FF, with respect, why do people like yourself BEG for others to stop talking, never express how they feel, and are MODERATED to death? Why can't YOU let people say what they want to say even when they're NOT breaking the rules?
Yes, in real life people rehash things, and SURPRISE, they sometimes are not perfect and don't say perfect things, VERY VERY VERY often they wish they said things differently. Sometimes said people actually think their own personl reactions could have been dealt with differently.
Why does everything anybody says have to be stifled or CONTROLLED in which the way you, another forum member or a member of your mod team feel? Is it a control issue or what?
Maybe let people just say what they want to say for a change without all the stupid sprinkles, rainbows, whipped cream and juvenile other stuff.
Before you react to this post, take a deep breath another SIGH and THINK ABOUT IT!
This is not a post about whether I agree or disagree with anything anybody is saying, just let people be people for crying out loud. I understand you've been notified and you have to go in and moderate but without ANY of the moderating experience that you have, just a thought, maybe its time for a different generation of thought tracks/decision making mods? Whadda ya say? I don't think its working right anymore.

I'd like to weigh in too even though I've pretty much been laying low.
Even with laying low I cannot believe how annoyed and turned off I am with the recruiting, the over zealousness, the over enthusiasm, the 'love you's' and freaking awesome, then to come here and see it continue on a different level...I just am completely turned off.
Somebody had to say something and quite honestly maybe the same "enthusiasm" should be matched with people posting buzz off and shuddup already.
But then again I find it kind of entertaining watching an escalating freakshow.

I have my own input/gripes but I just can't help but comment to those with young kids, no matter how many...those years are very short.
I've 'done' those years and they seem to last forever and you're stuck in some kind of time warp. One year old seems like 5 years or forever; 5 years old seems like 20 years or 'no end in sight' but planning a home purchase shouldn't be based on such a short term. Unless its a short term purchase.

Ho hum, I hate being accused of making broad sweeping statements.
Kato, without getting into details, what I mean is you can plan, draw everything to scale, visualize, research and it just never turns out exactly how envisioned. And often times the best looks or complimentary plantings turn out by "accident". Many gardeners will say the same thing.
I didn't think the OP was having 300 lb trees delivered. Leaving this "to the professionals" - I wasn't telling her to do a DIY root canal or change the transmission in her car. Speaking of cars, all my shrubs and perennials have been transported by car - I don't have a truck.
And as far as 'hoping for the best' - if a "professional" plants they're going to leave eventually and she'll still be hoping for the best.
And yes, google DOES have ALL the answers. Maybe some people cannot operate google properly and require a professional googler. People aren't born with this info or 'skill'.
I also don't think she's planning or planting a golf course. I thought I was trying to be encouraging, to not be so intimidated and maybe save a few thousand bucks.
Sorry, I could say more but the effort I'm putting into this response is practically nil.

I'd suggest your husband not drink any purple kool-aid and be thankful that Charles Manson did not show up for his latest parole hearing.
Why are you even asking here - have you and your husband ignored the flaming red flags that have been shot at your brains?
I won't give suggestions as to how he can replace this sports/fitness class.
And really, what kind of sports class is it? What is he required to buy exactly?

I really hate to be argumentative at times but I have to, without quoting, really kabosh Tatania's comments.
NOOOO, good, expert, know-it-all gardener could EVERRRR keep that plan. Every yard, soil, eperience, season is different.
The "plan" would never have worked out to plan.
I've read, I've been involved with forums, I have my own experience and can share first hand experience of other gardens.
I ASSURE you, I promise you, I'll give you my word on my own children, NO plan ever works out to what it is intended to. With gardening - never ever ever - no matter what the garden centre says or what an elite planner says. Ask any "real" gardener - they'll say the same.
Gardening is like golf - there's never a perfect swing, there's always room for improvement and/or fine tuning. And there's always room for error.
Never be fooled into it being so black and white.

