I saw it on Thursday, in a radio station 'preview' type thing and absolutely loved it! Agree with Diva on the first point of the 'spoiler' box

AND, we were sitting super close too, so it was worse, I think.
I honestly loved it all, and thought what they added in was perfect to kind of fill in the naratives that are missing in the book to movie transition (and it made it more fun to see Stanley Tucci more too!!

).
In a way, I liked the movie as much, if not more than the book. It was truly well done. Only complaint is not enough Gale

Anyone have this crib? I'm currently having a bit of an issue (well, another one!) with it, and I'm wondering if I'm alone. Starting to think we got a dud of a crib.
In a few spots, the paint has started to peel off. There's two spots where the paint has peeled off and large chunks are missing. I know he's chewed a bit on the crib itself, but I never thought paint would actually start flaking off like it has. We had to give him a bath after his nap this morning cause he was covered in little white specs.
Anyone else have this issue?
For the sake of having a visual, here's how bad it is:

J'ai trouver que depuis que nous avons notre petit monsieur a la maison, on fait un effort beaucoup plus prononce pour parler Francais. Avant, c'etait juste plus simple en Anglais, puisque nos emplois le sont en grande majorite, mais on veut vraiment que Nico parle le Francais, so on le parle plus a la maison

J'ai toujours aime pouvoir parler en francais sur WB, c'est tellement le fun!!

Yup! I wasn't too sure at first, cause I could never get it installed right (bought and returned the JJ caddy a few times), but after being told on here to make the top straps looser so it does sit flat, it works like a dream!!

My SIL has a Bugaboo and also mentioned the slant issue, so I had taken pics to show her how we installed it

This is with Blizzards, but I've put SB in it numerous times now, and it works great

And, as you can sorta see, we put ours on the handle portion, and it's not an issues to push the handle bars at all. We even have the hooks for my Jujube Bag on there, and it's not in the way

My parents used to have a sticker version of that BoB sign. They had it from the time I was a baby to when they sold that car, so my brother was 7 at the time I think?
We have one and used it for a while. It didn't change my driving per se, but having a baby did. I am more careful than before (I was never a bad driver, I don't think, but I don't speed quite as much and such). I also had it for the accident reasons posted earlier: if there's an accident, people know there may be a little one on board. It keeps falling though, so it doesn't even stick anymore.
I did get some family stickies for DH for Christmas, but only cause they are Star Wars themed, and I thought they were hilariously cute. I get a kick out of some people's bumper stickers and such, so to me, it's fun. I like the more different and original ones (although, actual pictures are just creepy!!! :S ).
I truly never thought people had such strong opinions on the matter.

We had some fun ones at our shower. One was a clothesline with clothing pins on it, and whoever could hold the most clothes pins in their hand (take them off, all with one hand and keep them in that same hand) would win a prize. The setup was that, you're going to clean lots of clothing, so you need to know how to keep lots of things in your hand at once (or something alone those lines). The dads in the crowd loved it, cause they could show off a bit (it was a co-ed shower).
The other had baby bottles with a few ounces of Apple juice in them, and whoever could empty the bottle first won. My uncle cheated and just chewed off the nipple, but it's apparently quite hard to drink from baby bottles

The Baby calendar pool was always fun. It's a 50/50 type game, where you make a big calendar and people buy off the day they think you're going to have your baby on. IT was fun, hubby's uncle won it, and they wanted to buy us something with that money (we got a brand new baby bullet!). I've done it for my BFF's shower too, and it was a big hit! If you have a larger crowd and just 1 month isn't enough, you can do AM/PM for every day (as I did with BFF's shower, cause there were so many people there!).

