It's kind of like with the changes. Everyone kept complaining, things exploded, attention was continuously given to the negative so it never went away. Want things to disappear? Ignore the buzzle hype, ignore the threads, start threads that are going to generate real convo because it's a fact that WB is dead.

And - does anyone think the former Admin would treat us this way? He was always involved in the community, acknowledged our questions even if they were ridiculous. He joked with us and formed a positive relationship with the members. How would he have dealt with the situation?
He sure as heck wouldn't have told us to find a new forum. He wouldn't be non-existent in the community, especially during such a sensitive time. Why is it okay for the new Admin to be so dismissive and rude?

With the whole "IT'S A FREE FORUM YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO HAVE COMPLAINTS" argument, I understand it to a point. That's the side I was on when the initial change was happening. However, at this point, it's faaaaaaaar beyond that. Admin is being outright disrespectful to users, users who are generating money for the company. They chose to break the forum into CanFam and WB BECAUSE WB was already established, that way they would already have devoted users and would have a higher chance of success with the CanFam forum.
Yeah, a bunch of people left, but a whole lot of us have stuck around. Instead of treating us like valued members and acknowledging our concerns or the concerns of their own volunteers, they typically ignore us altogether. People get irritated, start posting more aggressively, and then instead of acknowledging the reason for why everyone is so frustrated and why Mods are on strike, etc, Admin tells us to leave.
I'm sorry, but Admin is PAID. She has a job to do and she isn't doing it. Whether or not the forum is free, it exists for a reason and wouldn't be around if it wasn't benefiting the company. Without the forum, would Admin have a job? They made CanFam an extension of WB for a reason.
And yeah, I could very easily delete my account. But I'd really like to stick around, I enjoy the users here. I have learned a lot and gained hours of entertainment on this site. I haven't been around as long as others and haven't posted as much, but I log in numerous times a day and am always following along.
It's also ridiculous to make such a broad generalization and say that everyone who is upset is just looking for a fight. Do you seriously not see WHY people are upset? And do you genuinely believe that EVERYONE who is making complaints is in just causing drama? Seriously. I'm pretty sure that the users who have stuck around would like to have things settle down, but they haven't been able to because of an Admin who just... doesn't give a cr@p.

Just a heads up - just because they SAY they're good with it doesn't mean they will be later. We dealt with a lot of drama because of this, and I didn't expect it at all so it really got to me.
Not saying it will happen, not trying to scare you, but wish I was more prepared for that. The idea of a DW is appealing to a lot of guests until it comes time to pay, and then the reality of it can make people change their minds
Good luck

I remember when I was 2.5-3, I got stuck under a bed when hiding on my babysitter. Oh! Around the same age, I would ride my tricycle to my neighbours house next door and ring their doorbell, and they'd always give me green beans that grew in their garden. Weird.

We had a DW.
Considerations:
- who we wanted at our wedding. DH has a huuuuuuge family with family friends, etc... I don't. There is a language barrier between myself and many of his side. We wanted a small, intimate wedding and ended up with 38 guests, all the people who are very close to us. Sure, some of our friends couldn't make it, but (most) people were understanding.
- my family would have to travel anyways as they live on the opposite side of the country.
- I had never left Canada and neither had my family
- cost. We couldn't afford a giant AHW.
- we wanted to share a vacation with all of those who were closest to us.
There was quite a bit of stress due to drama in DH's family... But in the end, it was 100000% worth it and most definitely one of the greatest weeks of my life. All of our guests had a fantastic time and are trying to plan group trips for the future. I think the drama would have existed either way.
Feel free to PM me if you want to chat!

I love DS, our 2 cats and 1 dog... But am so sick of having a shadow. I'm always being followed and whined at and I just want to think about me for a day.
I'm a packrat that is currently wanting to go through everything in our house and throw it out because I am so.sick.of.cleaning. I deep clean twice a week and it's still untidy. I'm donating everything.
I'm terrified of failing.
I have a secret crush on Dexter. It's really just the moment in the opening credits when he's pulling the shirt over his head... But every time my breath catches. Hahaha.

I started taking macaroot about a month ago at the recommendation of my cousin who is a nutritionist. My hormones were all over the place around the time of AF and I was unable to control my emotions, etc - felt like a crazy person.
Since starting, I feel a lot more balanced and stable, yet AF has been all out of wack (it was late, then lasted a day, then started fully a week later and lasted a full week...). MIL saw me taking them and expressed concern about me taking something that interferes with my hormones at all without consulting a doc first, natural or not.
Anyways, wondering if anyone else has taken them or knows more about them. Should I be more cautious about taking natural things?

I've been running an in home daycare for the last year and before I started, I was sure I'd LOVE it. Then I started and am always at home, ALWAYS surrounded by children (DS stays when the others leave :P), I'm a WAHM, and a housewife. I do all the cleaning and cooking and have no choice because if I don't, my business suffers. I've burnt out fast.
I'm currently studying photography and am switching careers - I need something that's mine and that gets me out and away.

Anyone think that maybe they're trying to get rid of those of us who are already married, trying to reclaim the forum as a wedding forum? While planning my wedding, I originally came here to get help, but ended up using the forum mostly for entertainment purposes. Misc is the only zone that gets a ton of traffic (aside from BB).
Maybe they're splitting it so that they can get the demographics they want - those who are engaged, those planning on having a family, and those with children already.
It sucks but... It makes sense.

I just got a 7 qt Crock Pot and am desperate for some recipes. I'm a little nervous about it's size as it seems like most people in the crock pot recipe thread have smaller ones. Does anyone have recipes to share for such a large size?

... I contributed a name I remembered from high school that I remember giggling about, to a silly thread with a bunch of strangers. I never made fun of her, I treated her, the person, with respect in high school.
My MIL's name is F.ahemeh. One of my favourite women in the whole world is named M.ahboubeh. There are F.ariba and R.oughie. M.ajid. A.ssal. A.rash.They're beautiful names - did I have a hard time with pronunciations in thr beginning? Yes. Do people make fun of their names? Yes. Do they care? NO. They are proud of their culture and who they are! Who cares what other people think/say/do? DH pokes fun and brushes it off.
I think the fact that you are surprised that I'm married to an Iranian because he has different views from your Iranian DH offensive. Really?
