We eat healthy dinners because otherwise DH wouldn't consume any vegetables during his day at all! I mostly make chicken, fish or pork tenderloin with roasted veggies, and sometimes potatoes. We eat out on Saturdays. DH can cook but I prefer to do it because when he cooks, he drowns everyting in excessive sauces, and I would rather taste the actual food!

We spent the Easter long weekend there - first time visit for us both - and we just loved it! Good Friday and Easter Monday were travel days for us though so it was two full days and two half days!
We stayed at the Casablanca Hotel in Times Square. It's a boutique hotel and it was so lovely! It's quiet as a library despite the location and there were great extras. Breakfast included (bagels, fruit, cereals, pastries), free wine and light snacks in the lounge every afternoon and free lattes/cappucinos all day. It made for a nice place to relax after a day of sightseeing. We'd go back to the hotel to rest for an hour and have a drink before getting changed for dinner and heading back out for our evening. And the location was perfect - we had access to so many subway lines!
The hop-on/hop-off bus was a great way to get an overview of the city. We took the full 2-hour tour.
Top of the Rock was fun but we missed out on the NBC tour because we didn't book ahead. Next time we'll buy tickets online before we even leave home.
We went to Harlem on Easter Sunday and had chicken and waffles at a soul food restaurant. Delish!
Saw two Broadway shows. Hard to recommend any without knowing your tastes, though.
Central Park! Next time we will spend more time there - it's so huge and we had only about an hour to take a walk.
This walking tour was fun definitely a highlight of our trip!
http://www.foodsofny.com/nolita.phpIf you see Tim Hortons in Times Square and think "yay, a taste from home", don't bother. It was the dirtiest and most disorganized Timmies I've ever seen and we didn't even stay long enough to order!

Our floor has just a few scratches - all made by DH who was too proud to get help moving heavy stuff and dragged it instead.

Food! I disagree that wedding food is generally mediocre. We got married 5 years ago and a few months ago someone who was there said something to me like "yeah that prime rib at your wedding was awesome!" LOL. And I know DH and I always remember which places had good food and which had meh food. So I do think to many people it stands out, and people appreciate being fed well.

We just saw Book of Mormon in NYC last week (paid $300 for a pair of tickets but we purchased them in October) and Anything Goes cost the same money for the two of us, so I don't think $300 - $400 is unusual.
We purchased our tickets by going directly to each show's official website. When we saw the lines at the TKTS booth, we were glad we did. Waiting in line just eats up so much time and we only had a long weekend in terms of time.

I like the middle woman AND the woman on the left. I find boobs and curves most appealing, and I prefer a "softness" as opposed to a harder, muscular edge. Thankfully DH feels the same way. As someone else pointed out, there is nothing flabby about the woman on the left. She seems fit for her own body type. And I'm not lying when I say I don't want to be the woman on the right. If I did, I'd still be trying to lose weight and I'm not. I'm happily maintaining a body that's a cross between the middle and the left. That's what looks good on *me*. I don't have to aspire to someone else's ideals.

Maybe she thought of moving but once she saw you fit into the seat she figured she didn't have to bother? I don't think I would have moved if I were in the middle of eating. Granted, I would have taken a small booth if I were alone...but if circumstances found me in a large one, I wouldn't pack up my half-eaten lunch and offer to switch. Fast food is first come, first served. If DH and I don't see seats in a place like Subway, we just do take-out and bring the food home.

We just spent three nights at the Casablanca Hotel in Times Square. With an interior room, it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop at night. The service was amazing and we had free wine and cheese every evening before heading out for the evening.

It's rated #1 on Trip Advisor for good reason!
I suggest checking out the Nolita (north of Little Italy) neighbourhood. Great restaurants and character, and a nice way to take a break from the bustle of Times Square. We did a food tour that was so much fun and a good way to learn about the area.

The "loose weight" one drives me nuts. Try reading the boards at My Fitness Pal once in awhile and you'll see it constantly!
The other thing that's annoying is when people use apostrophes every single time they use a plural, like "There are lot's of choices," "My parent's are coming over this weekend," "We looked at two house's for sale."

Those familiar with the city, any suggestions for a pre-show dinner near the Stephen Sondheim Theatre? (124 West 43rd St.) We'll be eating Italian the night before so I'd rather avoid having it twice!) Otherwise, open to anything, budget not a huge issue as we've planned on one "fancy pants" dinner. laugh

I'd choose one, but I have always been a "slow" traveller. I don't like to rush through places and prefer to just "be" someplace to really experience it. I guess that's why I never did Contiki tours. Your styles may be different though. Logistically, you could do both, I just wouldn't enjoy it as much.