Thanks ladies!! We asked for his ROE some time ago, so I'm hoping they were on the ball about it, and I had called (and got through!!! lol) EI to have the info added on for the switch already, so we just have to do the online thing come Friday night, and I think we should be good. Just need to confirm they did send his ROE (or if he has the hard copy, I'll go drop it off this week myself).
Nice to know they are good about those switches. Was worried budget-wise, just to make sure everything would still pass OK

We have Pampers and Huggies here (not necessarily brand loyal, we just bought some cheaper ones before and they really sucked for us... They were really cheap brand ones though), and they do fit differently. N. is in 3s right now, but the Pampers 3s are too small sort of. Not by much, but we've had more poo-splosions in those than the Huggies 3s, which seem to be a bit bigger... We've mostly got Pampers left now and the Huggies we have are size 4, so we'll go through the Pampers 4s and then do the Huggies 4 I think. There is definitely differences in sizes.
Aquax, I didn't know you had to be careful cause of umbilical hernias?! We just found out last week that N. has one (his doc never told us, he just monitored it, and it's apparently starting to shrink now...). What exactly do you have to look out for? I guess nothing that rubs against it?? You can PM me so we don't completely hijack the thread

Oh, and the 'dresser' I think you're referring to is actually part of the TV unit... I just hadn't fixed them properly in the picture (there's a door right on the other side of the tower portion, so it can't be moved farther).

Oh, if we had a garage!! One day, they'll be in the basement, with the rest of the computers and video games, but for now, in the tiny apartment with little space, they stay in plain view

It's better than it used to be, when our nursery was a computer room, there were 2 displayed on the wall (from a fantasy series, so definitely some funky ones!), another on a plaque he'd made (cool plaque, could do without the sword), and one on a floor rack... They are now being stored at his mom's house.
And, thanks for the input, no pics above the TV

Might check and see if I can put some up above the sofa

I cannot make decisions to save my life, so figured I'd ask for an opinion from people who will likely have a better eye than I do for this stuff.

I probably wouldn't put tons up, but a few nice frames with family pictures probably. So, would it look OK or stupid? Would you leave it empty or putting something other than family pics there?
Thanks!!

One of the bedroom doors in our appartment sticks quite a bit after it's been closed for a few minutes. This also happens to be our kiddo's bedroom door, so if we need to do a quick in and out while he's sleeping (like, when the cat decides to hide in there after we put him down for a nap, lets say... stupid cat!), the sound it makes will wake him and we're screwed.
Is there anything I can do to alleviate this sticking spot? I'm guessing it's due to the painted door and door frame combo, but I really don't know what to do to make it stop. Any suggestion at all would be great. It can't be anything too drastic though, as it is a rental.
Many thanks!!

It's been pretty bad for the last 3 or so days, but he's done it before. A few times when he was just done eating and then he'd kinda chomp down on my nipple (with no teeth at the time), but never quite like this.
If he's really tired I don't have that issue at all. Yesterday, it was more 'good' than bad, but today, I could barely feed him myself, and had to resort to bottles.
We've also seen his reflux come back in the last day, so I'm wondering if his tummy pains could be the cause? Or low supply? Wish I knew what is going on, cause it freakin' hurts!

I don't know the answers for most of these, I wouldn't want to say something that isn't the correct thing, BUT for cracks, the best thing to heal them is breastmilk!! I didn't believe it until mine were completely trashed, and a drop or two of breastmilk after N. was done eating, and within days it was so much better!
You basically just express a couple of drops after baby is done eating (congrats on the brand new baby!!

), you spread it around where it's needed, and let it air dry a bit and that's it.

Good luck with everything!!

My almost 8m old has teeth. Lots of them too (7 as of this morning!). At first it was great, and we had no issues with BFing, but in the last few days, it's been hell. He is biting. HARD. I don't know why, other than maybe his teeth hurt and he needs it, but he has a ton of toys to do that with. Anywho, in the end, he just bites too much, I HAVE to unlatch him and stop, cause I'm in tears from the pain. To the point that I'm surprised he hasn't drawn blood yet.
Has anyone had this happen? Is there anything I can do? Right now, I just tell him No, but he doesn't get it. I've tried telling him no and trying to unclench his jaw, and it works for 2 seconds and he's at it again. I'm at a loss.
Oh, and also, very sure it's not cause he's done (I know it can be a cause of biting), because he tries latching back on after a minute to eat some more, and he'll down a bottle if I give it to him. Part of me is starting to think we're just done BFing, and we'll need to move on to formula only (which I have no issues with, I just do like BFing more than I anticipated. And it is much cheaper too

).
Thanks for any insight!!

justagril, I know, I think I mis-phrased it. I know the labor board wouldn't do anything about the smokers vs non smokers getting breaks, I just meant that a lot of things, including this, are making us want to go to the board. I mean, really, who keeps trakc of when you go to the freakin' washroom?! Especially when they say you can only go on your lunchbreak and then take it away! I seriously hate these people!

