We live in Winnipeg, going to Grand forks (which is about 247.7 km away) for 2 nights. Hotel is about #120 for both nights. We will be shopping, and going for dinner/drinks.

If you serve KD in your house, how do you prepare it? Follow the directions on the box? add what you want?
The only reason I ask is because I was served KD as a child and my mom would prepare it without ANY butter/margarine and or milk. My DH loves to serve it with the 'suggested' butter and milk and to me it tastes disgusting.

I have a spare bedroom in my house. We have no children, but plan on having one while we live in this house. So the room will become a nursery. This room is also used as a guest room. We have a blow up mattress we use for guests, so no bed needed.
My question is, what do I do with this room? We are planning a small reno in there sometime in the fall to make the closet bigger, change the carpet and paint. The bedroom square footage will not change.

I used to stress myself out like that. Everything had to be perfect, otherwise Christmas would be ruined!! Well, this year with our trip I just decided NOTHING has to be perfect! I got thoughtful gifts for everyone, did my baking and I am NOT stressed at all! I know it matters to you if the tissue matches the bags.... but is it REALLY that important? Will the people receiving the gifts scream in horror because the tissue paper does not match the bags? Just something to think about.

Best Decisions
-Venue: we had our wedding in my grandparents backyard.
-My dress: $1900 for a dress that just sits in a box now, but it is BEAUTIFUL, and I got tons of compliments (even from my BIL)
-DJ: A friend of mine's father has a DJ company, and my friend was the DJ, he did a wonderful job.
-Caterer: Everyone LOVED the food.
-Decor and DIY: I did all the decor myself, and it turned out perfect.
-Make up and Hair done by a professional: Need I say more? I looked amazing!
-My groom: I can't even express how lucky I feel to be married to my husband.
Worst Decision
-Doing a practicum from 9-4 and working 4:30-11 for 5 full weeks before my wedding, giving myself 3 weeks after to get everything done.
-I wish I had given myself less time to work on the wedding. Like, I wish I had gotten engaged, and then gotten married 3 months later. I spent too much time worrying about every little detail.

My sweet, sweet, rugged, DH does not shop for clothes. His wardrobe is HORRIBLE! If it were up to him he would wear the same band t-shirts he's been wearing since we met in 2002. So I have taken matters into my own hands. For nicer items I like to shop at RW&CO. The clothing is a tad expensive (compared to say, walmart) but VERY good quality, and stylish. I also shop around at thrift stores and I have found quite a few good items for him at very low prices. Hope this helps!

We recently drew names in my husbands family and I got a female in his family whom I don't know very well. So I am just wondering if you are a female, somewhere in or around your 20's, what would be a good gift from someone you really don't know too well?
Things I know she likes,

Wine
Going out for supper
Red Meat
Shoes
Just putting it out there, I refuse to buy any bath related products for people. Thanks in advance people!!

I may get burned at the stake by other WB'ers for saying this.... buuuut...
I don't like to have my husband do any house work. I mean sure it would be awesome if he did, and he once-in-a-blue-moon does laundry or dishes. But I feel so guilty having him do that stuff. He works so hard at work, and I can tell he is exhausted at the end of the day. I work about 35-55 hours a week (I am a sub and also have another job so it varies from week to week) and he usually works anywhere between 60-80, I feel like for things to be fair, the housework should be my job. When we did make the same amount of money, and worked the same hours we split the household chores 50/50.

Hopefully NOTHING. AT. ALL. Cleaning my house tonight, and purchasing and consuming a bottle of wine. My dad wants to come into town, and he stays with us. Which is totally fine, but I feel like I would like some quiet. So my weekend of doing nothing sounds like it is going to be pretty busy! haha

DH got to sleep in because he had an appointment, while I had to get up alone, that was kind of annoying. I was assigned a 6 week full-time temp position at work, when I got there this morning, they had no idea why I was there. Glitch in the system clearly, but that was a major let down. Spent the day doing tasks I am totally over qualified for, therefore bored as he)). Working late at my second job, and still need to go grocery shopping.
But tomorrow is FRIDAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!!! turning my phones off all weekend and doing whatever I feel like I wanna do, gosh!

Avoiding you? Or seems to be at least. My best friend who was my MOH recently stopped calling me, about 3 weeks ago. We used to talk everyday, and hang out at least once a week. So, 3 weeks ago I quit the job that we worked at together, and now getting a hold of her is like pulling teeth. I called her the first week Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs. and on Thursday I left her a message saying I was getting worried. She calls me back 20 minutes later saying she was checking her messages and that she was staying at her parents because they were out of town (I totally forgot.) so we talked very briefly, and she told me she had to go, whatever that's cool I get that. I called her the next day at her parents, no answer.
The following week, I call her on Mon, Wed, Fri, no answer. left a message each time, no call back. This week, I didn't call her until today, and when I called the line was busy, so I waited a bit, called back again, still busy. Wait about 15 minutes, rings, no answer.
I know her work schedule, I know her social life (basically nothing, if anything she has people over, rarely goes out), I know when she should be home, I know it's not a *new* guy, because she would have told me.
I know something is just not right.
The last few weeks that we did work together, she was very rude to me. And for the last few months, she feels like it's okay for her to tell me what's 'wrong' with me. "Oh you are like this" "You're the type of person that..." usually, those sentences are ended with something not so flattering.
One of my other friends told me that she is probably jealous. I am married, and she is desperately searching for someone, I am "thin" and she is struggling with her weight. (for the record, I struggle with mine too) I have a house, she lives in an apartment. I have extra money, she is just scraping by. I just started an amazing new job, she is stuck in the old one. etc, etc. (These are my friends words, NOT mine!)
Basically I feel like our relationship is 'over.' I do not know if it's jealousy, I do not know if she just realized she doesn't want to be my friend because I am "like this" or "I am the type of person that..."
Another possibility is that she is back together with this abusive a-hole she has dated on and off for almost 10 years. They have been "off" for almost a year.
Should I keep trying to call her and find out what's going on? I feel like she would deny anything, or she may just continue to avoid me.
I know what some people are going to say, she is not a very good friend, why would I want to be friends with someone like that, etc. But we have been friends for 7 years and she is a good friend to have. She is funny, has a lot of good advice, and can cheer me up when I am upset. We generally have a lot of fun together.
A part of me feels like maybe I do not want to be friends with her anymore either. She never want's to go out. She wanted to celebrate my new job with me, and said she would come over but when I called her she basically bailed, saying she had no money. She may or may not have had the money, but she is very much a home-body and doesn't ever want to come out, not even to my house. When we do hang out it's always at her house or out for food or shopping.
She hurts my feelings when she says unflattering things about my character, and I need a friend who wants to hang out and do other things besides sit around and eat.
I dunno what to say, I guess this was more of a vent than anything. Any advice or perspective would be great, thanks if you read this far!!!