Personally I would NEVER pay someone to plant trees, shrubs or flower beds only because I can do it myself and its not as intimidating as one might think.
As far as a price out of the ballpark, no idea, but I can tell you I'd do it for half that price.
I'm not being conceited either, so I hope it doesn't sound like it. There's a woman who is probably at least in her mid 60's down the street from us who literally hand-picked and transported most of the boulders from our yard and I drive by her house very often and see her doing "man's work". What a little powerhouse she is. If she has a husband, son or brother or even neighbour friend, I never see anyone giving her a hand. She cleans up meticulously, digs up and transplants her stuff on her own.
Put it this way, if someone offered YOU $2-4,000 for a weekend's work of grunt work, would you do it? Keep in mind that any "tidying up" they do will have to be maintained all summer.
I'd save that 'planting' money for the bigger projects, JMO.

My mom's are sitting on the shelf right beside me. We were going to bury them in her garden but nobody seemed to jump all over that idea and I wasn't going to dig by myself so I took them.
If you're dumping them in the ocean/lake, why the heck would anyone care if the fish are eating bones or teeth (which I actually find hard to believe - why would fish eat tooth fragments when they have their regular food? whatever).
Making decisions about what to do with ashes is just not something I would be deciding before a person has passed. Why not wait until they DO pass which could be years and they're "preserved" so there actually is many years after that to decide.
I can see discussing burial/cremation but my gawd, if I knew anyone was talking about what to do with my ashes NOW, thats the creepiest thing of this discussion thusfar.

I posted quite some time ago about "my" experiences in Home Life.
I'll try and not make this rambling. Hardwood will show marks; the darker the stain, the more unforgiving.
I raved about the laminate we had way back in our other house. It was from Ikea, natural maple I think it was. BEST laminate I've ever experienced (I now have had 4 experiences).
First things first; depending on the wood, finish or look, different woods present differently. For example oak has an open grain so the laminate has to show this or it looks like plastic; maple naturally has a closed grain so looks better as a laminate.
Our BEST experience was with Ikea's 79 cent per sq/ft. but it was "old style" which was a click and lock I think but had glue. My washer overflowed, I had younger kids with horrible toys, big dogs, cigarettes fall on the floor, nail polish - totally indestructable. It looked the same after 12 years of installation.
I won't go into other experiences as they weren't the same - ie. swelling after minor water sitting on a seam.
Now my point is, the post I made was after seeing a designer use
http://www.karndean.com/ OMG, when I saw this flooring in real life I couldn't believe it. Start googling and oggling. Its beautiful flooring and has a much nicer "feel" to it. This designer said they couldn't get it installed fast enough.
Given the chance, I'll be looking into this flooring myself on day.

Since Kato set the theme I'll write my short/long story.
My sister and I are 18 months apart. We of course grew up together. We both started figure skating at a young age and excelled. We both skipped a grade the same year; at the same time our excellence in figure skating seemed to sky-rocket. My sister excelled in 'figures' and anyone who knows figure skating 'way back' she got to her 8th in less than two years. She went to Winter Games. I excelled in free skate but always bombed on the compulsory figures. We were both high achievers at a young age.
We both started to 'party' at the same time all the while maintaining a love/hate relationship that really, had us best of friends. This lasted for many years.
Meanwhile my younger brother was five years younger and we tormented him to tears (notice I never said "bully"?) Anyway, he was as nerdish as they come. He was supposed to actually skip grade 8 and after my parents saw what happened to us they said no.
Its really no wonder why they don't really skip kids grades anymore.
He never turned out to be a brainiac in the end anyway but excelled like us two girls and my parents at sports. He was drafted to the OHL at 16 but by that time both my sister and I were long gone without another thought for the nerd.
Eventually we started going to his games when he played for the OHL, North Bay and more in particular when he ended up in Kingston. They're boarded out and when he got traded to Kingston it was a "nightmare/blessing in disguise". The family that took him in was a young guy (with family) that ran a family owned funeral home.
OMG, did things change. My brother grew to be ginormous all the while losing massive amounts of bodyfat; the geekness was gone and he was living with this absolute LOON of an undertaker. My gawd was his boarder FUNNY and fun. Now my brother was approaching adulthood, cute guys from every direction, everyone liked to party. It was a good time.
No longer was my brother the pudgy awkward preteen that I once knew. He can still be annoying as hell but he rivals me with his cooking skills. He is probably the most best carpenter and craftsman that I've ever met but we argue vehemently about "ideas". He has a look like Mike Holmes but cuter and his impersonations of Mike Holmes are far more entertaining than the real deal.
Now, my sister is just someone I cannot understand (she's a whole other story) but we are no longer close. Its sad and its a shame but my brother, I swear is close to the funniest most personable people I know and its not because he's my brother. I have literally gotten up from my lawn chair peeing, as I cannot handle him he's so funny.
We all like to drink but my sister I cannot stand but my brother knows how to do it right without EVER crossing a line - like ever. I appreciate that and it can be fun on summer nights out on the deck or at xmas reminiscing (sp?).
He's sensitive, is selfish with listening but he makes me laugh and is a good girlfriend. He has surpassed me with fatherhood (as opposed to my motherhood) and he's still good looking in our older age.
I feel honoured to be his friend.
I love him very much no matter how much he annoys me.
Oh gawwwwddd, no I wanna call him.