If it was just the breaks, it wouldn't be so bad, but the fact that all the other employees who smoke can do as they please, that's the bigger issue I find too... And then taking away the lunch break cause they can't staff properly, that's just stupid. There are a million other little things too that we're having issues with, which really makes me want to call the Labor Board on them (well, for the hubby, it's not for my workplace).

HEllo ladies!
Just wondering something, and my powers of research are failling me pretty badly. Can an employer not give you any breaks at all during the day, other than your 30 minute lunch break (during an 8hr shift), while the smokers in the office are allowed to go out whenever they want to smoke (to the point that they give you crap, no pun intended, for going to the bathroom)? And also, can your employer take away your lunch break because they've decided it's too busy and they need you to work that extra 30 minutes, making it that you have absolutely no breaks in your shift that day?
I tried looking about on the labor board's website, but I can't find any information at all.
Thank you so much for any input!!!

Definitely voting! I actually have to look into advanced polls this year, as I may be a bit busy with a tiny new Canadian around that day (unless he comes early). I also always drag hubby with me. Most of the time he doesn't give a darn (mosstly for the municipal things, since we still don't feel like we're from here... I'd have less trouble voting in a municipal election where I lived as a kid), and I've told him if he wasn't sure, to just 'spoil' his ballot.
Now, I am wondering, what's the difference between abstaining and 'spoiling' your ballot? Or is it the same thing?
(BTW, using the quotes around spoil, as I mean having it rejected, not defacing a ballot so it doesnt' get counted. Just easier to say it that way).

Hubby got our tires back, and two of them are pretty worn, but the other two are apparently really good looking, so we'll likely try and just find 2 tires, instead of 4, and that should cut costs. I will have someone check them though and tell me if we can make it on with those 2 decent tires at least for the year. If they tell me no, I won't cahnce it, but if we can, then for sure I'm not buying 4 tires for nothing!
And yes, our safety IS my priority right now, which is why I'm trying so hard to make it work. We really don't have the money for this right now (actually, I will now be working right up until my due date as a result

), I'm just hoping to find a bit of a deal somewhere, that's all

Also, anyone know a good, reliable and not too expensive mechanic/garage?? We have a pretty big brake job to get done on the car too, and with going on mat leave in a month or so, it's definitely way more than we thought we'd need to pay right now

First off, you wear a SIZE 4?! Holy crap! lol That's tiny!!
Second, I have those shoes and LOVE them!!!

If I hadn't bought my Manolo's, I would likely have gotten Louboutin's for the wedding

The one thing I was a bit sad about was that the red soles are completely wrecked on mine now, and I only wore them once outside (and I was being SO careful too walking around!!), so if you want some pretty and fun pics with your shoes and the soles showing off, take them before any outdoor pics, just in case. I hope it's not an issue for you, but just in case, thought I'd give you a heads up

Enjoy your pretty shoes!!! They totally rock!!

I wear glasses, but am not completely bling without them, so for the ceremony and all 'formal' pics, I didn't wear them (I can go really long periods without wearing them and it doesn't bother me too much). When we got to our reception though, I put them on at one point, I can't remember why, and didn't take them off and I love how those pics turned out.
I'd say it depends on your comfort level and if you like 'you' with glasses or not.

Thanks ladies!

The problem I had with the other one resides in the plastic bottle portion. Because there's a bit of a flat part between the top 'bottle' part and the neck where the water comes out, that part gets grimy (sp?) and icky... I had tried a brush kinda like the one you describe, Ruby, but it doesn't really bend enough to get that flat portion in there...
The bowl itself is super easy to wash, it's really the bottle part on top I had the issue with. I think what FF described would work wonders for my old one (with the weights to clear off the grime in the bottom portion), and I'll defintiely try the vinegar soaks for this one to keep it from happening.
Thanks ladies! I know my explanation was a bit iffy, sorry about it not making much sense :S
