's a no brainer for us. As for permits, well, we're going to play the 'it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission' card should we encounter any issues.
The only caveat I'd give is to avoid places you may not be able to visit again easily (ie your backyard - you sell the house and it's hard to come by when you feel like it) if you wanted to be 'near' them from time to time.

That's kind of how I'm leaning, too. It's cheaper (I think?) and will give us much more longevity (I hope?) than real hardwood. And don't even get me started on what these three animals have done to the carpet throughout the house. Insane. Doesn't help that it was very poorly installed in the first place, but little kitty claws digging at seams does not a pretty sight make.
And let's not forget that the dog eats the stairs. Good times.

Interesting that the reviews are so mixed. Hmmmm.
Thankfully Finn's a non-shedding breed so that works well for both laminate/hardwood and carpet. But he is a messy bugger - paws dirty all the time, etc. And his beard makes him drip water everywhere, despite the fact that he drinks in the kitchen over ceramic.
But he's also part spaz and loves to do those insane running laps throughout the house. And despite regular clipping he does have narsty claws.

Seems like anything really does go here in misc so I'm asking here instead of home or zoo, then cross posting to all of them.

So.
We're starting to gather more information about our options so wondered what others have found that have worked well. We're looking at either high grade laminate, actual hardwood or good quality carpet.
Our current carpet is the standard builder's crap. It's a cream colour and EVERYTHING shows on it.
We like the idea of laminate/hardwood, but are concerned about what Finn's claws might do to the surface. And we have two cats who are hellbent on destroying our house so we need to factor that in too.
Would love to hear any personal experiences about what's worked and what hasn't.
Thanks!