I can't figure out Elise. I think she has a lot of experience - but in a club. Maybe she just wants the exposure and doesn't want to an "American Idol"??? I would love to sit through a gig of hers in a club and maybe thats what her aim is.
If she was serious she should have pounded the hell out of Hollie, raked her eyes out if she had to to fight for that song - and lets not forget how many amazing songs she could have chose. What gives? For those in the GTA I listen to 95.3 and everyday, there are amazing songs played from that genre that you gorget about and are overlooked. I don't think the dearly departed great Marvin Gaye himself could have won this particular audience.
Tsk tsk Elise.
And only trying to be arguementative but its Skylar's personality that IS the problem.
Jessica is a truly gifted singer; I might even go as far as to say in the way of Whitney, Celine, and others but I just can't help seeing her with Mickey Mouse club ears on.
Since Milly has lots of contact info and phone numbers (BTW, where is THAT thread?) she needs to contact Elise and Jordis for the girl rockband.

Well I've got lots to say:
Hollie: For me, I think Adele's song was my favourite performance of hers. Her second song - Son of a Preacher Man - I love that song, always have and when we found out that was her song all I thought was "OH NO! Elise should be singing this". That said I hated it. No soul, no nothing and the whole thing was rushed. Just not sung properly.
Colton: Totally forgettable singing. He can put on a good show but that fancy dancy craft creation of EW&F song was a colossal disaster.
Elise: I thought her Alicia song was really good and there's just something magical about a fan blowing a chiffon dress. I just really like her. Too bad her second song choice wasn't as good as she could have done. It very well might seal her fate which is disappointing because I think she's capable of far more.
Philip: Was okay for me but his second song was one of my favourite performances of his. I thought that was quite good.
Jessica: Excellent vocals of course and of course after last week, she's not going anywhere now. I don't like many of her outfits and sometimes her hair just looks awkward.
Skylar: Like the energizer bunny her batteries seem a bit over-charged. Nonetheless, if you like that kind of thing she's great. There's something about her that I dislike. Her second song Heard it Through the Grapevine I absolutely hated.
Joshua: blah, blah, blah, blah - same thing, so wonderful, so full of soul and heartfelt, an honour to see him sing, blah blah blah. Again, if you like that sort of thing. He's good but I could live with him gone.
Sadly Elise will be in the bottom with Hollie and I think maybe Colton. For some reason I think Hollie has a bigger fan base than Elise.
I think Elise and Jordis should start a rock band.

