I saw a video of our wedding last night and it was so awesome...especiall the part when my bridesmaid bailed walking down the isle! LOL. She is such a trooper, i wish i knew how to share it!!!

Id like to think ive been a pretty lax bride to be but i bet the people in michaels yesterday thought i was a nut job when i was almost in tears when she told me they were sold out of soft moss 1/8" ribbon LOL.
Congrats to us all ladies! It's all winding down!
I can't wait to party in 2 weeks...im so looking forward to a child-less night hahaha.

Im sorry to say but im glad im not the only one who's having a bit 0f wedding drama! My reception/ceremony venue is being very un professional..im stll waiting for my final invoice...that was due 2 weeks ago! I really want to get this thing paid for so i know how much we've got left over from our pot to potentially add to some other areas of the wedding!
All my bm's dresses have been altered and let out and they can sit down and breathe now so this is a good thing!
Things i have left to do are: order my pdf seating chart online (Meechie i found someone on etsy! Thank you!)
-make all my wedding favors (this will be a tad time consuming yowza)
-buy some table number holder things (michaels here i come! haha)
-call and reserve the rehearsal dinner space
-finalize the timeline of events with our mc
-find some ushers for the ceremony
3 weeks and counting...ah!

My bakery's were overpriced and tasted gross so that made my decision easy! I'm a plain and simple kinda girl though so organic schmanic fu fu is not my thing.

My dress front! Dress back with bustle I don't have a pic of the train on the dress as i was there to get it bustled but it's pretty short...like maybe 2 feet behind me.
Went to Michaels tonight to find ribbon to put around the bottom of the cake i dont really want and I lucked out and got an exact match to my bm's dresses! And the whole roll was on sale for $4.00 to boot, what a steal lol.
My manfriend got fitted for his tux today too and got everything set up for the other boys. It's nice to have that out of the way! We ended up going with the CK one too like many other's on here.

I ordered our non guest book guest book...a picture of a tree that people sign their names on. Thought about the thumb print, but I think it'll just be a tad to messy! Still on the search for a cake topper...I don't know if i'm picky or what but i'm not really finding anything I like which is interesting considering I don't even want to have a cake ha.
All my bm's dresses came in and I picked them up this weekend! I ordered 7 off bestbridalprices.com and they are exactly the same as the one's we tried on at the bridal store out here but we paid $100 less! Point for Jules!

Really nothing wedding related going on this week here..except maybe trying to kick this disgusting addiction i have to sour cream and bacon chips! I really need to watch my food as the seamstress is takin off so much of the dress i dont have an option to get fatter haha. Im getting my hair colored on Tuesday to try and get to my ideal color i want for the wedding, it could take a bit of work as i decided to dye my hair black in some parts...tres chic but not wedding.
Im joining all you ladies who have been doing reno's this week as I've got 4 different paint companies coming by to give us estimates on cost for paiting the entire joint, im excited to finally paint our ghost white walls...maybe it will finally start to feel like home over here

Lysh-it feels so good to have those invites done hey? Now you can sit back and relax for the responses to roll in! Our invites were supposed to be more than regular postage too and the lady at the post office said nope they're fine just by a hair, and we didn't have any returned for insufficient postage!
That bridesmaid situation sucks. I don't live in the same city as any of my bridal party , so i know how it feels to be out of the "groove" so to speak...and it's my wedding! lol. I bet you she feels left out a bit and honestly a tad jealous that she's not able to take part in anything. I guarantee she didn't forget, maybe shes just hurt. Talk to her about it! I know it's not really your job to be worrying about her right now, but if it were me i'd reach out and let her know that i really wish she was closer to be part of it all. Heck, i'd even skype her during the shower but i'm lame like that haha.

He's a big fan of Thomas the train and up in Squamish (near Whistler in BC) a real Thomas the train comes in for the weekend and you can buy tickets to ride it and meet Sir Topham hat. I"ll have to post the picture of my little guy meeting him cause i think it's awesome---he is screaming bloody murder haha. I'm such a mean Mommy
On the wedding front, i had my first fitting on Tuesday and It went awesome! They're taking the dress in about 2and a half inches on each side all the way down as it appears my hips have straightened out or i lost some weight...i'd like to think it's the latter but i can't take credit for any hard effort!
We figured out the bustle on my dress and an FYI, they charge per point in your bustle so buyer beware! I ended up with 14 somehow but it looks so pretty! I've got pics on my cell phone i'll try and upload and post here but i'm not quite sure how.
My shoes came in...in the wrong size
So we had to re-order, no biggie!
I'm eagerly waiting for the BM dresses to arrive in the next month as i kinda forget the color of green it is and i need them to try and match the tux vests!

