That's so hard. Many of the ECE's at DD's daycare have kids in care there as well. There are always times that they're own kids cry when they see their mommies or want to be held. You're doing as best as you can there mama - he'll get thru it and it'll become his new normal eventually. Be strong. It'll all work out. It's a lot of changes at once for him and you as well. I would give him the attention he needs when he sees you. Eventually he'll just want to play with his new friends. Hugs.

I don't have two so take this with a grain of salt. My DD is the same age as your DS. She does the same thing with DH. We've gotten pretty strict about the way she treats DH now. We alternate nights on bedtime routines. I get out of the house when it's his night and they spend quiet time together to wind down. Could you maybe start with a routine of altenating - one night you're with DS and the next DD? That way they both get some time with each of you?

We received DD's Health Card Renewal and on it there is a section for Organ Donation. I've always been pro-organ donation but I don't remember having to check off so many boxes for different organs/tissues! I'm not really sure I want to check off some of these but I'm not sure why... its kind of creepy to think of this stuff in regards to your kid kwim? I hope to god I will never have to experience this type of thing but god forbid something did happen I would want to help others and see her "live on"... if that makes sense.

Last night was not a good night. I'm such an emotional eater it's disgusting! We found out our neighbour passed away last night and what did I do? I picked up a bag of chips each for DH and I... I ate the entire bag! I'm so embarassed!

We found out yesterday that our neighbour passed away. He'd been sick for several months with cancer. He was very young (30) and has a young wife and almost 3yr old son. I'm going to be bringing over a casserole and a card later but for the life of me I have no idea what to write! We don't know them very well but BIL was good friends with him.
So far this is what I've got:
We are so very sorry for your loss. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you and childsname. Childsname is alwasy welcome to come play with ourdaughtersname.
Is the last sentence odd to have in a sympathy card? Should I just mention it to whoever answers the door?

Good job ladies! Keep it up!
Hope those with injuries can rest up and get well quickly!
Wel I think I'm good to go. I had my last week with the clinic. She told us now that we're done we can increase our lengths of time running vs. walking. She suggested that we try to run most of our runs and only walk hills, etc.
So last night I went out with a GF for a run - I was planning on doing 6/1 and then changed my mind as we were running to only walking hills... well honestly we hardly walked any of the hills!
My GF was so impressed - she said she could see such an improvement in my cardio from just a few short weeks ago! We ended up doing with our warm-up and cool-down walks - 6.4km! HOLY MACKERAL! I couldn't believe it when I mapped it when I got home!

Q - when you want to hit your daiy % i.e. for protein etc (I've adjusted my macros accordingly) - How do you check that you have? I know it says at the bottom of the daily totals but that isn't accurate if you aren't eating back all your cals right?

Soo...
Now I'm confused...
My TDEE is 2597
CUT is 2208 (15%)
BMR is 1895
So that's a difference of 313 CAL - if I earn more than that in exercise I have to eat some of those CAL back?
My current daily total is at 2,138 which is above my BMR and pretty close to my Cut.
My daily goal is now 3,029 (do I just disregard this?) with the exercise I did today... (821 calories)
Am I ok with the daily total I'm at? I had a 2 glasses of milk and a wrap with peanut butter when I got home to make up for some of the cals I expended.

I have to agree with Sparklish and Mo_Mo - the little boy has a dad. I would ask the mother how she explains things to her son. If you knew the father you could show your son pictures of him and explain that he's the little boy's daddy maybe? I think it's important that you get that fact across to your DS. He obviously isn't saying it maliciously but he's probably confused as to why the other boy doesn't have a daddy around and why he's calling your DH daddy.
Not an easy situation but you could ask the mom for some guidance so that you aren't telling your son things her son doesn't know about.

Question - when you go into your profile to change your goals - it tells you the projected weightloss weekly - obviously they aren't using the same formula etc right? It makes me panic when it tells me I'll only loose 0.01 lbs a week!

I have no idea... we've been batting around a bunch of ideas. The list of things to do around our house is a mile long but the sensible thing would be either to put it on debt or invest it in RRSP's for next year. Maybe we'll do half and half. W6D1 - last night... 5min intervals - kicked my [censored]! Ugh. Our leader changed up our route and had us doing more hills than normal. I thought i was going to die! Halifax/Dartmouth is known for it's hill and up til now we've tried to avoid them but no more... I'm hoping that Wednesday's clinic run isn't as bad though I'm kind of doubtful... We did 5.7km last - insane! I was sooo slow though I wasn't alone in my slowness.

Raynn - Congrats again on your first 5k!~ Must feel exhilerating to complete it!
Marieal - Have to agree with the others - I try my hardest to just wait for the beep of my watch and not look at it. It makes it harder when I'm on my own running to keep looking at it.
TW - Good job!

Our friends just sold their home and had a young baby and toddler - around same age as your little guy - my friend was on Mat-leave as well. She found it challenging but it worked out in the end. She tried to make sure she was out of the house in the mornings so that the house didn't get all messy from her older guy playing and in the afternoons (he didn't nap anymore) she tried to organize something outside or low-maintenance for him. Sometimes his grandparents would come and get him.
This is what they did:
1 - Storage Unit - was a godsend to them! They removed A LOT of furniture as they really had too many big pieces in a small space. Packed away all books, CD's, DVD's, pictures, off-season clothes, extra "stuff" that's just not needed...
2 - Kijiji, Salvation Army, garbage - got rid of "stuff"
3 - Removed all family type pictures and replaced with borrowed artwork/prints (we lent them some of ours)
3 - Kept counters clear at all times and did dishes on an ongoing basis.
4 - Swept kitchen/dinning room floors every morning before leaving and made beds.
5 - Bins/wicker baskets, etc She has this great coffee table that has bins in the bottom - she would throw anything lying around in the living room (toys, papers, remotes, etc) in there.
She didn't really remove any baby paraphenelia. I wouldn't really worry about the swing/co-sleeper as long as they're out of the pictures taken to go online when people come to visit they should understand that there are children living in the house.
ETA - When I want to "hide" things I thrown them in my drawers when I can't put them in a closet but I like Amazoness' suggestion of having a "go to bin" for short-notice visits.

DH and I are both tall and overweight. At this point we're pretty similar in build which makes me cringe. I'm pretty sure he weighs more than I do but unfortunately it's not a whole lot more. I'm working on losing some and getting healthy. He keeps saying he should exercise/eat better but isn't really that motivated.
When we met 13years ago I had just lost 60lbs and looked pretty good. I haven't always been overweight... but it's a struggle. I'm like a yo-yo - it just keeps coming back... As long as I've known DH he's had a belly on him though at times he's slimmed down considerably.