I think I mentioned this before to you - but now, I just don't know how one could get themselves so jam-packed into a pickle jar.
First, with all sympathy, someone with MS that has been on sick leave for 6 years, her prognosis cannot be much more than grave and at the risk of sounding cynical her return would be for what reason? Does she still reside within the community or has she moved herself elsewhere where medical care is more readily available to her?
Second, *I* do believe you have built a reputation for yourself and and I'm not sure the community, on the whole, school system and otherwise would be that willing to bid adios so willingly.
Third, you don't know what it would be like in the other schools - you could potentially do much better work and be happier.
Sorry, I didn't vote. I think you should just carry on with your life - I think you should double up on sex, cross your fingers, toes and labia and let the chips fall where they may.
For certain you are in a pickle but there are very few of us who can orchestrate what may or may not happen. And using the words of wisdom of my mom (who pissed me off significantly every time she said it) things ALWAYS work out in the end. And you dear Milly, are not immune to that. Things will work out in the end.
From everything I've ever read from you which has not come across as egotistical, I don't believe the educational system nor the community will have an outcome (should you conceive) of "K, thanks for coming out, tell all your friends" and bid you farewell.
JMO.
ETA: I voted other only because it was an option, otherwise I don't think I would have voted. And of course to see the results.

I think the problem with hardwood is the darker finishes people are choosing these days.
For instance, natural oak is going to show dings, crumbs, dog snot and everything else just like any other floor so I don't even understand that arguement.
Water damage is going to cause damage to any flooring really. Even if its linoleum, the water can get under it and rot, but thats besides the point - water damage is water damage.
I know far too many people with hardwood in their kitchen and none of them treat that room any different than the other.
JMO but tiles are cold and more than ding - ever see a cracked tile? That is not very attractive and just how exactly do you fix that. I should say that I'm not a tile person for a kitchen to begin with but grout staining, grout degradation (which does happen) looks far less appealing than a ding in the floor.
I should also add my opinion has a lot to do with not being a fan of dark stain; I liked it when I first started seeing it but I would NEVER have dark stained hardwood; even medium would be pushing it for me.
The other thing about "my opinion" is that my IDEAL hardwood flooring would be wide plank(1 foot or more) reclaimed wood flooring all dinged up with hundreds of layers of polished wax so 'pristine' dark hardwood is not my cup of tea. At the same time no other kitchen flooing would be ideal for me more than hardwood.

If you can somehow watch it you won't be disappointed. This show just leaves you wanting more.
And didn't Laura Linney win an Emmy or something for her role? I've always liked her - I remember her from Primal Fear (great movie) she's one of those actresses that goes unnoticed until you really "notice" her.
For anyone who wants something to watch, Kalua and I highly recommend

That was kind and big of you ladykate. Were you or anyone else around when a longstanding good member who was dedicated to being fit and healthy was literally told to her face she looked gross? Yes, that did happen. She quit - deleted her profile and never returned.
She actually wasn't ultra cut at 4 or 6% bodyfat, just nicely built, very healthy and fit looking but for one freaking stupid day of her life put on fake spray tan and oiled up slightly so she wouldn't look pasty under ultra high ligting that would make her look like a ghost - that is what people said to her.
How dare they???

Seriously, how dare people say that about someone who is actually healthy?
And now I will repeat myself and acknowledge I'm repeating it - if a chubby/fat/obese girl posts herself everyone falls all over themselves saying how beautiful and attractive and sexy she is.
Who can answer that for me please? I truly and sincerely am not trying to be rude or critical (you're just going to have to take it as face value and believe it) but "she" doesn't look as great as everyone says - its a bunch of shallow bullshite.
And we as a society that continue to indulge in our glutony (self included) are supposed to come to believe its attractive, acceptable and those that are smart enough to realize this are bullies, mean, and have distorted body images.
If distorted body image is a point (that has actually been alluded to in this thread) just who or how many do have 'distorted body image' issues. Not just the ones who covet a lean body thats for damn certain.

Whats my idea of skinny girl? Something like this:
(sorry, she gets posted since she posted on a blog)
Now lets pick her apart. Notice her legs - the shape and size are not much bigger than her arms. Her ankles are almost touching but there is a huge gap between her legs this = almost zero muscle tone.
She would look terrible in a strabless dress - if the dress actually fit (I will not call down bosom) her hips would appear almost 'large' because her shoulders are so very narrow.
Were she to pouff up her hair and make big hair it would appear her shoulder wouldn't be able to hold up her bobble head.
Now I really hate to use this picture (I know who this woman is) but she's probably AT LEAST 10 - 15% less bodyfat and probably weighs a good 10 or 15 pounds MORE than the skinny chick. I hate to go to the way end of the spectrum but it proves my point.
I realize its an extreme example but I find it absolutely amazing when you see a tiny, fit girl weighing 145 pounds and a pudgy girl weighing 125 pounds.