Upon consultation with my florist we decided no as it will be too warm outside and they have to be in water almost all the time for them not to die. So i nixed the hydrangeas and am going with 43 carnations shaped in a circle for my centre pieces which gave me a similar simple, classy, bright look!

AFM- we got 15 response cards back this week already! Whoo! It's so cool to get them back...but now i need to make sure I don't lose them all haha.
We (or more like I lol) are starting to mock up the seating tables. What are you all doing for seating? We're going to do assigned table, but pick your spot seating. We're also not doing a 'head' table so to speak. My FI and i will have our best man, moh and their dates at our table and that's it. I think we're going to be at the more front part of the room, but not on display like a traditional head table. I don't want anyone staring at me as I hoover my food down. lol
I go for my first dress fitting next week and am a little mortified as i didn't lose that last 11 lbs haha. Oh well, at least there will be another fitting in 2 months!
Can you believe we're at the under 3 month mark now almost...YOWZA.
In the next 2 weeks i need to figure out where i'm going to order my personallized circle envelope stickers from online, and narrow down where i'm going to get my BM's totes for their gift and how i'm going to go about getting them embroided.

I got all of our invitiations out this week....2 weeks later than i wanted but i can breath a sigh of relief now! I just read your post Meechie about putting honeymoon registry inserts into your invitation package...i did this msyelf too. I don't think it's in bad taste at all...we're not asking for gifts or anything like that but merely answering the questions we'd get phonecalls over in advance
So im in a bit of a pseudo tiff with my fiance's groosmen- tell me what you think:
I want to be there to pick out the tux's for the wedding. So i'm trying to set up a time where all (or nmost of )the boys can get together with myself and my fiance to try some different styles on. Well apparently this is taboo.The guys are up in arms and think this is ridiculous. They say im supposed to pick the tux out on my own and then i get to see it for the first time at the wedding.
Am i the only one who thinks this is ridiculous?!
My fiance's friends definately ain't no Taylor Lautner look alikes and have some extra pounds of love around their body so it's not like i can pick out any tux and it will look good.
There's one groomsman in particular that's being a whiner about it and i want to throw my shoe at him im so frustrated!
So tell me, did you ladies go with a few of the men to try out different outfits and then picked one you thought worked well on most of them? Am i out to lunch on this?
My next things i'm looking for to purchase are the guest book and i've got to get my bridesmaid gifts in order! What are you all doing for your bm's?

A very close family friend of my fiance (his best man)'s mom passed away yesterday. She had lung cancer (never smoked in her life, and is 56) and succummed to it after only being diagnosed in January of this year
We thought she'd make it to our wedding but i guess the big guy had other plans for her. Ugh, i hate cancer...and i'm sure everyone else does too!
I've been sick as a dog for the past 5 days and i feel as though i'm trying to cough up a hair ball 24/7...and i don't have pets! So i went to Walmart last night to pick up some diapers for the kid and throat losenges and such and i was appalled that they lock up their cough medicine and its not for sale after the pharmacy closes at 6! WTH! Who locks up cough medicine? I know, the end of the world right?! LOL. Im a bit of a winer right now...i just want my ears to stop popping and not sound like a horse when i cough.

Aunteli-I got my invites at Michaels. For $60 i'm impressed ...and $350 under budget haha. I had a pretty big chunk set aside for invitations in our budget but i really like these ones now that they're all done! Now its time to start typing out all the guests addresses on the envelopes!

I think they're really cute (and envy everyone of you as i do not have those mad skillz!), but what are they for? Photo op's? Or are these part of a gift for your peeps?

I got a new phone (not an iphone, and android) a year ago now, have had it completely replaced (with the same phone) , and in totaly sent in 9 times between the two phones for different reasons every time. I had a loaner phone from Nov-nmarch of this year. They finally gave me a $700 credit towards a new phone with this new loyalty program last month. Best idea ever.
But you definitely have to put up with some bologne from having it sent in to be fixed time and time again before they give you what i got. Just go into the store where you bought the phone and they should help you out.

Then my gf's have said they've got a map made up of "Jules' favorite hot spots" in town that represent my past that we'll spend time at! Needless to say i'm sure alcohol will be involved in every spot!

DayDreamer-YEAAAAAA HONEYMOON! We're going to Playa del Carmen and staying at the Royal for a 8 days 2 weeks after we get married! It was a battle and a half for me to get the bf on board though as he really did not want to go to mexico! Initally we were doing Hawaii but he finally caved...happy wife happy life right? muahaha.

