This does make me sad, despite having finally started being more active over at Buzzle and rarely coming here at all for the last little while.
I didn't find WB for my wedding, I stumbled across the forum when I was looking for a forum to talk to someone about my miscarriage. I found support and so much love here. I shared my pregnancy and the early arrival of my monster with the ladies here. His growing up. My near death H1N1 experience. So much. Serious topics, frivolous topics... everything in between. I shared so much with so many and for that reason, I'm sad to see it die.
My thanks, WB. Hope to see you all on the Buzzle.

My brother and I get along well now. Far better now than we did when we were growing up. Seriously, I thought he was the coolest thing in the world until he was 5 years old. From then on, we fought like cats and dogs. We called each other names. We hit each other. We yelled and screamed. Don't get me wrong, we loved each other in our way but we fought a lot. We didn't develop a good relationship until I moved out of the house. And no, that's not a joke.
I have one child. He will be our only child. I'm making sure that he's socialized, has lots of oppotunities and is included in our activities. I think that the child's experience as an only child is largely a by-product of the parents. I don't believe he'll grow up lonely or hating being an only child.

Confession! My house is a mess, my dishwasher needs to be emptied and I have three loads of laundry to do and all I want to do is crawl into bed and take a nap that I haven't done anything to deserve except not sleep well last night. I get the feeling today will not be a productive day and I just can't bring myself to care.

I have sleep apnea so I'm more than willing to answer any questions that I can.
I would definitely get your DD checked out! I know that my quality of sleep has improved so much since I got the CPAP machine. My sleep apnea was one of the worst that the respiratory therapist had seen. I stopped breathing 120 times an hour. Every hour. The doctor and respiratory therapist both want me to go for another overnight assessment. So looking forward to that! Hmmm... where's that sarcasm button again?
Anyway, from what you've said, it does sound like it could be sleep apnea. It's certainly worth looking into. And best of luck. Feel free to PM me if you like.

This is going to sound kind of stupid but I heard it at a time when I was having a "friend" issue and it stuck with me because of that. You remember the show "Home Improvement". There was a scene once where Time was talking to Wilson over the fence and Tim said something about "but he's been my best friend for ten years." and Wilson responded with "Has he been your best friend for ten years or was he your best friend ten years ago?"
Like I said, kind of stupid that it stuck with me but it kind of made me realize that the 'friend' I was so upset with and felt taken advantage of by was really not my friend anymore. I was the one doing all the work and all of the giving. It helped me realize that it was time to let it go.
I'd say that, if you're asking this question, it was definitely time to let her go and I think you're making the right choices.

I ordered it on a whim then found out about the automatic order thing. Fantastic idea!

Sorry, couldn't resist. Anyway, I called and cancelled my "next order" that I never ordered and of course they asked me why. Told them I'd like to see how the product actually works for me before I order more. We'll see if stays unordered.
With that said, I've only used it once and definitely found they recommend wayyyyy more than I needed. It did, however, seem to leave my hair nice and soft and I did love the scent and the tingle. I'll see how it goes before I decide.

I don't know if this has been posted here before but I wanted to share it anyway.
http://projectunbreakable.tumblr.com/Project Unbreakable was started last October as a photography project by a young woman. In it, she photographs survivors of rape, sexual assault, and sexual abuse holding a quote from their rapist/abuser. Since she started, she's been inundated by submissions from people sharing their own quotes and stories.
It's terrible and amazing, all at the same time. And terribly hard to read. And it really drives home how frighteningly common this is.
ETA: She also has a Facebook page. You just have to search for Unbreakable to find it.

I went to see a photographer who spent some time in Tibet, touring around and taking pictures. His pictures were amazing, as was his perspective. He said (and I don't have any evidence to back this up) that the benefits to the local economies from Everest are actually quite minimal comparatively and that the locals call Everest "The Bank of China" (translated into English, of course).
He and his friend made the trip to the base camp on Everest and he said that he couldn't imagine climbing the mountain. He was also talking about someone who was suffering altitude sickness on the first stage of the climb (having just left base camp) and was brought back down to the base camp. He said that it was kind of frightening to witness them bringing the man back in.
Obviously his opinion may be biased and so on and so forth but I found the presentation very interesting, the images were beautiful, and the talk really stuck with me.

I'm uncertain as to how it would be copyright infringement since the whole point of pinterest is that it pins the picture and links you to the website the image is on.

The monster is in a double bed. We had the space and figured we would buy a bed that would last him until he's older (DH says it'll last him until he takes it with him on the way out the door and I just roll my eyes LOL). This way we also have space to lie down with him when we're reading and there's room for his assorted stuffed animals.

I'll start! I bought these just recently and I'm pretty happy with them.
http://www.etsy.com/listing/88560884/swiffer-washable-hand-duster-refill-setI like that they're reuseable, obviously. I find that they might not pick up dust quite as well as the swiffer refills but it really just takes an extra swipe so it's not a problem. They do a good job and less garbage.

I have an iPad and a regular Kobo. I do read on my iPad sometimes but the Kobo is my go-to for reading. I take my iPad most everywhere with me and I have the Kobo app on it so I can use it when needed but I do find it fatigues my eyes if I'm reading for long periods which is why I got the regular Kobo. I don't think I would get a Kobo Vox. I like my iPad and having the regular Kobo ensures I can always read.

It bothers me too. I think it's a terrible decision and sends an awful message.
Personally, I wonder if she did it because her "team" doesn't want Chris Brown's fans attacking her. Or if they're trying to increase her record sales by appealing to his fans too? I don't know. Personally, if someone beat me so badly that he put me in the hospital, you can be sure that it would be a cold day in hades before I ever worked with him again. Or had anything to do with him at all.

Yeah, chores is not the right word but I do want some things that he does regularly.
Setting the table would be easy since most nights it's jsut the two of us. But because it's generally just the two of us, I tend to just serve up the dinner at the stove and carry it to the table. Still, he could put the cutlery out and the glasses.
Thanks everyone! These are great ideas. I just want some small things that he can do to help out around the house to get used to the idea that we all help out around the house.

Anyway, I'm just wondering what kind of chores you have your four year old do. The monster does a few things like clearing his own dishes from the table and putting his clothes in the dirty clothes but I think it might be time to incorporate a few more small things.
So, any thoughts?

I'm disgruntled about the lack of answers from Admin and miss the old Admin too. But, honestly, regardless of where they move the boards, isn't this forum whatever we want it to be? I mean, beyond what the advertising of the magazine is geared towards, don't we decide what happens here based on our posts and our interests? The TTC forum isn't going to disappear, right? Or the M&L forum? Is the only change (technically) going to be the ads we see?
And please, don't think I'm dismissing what seeing some ads would feel like for some of our community. We lost our first pregnancy and were just starting fertility testing when we were blessed with the monster man. I know during that time it would have bothered me to see a bunch of ads about babies. I guess what I'm saying is that we're not suddenly going to have a bunch of articles posted -on- the forum, are we? We'll still be the ones posting and discussing whatever we want?
Well, as long as there's no cursing. Heh.