Look, here's the bottom line, if you got lots of extra fat on you, that is not useful, you're too fat.
FAT IS NOT AN ORGAN; IT IS NOT A NECISSITY. If you can grab globules of it on your rib cage, stomach, sides, thighs, bum, thats fat.
Fat is not necessary to that extent. Candy coat it, donut cover it all you want - train your eye to enhance it but anybody who says those 3 girls I posted above that the third or second would look good in a bikini, wedding dress, t shirt and jeans, dress would LOOK better and they'd love to look like that is a flat out liar.
Ya, I'm saying you're a flat out liar because you are either a) that size or larger wishing you were smaller and want to accept your size or b) WAY larger and would do anything to be that "large".
And I've done these posts for years - the only congregation of women who admire the "large" size women are here.
They always say they don't care. They care A LOT.

And even skinnier arms - the 'fat girl' wouldn't be doing this - only 'skinny' arms could pull this off
And please note - those are palms FORWARD! thats a strrong girl, thats a man's pull up when she's not in that position her arms will look pretty darn skinny (and cut) not like third girl above. Fatter, does NOT mean stronger.

Not the greatest example of MY view but here's one that many would disagree with; I think
I'd rather be the skinny girl on the left and see absolutely no benefits of being the "fat girl" (even though she's not that fat) on the right. Like zero benefits.
And NO, I paid zero attention to the girl in the middle - I pictured myeself as one or the other - right or left. The girl in the middle "ideally" is far too soft for me being that nice of a size. Period.

nevermind - they're a whole other crew (I believe) than the general "generic poster".
Thin about it - ONE mod with one mod brain can make or break an entire thread. ONE MOD with one brain can represent an entire forum, the general forum consensus, the general population of an entire forum based on where they are on their mentrual cycle.
Totally makes sense no?
While I was not in agreement with the whole FB outlash I somewhat understand and so believe it was a lot of hormonal women declawed, even physically on WB, that became severely clawed on FB. Some people were into it and thrive on that but others are not.
I think the mods should know that and all their decisions (with or without admin) are VERY controversial.

This is a tricky question for ME. I'd done both - new build, resale.
What happens with a new build, its usually in the contract - one coat of primer + either 1 or 2 coats of paint.
As Septgal pointed out, paint is the last thing done. As awful as this sounds, painters are the lowest on the totem pole. Yes, you can get divine painters, quality work, and quality paint. But I have seen with my own very eyes them use leftover white paint used as "primer".
Regardless, new drywall absorbs quality primer like a sponge and top quality paint on top like a sponge too.
A new build with quality primer + 2 coats of quality paint is NOT going to be like going over 3 or more coats of paint. Its just the nature of the beast.
If it were me I'd go with whatever they have - I don't know what Clovedale is but I'd take that and repaint myself just because of cost.
Often, with darker colours and it being painted over drywall/primer etc. you'll see roller marks. To avoid that, I'd insist on flat, not eggshell to minimize these marks or flow of a roller. Unless of course your builder is higher end.

No judgement, just questions.
- may I respectfully ask what nationality/religion you both are? (regardless, no this is not normal and I can't think what religion/nationality this might be normal in, but I have to ask)
- killer bees? what country are you in?
- how old is your son and where was he when you should have consummated this marriage (your wedding day/night)
- what was the level of intimacy before you got married?
- are you actually living together right now?
- how long ago did you get married?
- have you actually consummated this marriage yet?
I see you only have 2 posts so you did not go to relationship rescue to post.
No, no marriage is absolute bliss at every moment. Everyone has problems and often people with problems think they have the worst - which is not always the case. In this particular case, yours are just odd and not quite mainstream normal.