Link Im so excited. The only bummer part is we have to pay for it in full right now in order to get the rate/flights etc we want and i wasn't planning on dishing out $4 g's at this point in the game. I'm really hoping some of our gets contribute to our travel registry :)))
We initally wanted to fly out the day after the wedding but the only direct flight from Vancouver leaves at 7am the day after, so that's not happening. The week afer i'll be in T.O. for meetings (they better not change those dates!) and then its caribbean time baby! Can you tell i'm pumped? OH. And this resort is 16+, so totally child free...WHOO! Now that's a vacation!

I've done a few half marathons and tonnes of 10k's and love running! If i lived in town the sea wall would be my bff i think! Im always out in White Rock running the promenade.

Browntown- We did the re budget crunch last night too and thankfully we're on track. I overbudgeted for quite a bit (like cake and wedding favors) so we're saving in a few areas.
Is everyone doing a rehearsal dinner? Where are you having it?
We're doing a restaurant as we're out of town, but we're getting down to our "roots" and going burger and fries style at White Spot. God i love their legendary! We're going to have about 7 kids at the rehearsal dinner so i feel much more comfortable doing something familyish and not so fancy!

It's one of the most special and important days in your lifetime and you'll definitely want to look back with no regrets! I don't see how your FH's momma would hate you... i know religion means a lot to some people, but the fact that you make her son happy should override the minor detail of getting married in a church. It doesn't make your vows and less real! None the less, it's not easy and i wish you all the luck in the world in finding a venue and i wish i could help you!
TNT- we should have done the Sun run!!! All i could think about yesterday as i was eating some easter candy and watching the recap on global was hmmm , i should probably get off my butt and move haha.

Last weekend we got to go to our venue and check it all out and it's beautiful! Met with the flower lady and finalized our flowers and then went on the hunt for some earrings which turned up nothing to write home about!
As the "big day" keeps getting closer, ican't help but feel more and more pressure to lose the 11 pounds i vow i'd lose back in january...
Anyone else trying to lose a few before the big day? I wish they had a bulging brides casting call right now because id be a great candidate!

I can't see who. Was talking about invitations but were getting ours printed this week! Were mailing ours out we decided in the 1st week of may as our wedding. Is somewhat of a destination as everyone is out if town and they have to book hotels.
I ordered the bridesmaid dresses a fee weeks ago now and they are slated to arrive in July! Im glad that's out of the way, UT was stressing me out! The dress I went with us an Alfred Angelo, style 7126 color is clover if you care to Google! I have no idea how to link yet!
I'm going to the venue this week to walk through plans with the hotel and look at their linen options. I think I'm having a change if heart in regards to getting married on the sand at the beach as the rental company we're getting our chair s through won't set up. On sand due to legality?? Lame, so I'm gonna check out the grassy knolls near by haha
I'm meeting with my florist this week too to okay with different arrangements! I'm doing an all white bouquet withal Tad of greenery, very simple! Ill post pictures when I figure it out LOL.

I have people across the country on my Linked in that i've never met IRL... but if the president of a fortune 500 company wants to add me, hey i'm game 'cause you never know who you'll work for next!

Ive been thinking alot about the bm's gifts lately too and was thinking about steering away from the traditional jewelery thing and trying to do something a bit more personalized. All my girls are trendy fashionista type ladies so i was thinking getting them a reusable bag made with the first letter of their name embroidered on it with and then putting a few pampering products inside for them. I work for BBW so luckily i can get a fair bit for a decent price....
which leads me to my next question..
My future MIL was telling me that apparently according to tradition, you should be spending as mucnh on their gift as they did the BM dress. Has anyone heard this?
Ive been in a TON of weddings and i definitely know that they did not spend $ 150-200 + on EACH bm's gift. What are your thoughts?

Our officiant just emailed us to touch base and sent me a list of the things we needed to do before we get married (paperwork etc..) and im lucky he did 'cause i had no clue!
Meechie- i'd probably do the groom and the groomsment in different ties myself! Love that purple too and everytime i see it it makes me reconsider our colors lol

I would definitely try to get out of that lease and wouldn't re-lease again. You don't get anything at the end of the term except an over priced buy out option!

We live in a new development as well and my FH is a member and was more than pleased to tell the guy posing as...
We live in a new development as well and my FH is a member and was more than pleased to tell the guy posing as a 'community police volunteer" to beat it when he continued on to ask about our occupations, security we use to protect the home etc.
There is no community police volunteers in our area.
The following week there was a notice on all community boards from the RCMP about this fraud and to not answer any questions from the imposters showing up at the door.
I'd call!
